Has anyone heard about this? The first one opened at Dolphin Mall on May 30th. They are also going to open one in Tampa for the Summer of 2008, Daytona Beach & Atlanta Fall 2009, & Gambrills, MD Summer 2010...

Benny, DK, Princess Meia & I went to the one in Dolphin Mall last night and I must say that I am very impressed. I will tell you this: It's not cheap (Mon-Thurs $15 a ticket, Fri-Sun $17 a ticket and meals are approximately $20pp w/o alcohol), but you are paying for quality service, good food and no annoying kids/teenagers being stupid in your theatre.

They have a full bar and menu to choose from and are constantly adding things to it. They try to make signature desserts featuring whatever movie they are playing at the time...this week's gem was called "The Hulk".

You have to be 21 to go to the theatre and they aren't playing all the movies (at the moment they are playing: Indiana Jones, You Don't Mess With The Zohan, The Happening, Sex & The City, & The Hulk). All seats are reserved beforehand, so you don't have to worry about not getting a good seat...if you buy your tickets early enough, you have pick of the theatre...

We bought our tickets at about 1pm on Saturday and almost everything was sold out...we were able to get "Zohan" for 9pm with limited seats. We sat second row, but the good thing is that the seats are far enough away from the screen that you are able to still enjoy the movie even from first row...

I recommend it 100%. It's a shame we can't afford to do it weekly because it's worth it...

Damn, I linked it wrong? I'll fix it in the AM when I can get to a computer (I'm on my mobile)...

Jax, its worth a try at least once. Its listed on Fandango but I wasn't able to purchase any tickets from there...you can also call for reservations...

I think we're going back next weekend... :2T:

yes, I think I'm going to watch Dark Knight there.

i dunno if i would unless the group really decides on it. i like midnight showing for the fanboy crowds.

now, regular showings, i think its getting worse as far as talking/cellphones and the like, so if i didnt catch this day 1 id see it there for sure. i'm interested in checking it out.

I went to the site today and you can already purchase the tix through fandango. They replaced Indiana Jones with GET SMART which I would love to go see. They basically pick the top 5 movies out that week/month and play those only...it's a good idea, if you ask me.

Not really...This is the closest thing to a "nice" movie experience we have. Going to the movies is overpriced and overrated. The only reason I like Cinebistro is the quality of food & service without the annoyance of teenagers. If you look at it monetarily, you are only paying a little bit more than you would for a regular movie/food.

MOVIE TAVERN RULES MY FACE. I will be SO happy to be able to go again once we move back! ZOMG.

Shit, I wish there were more things like that in these parts...I loved the cinebistro experience, but not sure my pocketbook felt the same.

But I was also doing a little mathwork: movie tickets for 2 $20.00, dinner at a decent restaurant $50...comes out to almost the same amount and you don't have to worry that you'll be late for your movie if service was slow.

From what I've heard, the Bedford one seems to be the only one in DFW worth a damn. Now, in Austin, weve got the Alamo Drafthouse.

The Downtown (it was moved to the Ritz while back) one has the others beat when it comes to events.

Yeah, Bedford is DEFINITELY the nicest one by far! I've been to most the others in the area, and Bedford's makes me smile <3

Cj and I still have yet to invade Austin for a visit. We'll have to come soon and check out a movie with you there!

Movie Tavern is pretty decently priced. Last time I was there, tickets were $6.00 (I think matinee was $4.00??) and the food isn't too bad in price. The alcohol is where they hit you :( But they give you big glasses of icewater for free! none of that puny hot water in a papercup like some theaters *grrr*
