Jonathan Coulton would still be the best choice (especially I Fell Fantastic). If they got the Sunny guys into the studio to record called Nightman Vs Dayman that had Nightman and then segwayed into Dayman, by Chemical Dream Machine, it could be awesome.

You can still get drunk and sing Cash to us at parties. Then you can tell us all about Daredevil canon. Yea, that list is golden.

That list is almost identical to one of the three leaked lists. It's a good list and hopefully will open some of those new bands to future DLC too.

Bish, you got a link? Any other official info?

so, ANYTHING on that GNR song? Is it Chinese Democracy?

by the way, wiki says:

On July 14, 2008, it was announced at the 2008 E3 show that Axl Rose had licensed a new song from Chinese Democracy titled "Shackler's Revenge" for the upcoming game Rock Band 2, due in September.

so that answers that! and here's to $300 drum sets. shit, i wonder how limited the quantity's gonna be? those things could shoot up fast.

Like I said before, if it works with GH:WT also, It's bought. If Joel's going to buy it, I'll definitely want to try it first.

Anyway, I just realized, this is 75 main setlist songs, versus RB1's 45. That's a big jump, and clearly a sign that they are willing to seriously overshadow GH.

Yeah but they're (hopefully) going to lose a lotta cash outside of America. Obviously not speaking for my nation given that I broke early but from what I understand of my peers, there's only so long you can dangle a carrot in front of a motherfucker before they stick it up your arse.

Nice.

skeet - any word on who's fault the delay is? Harmonix or wha? ive read some retailers had a hard time with the box itself taking up too much shelf space, not sure if that factors in at all.

I guess I've give a song-by-song review

1. AC/DC “Let There Be Rock” 1970s One of my favorite song from one of my most desired band to be in RB...among the list's highlights

2. AFI “Girl’s Gone Grey” 2000’s Not very interesting

3. Alanis Morissette “You Oughta Know” 1990’s This will be a fun one, particularly for the singer

4. Alice in Chains “Man in the Box” 1990’s A modern-era grunge/metal classic, good choice

5. Allman Brothers “Ramblin’ Man” 1970’s I really wish this was Whipping Post, but this game is already short on Southern Rock that sounds really Southern, so I guess I can just hope for DLC

6. Avenged Sevenfold “Almost Easy” 2000’s Not a fan of the band, but at least The Beast adn the Harlot on GH2 was fun with it's time changes, this one sounds kinda lame

7. Bad Company “Shooting Star” 1970’s Though not a Southern Rock band, this has a Southern Rock sound, and Bad Company doesn't have alot of great song, so this is probably a good choice

8. Beastie Boys “So Whatcha Want” 1990’s Love the Beasties, though No Sleep til Brooklyn, Fight For Your Right or Rhymin' & Stealin' would have made me happier

9. Beck “E-Pro” 2000’s Good to see Beck in a rhythm game, though Devil's Haircut and Loser would both have been amazing

10. Bikini Kill “Rebel Girl” 1990’s Always god to get songs by girl vocalists, and the drumming should be fun

11. Billy Idol “White Wedding Pt. I” 1980’s I'm a bit torn on this. I kinda want the full version, but I kinda know it would be a bit lame. If we get Rebel Yell in DLC, and maybe Dancing With Myself, Mony Mony and Cradle of Love, we'll be set on Idol songs

12. Blondie “One Way or Another” 1970’s This is the Blondie song this game needs (though Heart of Glass would have been a killer song for vocals)

13. Bob Dylan “Tangled Up in Blue” 1970’s Yes, yes and more yes. While only a few Dylan songs work for a bull band, those that do are going to be a blast.

14. Bon Jovi “Livin’ on a Prayer” 1980’s Fuck the haters, this song You Give Love A Bad Name and Blaze of Glory would all be crazy fun.

15. Cheap Trick “Hello There” 1970’s This is fun song, but since they announced that the Who-pack would have 3 live recordings, I've been thinking about how awesome I Want You To Want Me (Live at Budokan) would be

16. Devo “Uncontrollable Urge” 1980’s While everyone wants Whip It, this si great choice, particularly for the guitar

17. Dinosaur Jr. “Feel the Pain” 1990’s Not a bad choice, but I'm not particularly excited

18. Disturbed “Down with the Sickness” 2000’s Haha, yes.

19. Dream Theater “Panic Attack” 2000’s Maybe not the best choice, but not a bad one. Challenging for all instruments

20. Duran Duran “Hungry Like the Wolf” 1980’s Not a huge fan, but it's a good song

21. Elvis Costello “Pump It Up” 1970’s Been wanting this song since the GH days, I can also envision several great DLC songs like Peace, Love & Understanding, Accidents Will Happen, Oliver's Army, Watching the Detective, and I Don't Want To Go To Chelsea

22. Fleetwood Mac “Go Your Own Way” 1970’s Lots of great Mac songs, and this i just as good as any to start with. Hoping for some DLC

23. Foo Fighters “Everlong” 1990’s This is one people have been wanting for years. The drumming should be awesome.

24. Guns N’ Roses “Shackler’s Revenge” 2000’s Well, if nothing else, this will give us insight as to whether Chinese Democracy will suck or not

25. Interpol “PDA” 2000’s Should be fun

26. Jane’s Addiction “Mountain Song” 1980’s Wouldn't have been my first choice, but anything off Ritual or Nothing's Shocking is good

27. Jethro Tull “Aqualung” 1970’s This may be one of my favorite songs on this list I will be playing this one frequently

28. Jimmy Eat World “The Middle” 2000’s I love this stupid song

29. Joan Jett “Bad Reputation” 1980’s Not as catching as I Love Rock N' Roll, but it rocks more.

30. Journey “Anyway You Want It” 1970’s The best possible Journey song for this game. Should be awesome on vocals

31. Judas Priest “Painkiller” 1990’s Eh

32. Kansas “Carry On Wayward Son” 1970’s Good stuff

33. L7 “Pretend We’re Dead” 1990’s I'm a sucker for this 90's stuff

34. Lacuna Coil “Our Truth” 2000’s Eh

35. Linkin Park “One Step Closer” 2000’s For the kiddies

36. Lit “My Own Worst Enemy” 1990’s In the absence of Green Day, this is a great 90's punk song.

37. Lush “De-Luxe” 1990’s I'm afraid this might be a tad boring

38. Mastodon “Colony of Birchmen” 2000’s I little silly, but the drumming might be fun

39. Megadeth “Peace Sells” 1980’s Good stuff

40. Metallica “Battery” 1980’s Other that Master of Puppets, this is the Metallica song I've most wanted.

41. Mighty Mighty Bosstones “Where’d You Go” 1990’s One of the members of the Bosstones is a Harmonix employee, so I'm surprised it took this long to get a Bosstones in a game, and now that they did, I wonder why they didn't pick one of their many really fun songs (Rascal King would have been awesome)

42. Modest Mouse “Float On” 2000’s This is a fun song

43. Motorhead “Ace of Spades” 1980’s Can't go wrong with this song

44. Nirvana “Drain You” 1990’s I'm concerned for what this means about the Nevermind album DLC.

45. Norman Greenbaum “Spirit in the Sky” 1960’s Love this song, just wish there was more 60's songs. This game is equally bare as the first game

46. Panic at the Disco “Nine in the Afternoon” 2000’s This band is like the modern day ELO to me. Glad to have them in the game

47. Paramore “That’s What You Get” 2000’s More for the kiddies

48. Pearl Jam “Alive” 1990’s I think I may cry...if grunge had only one anthem, this was it.

49. Presidents of the USA “Lump” 1990’s I love the PUSA's first album, and this song is nothing but fun. Good guitar solo too.

50. Rage Against the Machine “Testify” 1990’s Now that they're getting masters, I'm glad to see Rage (Killing in the Name on GH2 was a terrible cover). Hoping for DLC a-plenty

51. Ratt “Round & Round” 1980’s A pinnacle in 80's nostalgia

52. Red Hot Chili Peppers “Give it Away” 1990’s Just about the best song for this game.

53. Rise Against “Give it All” 2000’s Good choice

54. Rush “The Trees” 1970’s This is of my favorite Rush songs. The intro should be fun on the guitar. Still, I was really hoping for The Spirit of Radio.

55. Silversun Pickups “Lazy Eye” 2000’s This song is not very interesting, but I like it

56. Smashing Pumpkins “Today” 1990’s Everybody wants Bullet with Butterfly Wings, but for my money, this is Pumpkins song I really wanted (this and Tonight Tonight)

57. Social Distortion “I Was Wrong” 1990’s I've never liked this band

58. Sonic Youth “Teenage Riot” 1980’s This is really the only Sonic Youth song I wanted, so I couldn't be happier with this choice

59. Soundgarden “Spoonman” 1990’s Such a great song of this game. Not as well-known as Black Hole Sun, but more fun.

60. Squeeze “Cool for Cats” 1970’s Silly song

61. Steely Dan “Bodhitsattva” 1970’s Funny choice, when some of their bigger hits woul have worked really well.

62. Steve Miller Band “Rock’n Me” 1970’s Fun song, but there's a handful of thers that might have been better.

63. Survivor “Eye of the Tiger” 1980’s Gonna need a montage! Seriously, this is awesome.

64. System of a Down “Chop Suey” 2000’s Toxicity would have made me a little happier, but this is really good news. Drums and vocals in particular are going to be a blast.

65. Talking Heads “Psycho Killer” 1970’s This is a really pleasant surprise. This is a great song, and I would have expected a more famous Heads song.

66. Tenacious D “Master Exploder” 2000’s Not particularly good for the drummer, but I love the D.

67. Testament “Souls of Black” 1990’s Fine as far as Hair Metal goes

68. The Donnas “New Kid in School” 2000’s Not as fun as Take It Off, but fun nonetheless.

69. The Go-Go’s “We Got the Beat” 1980’s Haha...I'm a sucker for fun

70. The Grateful Dead “Alabama Getaway” 1980’s Eh

71. The Guess Who “American Woman” 1970’s Awesome

72. The Muffs “Kids in America” 1990’s The original version had like no guitar, but this version is kinda lame

73. The Offspring “Come Out & Play (Keep ‘em Separated)” 1990’s This is another highlight of the list. Bravo.

74. The Replacements “Alex Chilton” 1980’s The Replacements are always good

75. The Who “Pinball Wizard” 1960’s A classic song for probably one fo my favorite albums or all time.

Some interesting things from the website's official press release:

The Rock Band 2 soundtrack will feature over 100 songs with over 80 songs on disc plus an additional 20 bonus tracks which will be made available for free download this fall.

That's interesting. If they mean besides the ones in RB2, that would be alot, since there are only 2 free tracks as of now.

Owners of the original Rock Band will have the ability to export most of the Rock Band disc tracks and upgrade them into Rock Band 2 gameplay--the first time ever in videogame history!

Strange that it would be 'most' and not 'all'. I wonder if the reason for that is a legal one.

But why not allow them all? Found this saying that you will be able to unlock the RB1 game disc to export 'most' of the game tracks, for an unlocking fee of 'under $5'.

Also, I'm guessing these 20 free songs are to entice people who have never downloaded any DLC to try it out, hopefully getting them interested in doing it for money later on.

it's due to liscening issues because they have to reliscence for RB2(sigh) thats proabbly why most and why there will be a charge. also it seems it's been confirmed that RB controllers will work with GH:WT, for the drum parts the game will go down to 4 inputs.

Also I've been hearing that the Ion drums are not really all that great from people who have played with the version sold as electrictic drums and that some of those parts have been downgraded to save costs so that sounds like shit :/ Trying to find info on the mad catz stuff, post if you hear about it.
