Panch
Just happy Red Dead made the top ten. Remove the dumb shit and its even lower. Also, Portal 2 ending was better than one.
Keth
Ah found it seeing the blargh ending discussions and newtype mentioning making our own list(s) made me wanna look up some endings I enjoyed. (not gonna spoiler warn these as it is a thread on game endings, so spoilers should be expected) Being the first Final Fantasy I have played and beaten made this one stick out to me. I thought inFamous's ending was great also (part 1). I can honestly say I didn't see that one coming.
Thelogan
2nd half of that level totally fucked with me. Perspective, yo.
Mr. Sexy Hat
I did finish it, It made me feel dirty. The jist of it is, The main character gets taken p.o.w by the russians and they "program" him to kill President Kennedy after he escapes. But another russian p.o.w "re-programs" him to hunt down some other russian guy and kill him instead, blah blah blah. I'm really sketchy on deatails you should just wiki it. The one thing I do remember that the footage at the end suggests that he followed is oringal "programming" and assassinated the president. By the way how the fuck do you post videos now?? The NZA
i still don't get the full story behind braid's ending, and ive seen/read about it numerous times now. shit was...vague, even where it wasnt. yeah, just finished Infamous 2! ending wasnt bad at all, but im with axels: 1 hits you outta nowhere, totally worth plaything through for that. i just watched that linked vid the other day, and it's great how much of 2 they already had laid out from it. Jables
Jeez, was it a poll made by Aussies? I finished it, but only because I'm trying to wrap up more games I start now instead of being midway through a bajillion titles. ANd the only reason I bought the game to start with was for the remote control car with a camera in it that I STILL haven't had a chance to send into a highschool locker room. Nothing to be said of the primary/elementary school I live up the block from/pedobear
Mortiis558
And honestly I would argue FF7 being so high up, the game is fucking just about the best there is...the ending...well that was a little predictable. Beat sephiroth and save the world. No Fight Club-like revelation that you ARE Sephiroth or something. You just see some little girl smile as green shit flows everywhere...the end. I still haven't beat Portal 2 so I want to see how that ending compares to the first one, but the first one was pretty damn cool. The boss fight itself not so much, but ending up outside the lab, leading into the "will never be made" HL:Ep 3 where they finally combine portal and Half-Life in the greatest combo ever seen in video gaming history!! Portal Gun + Grav Gun = GOD! It will never happen, just like any FPS episodic game going beyond 2 of 6 planned episodes. Nope, micro-transactions and making you pay for stuff that used to be standard are the new best way to make money. "Like the intro? Download the Main Screen and Lvl 1 DLC Only $19.99!!" The NZA
i never really did sort out what happened at the end of VII. i was so sure aeris' spell had failed, because the meteor seemed to be passing through it - fast forward, and there's Red XIII's kids or something looking at the remnants of Midgar. I was so sure the game was basically saying white or whatever she cast saved the earth by letting the people go, bish said wasn't so. i guess he's right, since Advent Children and all the other stuff happens in a city not blown up. then again, Turk & co were magically alive for that one, so i don't think any of it counts. Mortiis558
It's been a few years since I played through and beat ff7 again. But from what I can remember is that Meteor was crashing down and when Cloud beat Sephiroth he journeyed into the lifestream of Gaia and basically the world released a cleansing stream that defeated meteor and removed all the bad stuff from the lifestream. Now whether Aeris was a personification of the lifestream is up for debate. Cause the whole thing with Shinra is that they were sucking up the mako and using it for their own ends and in the process destroying their world. There are more subtle undertones and stuff, but that is basically the end from what I understand.
Keth
The turks were alive and well at the end of FF7 also. You basically have one last fight and they are all "We secretly love you" and leave. (sorta)
The NZA
i so don't remember that man
Iambaytor
Man, all this talk just reminds me how I kept hitting x every time a cutscene happened in that game. What a long, dull, convoluted story.
The NZA
indeed, but...what else were you playing the game for? it surely wasn't the gameplay. maybe the graphics at the time, but that was all cut scenes too!
Iambaytor
7 had a fairly fun battle system and I enjoyed it as much as any other PS1 outing (though not as much as 9, I loved it loads more than 8) but the story and characters is a classic example of why people hate Japanese things. Mr. Sexy Hat
What I remember from FF7 Train battle Mako reactor Crossdressing Motorcycle battle chocobo farm (blank) Maybe that casino place? That bitch steals my materia. Aeres dies Snowbording Cloud falls in mako stream Could is in wheel chair The Weapons tear shit up Golden Chocobo Metor. kill bad guy and win. The story was all over the shop from what I remeber. I still don't know how Zack fitted into the story. I still think FF6 and FF9 had better stories, minimal bullshit and they both kept me playing till the end.

Thelogan
i still don't get the full story behind braid's ending, and ive seen/read about it numerous times now. shit was...vague, even where it wasnt. Are you talking about the chunks of text? I dated a chick once that didn't "get" The Matrix, no matter how it was explained. Is it like that? Here's what matters: 1. Trying to rescue princess 2. WHOA Turns out she's running from you, you creep 3. Brought to you by M. Night Shyamalyan 4. Ley me know where shit is getting murky
The NZA
ahaha, yes, he's oh so clever when he's missing the entire nuke/manhattan project subtext. i think i only remember 1 line in the books relating to it, but seriously man, it's apparently a whole thing
