More than once I've expected to see Joel being thrown off Bishop's and Gunsmith's balcony for being an arrogant, petty, vindictive douche bag; and it was usually over just a game of DnD. Standard operating procedure for Joel, when his is obviously in the wrong is to go defensive, insulting and belligerent. We came to Hondos when the idea was fresh and never left. 'Never underesytimate the strangely Magnetic pull of Salvation Hondos'. Therefore, I for one have no real yardstick of what an admin should be, and am therefore perfectly happy with the way things flow and how you em, facilitate that flow. I can't agree more. Before Isa introduced me to the wonder that is Hondo's, I had NEVER heard of a message board let alone posted on one...to me, Nick's way is the only way and I really have no complaints thus far... If anyone of the other admins in Politics messes with your posts the way Drifter says his posts have been messed with, please report same to me. I was not aware of what Drifter said went down in February, or before that, with his sincere on-topic posts getting crapshacked and I would not have allowed it. Nick, decentralization of authority is a very good idea. One of the smartest things you ever did was make boardmembers responsible for little areas. I've been to lots of other boards where they've got a hundred thousand members and only 1 or 2 admins and the place feels too 'topdown' Admittedly, those were mostly Yaoi porn boards, but the point still stands. soldier of fortune Posted May 15, 2008 Share Posted May 15, 2008 k here's my 2c Nick, over years bar the great crash has done a great job, and perhaps some dodgy handling of fight club and given modships to certain people has tainted that slightly, but Hondos is still a relatively young community which will evolve over time, i think if we are truly to be a "community" we need to be less reliant on NIck. You need to share the load where required, and personally i think you need more deputies to get a more balanced approach to things. I missed the whole arch thing, but i have found his Dr Coxian approach to most threads tiresome and repeatative at best over the years, in fact i generally tend to ignore his point of view, and i've been round here a long time and remember well when Jax was the nemesis to most with his better than thou attitude, while he has mellowed the comparisons between him and arch are there. They could've been seperated at birth in my opinion. And having read the threads in question, its fucking pathetic, whats the saying "don't argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you!" its an internet forum, where OPINIONS] are exchanged, what arch or jax or whoever says is not gospel. I think hondos has become too divided to be considered fun anymore, there are too many clicks, and there are people have such brown noses its bullshit. We need more disquiet rather than feigned tolerance. I know i'm not a huge poster this weather but that is in part because a lot of people on here irritate me and i'm not going to waste my free time reading that or scouring through reams of stuff to post on. Re Sig, he's a top bloke and he will be missed if indeed he is gone for good. Also the Hondos Irish Chapter are the main reason i post here, thats it, before it was fun, now its just a way for me to keep in touch with the guys. Skeets another top bloke and has been an active poster over the years, had my back on the acalis issue, and often posts funny shit, funnier than 2T! The clicks add to the community i concede that point but its the brownnosing and teabagging of certain members that irks me. Where i feel its not needed, have we all become desperate attention whores? I know you try man, just saying is all. Maybe we should have a game of WW!!!! Well for deputies you should have one from each continent in my opinion. Hondo's has enough active members to have four deputies in addition to yourself imo.
