The NZA Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 yes, i know we all frequent & love our current Member Lounge, but im thinking of a subforum to here, or more likely Town Square, that'd act as an interactive corner. As brought up in the Batman meetup thread in Town Square, ive got 2 things i need a forum for, and im trying to see if i can create one to serve both purposes: 1) A corner for various local chapters to discuss meetups that largely only apply to them (miami, irish, oz etc). If we communicated it right, everybody'd know where to check in for info on them, if they dont got time to search the rest of the board to hunt them down. obviously, the yanks invading oz, the hondos-con etc talk would find a home here. 2) id like to take some from pimp hand and put member efforts into the same corner - links to pet projects, pictures of hondonians (and kids/etc that prolly shouldnt be in the same forum as smut), and more of our efforts to share & breakdown the six degrees of separation that this site set out to bridge back in '01 with member profiles and such. do you think these'd work? lookin for ideas here. I say take pics & meets to a subforum in Townsquare, but I'm unsure of the relevance of projects & art, 'specially when Junker's had his pinned in the movie forum since 01. Is it a whole lot of grief to simply give the art-inclined Hondonians their own subforum platform separate to the possibly newly-minted meets forum? Possibly called 'When worlds Collide'? Jables Posted July 8, 2008 Share Posted July 8, 2008 Yeah but meet ups & pics of meetups go hand-in-hand, as vestiges of our physical interactions so then should pics of us, friends, family, pets & dooks should also go in there for streamlining. One place that has all photos as opposed to flash videos & hotlinks for jokey purposes, or even just porn, because I think that's what Nick's trying to adress here-separating dook and porn and dogs. The NZA Posted July 8, 2008 Author Share Posted July 8, 2008 yeah, skeet's got it, pics with meetups. that's cool. i'm for a meetup thread and i think hondonian pics, and pets and stuff would fit in there,but stuff like projects should go in their respective forums, art in art & literature, music in music etc well i just meant projects like general websites but i guess theyd do just fine in pimp hand, its not like i dont try putting everyone on our links page anyway. and yeah, i do keep junker's works pinned in movies, and ray-ray's should be in music and such. if anything, what i might do with such a subforum is make one locked thread just pointing to all of them/their sources for member works and such. moar ideas/votes! I like the meetups & all sorts of member pics be part of a subforum in town square...and consequently volunteer to mod said sub-forum and relinquish my PH mod--seeing as I basically only go in there to post pics of me & co...just a suggestion... I'm no authority on the matter in the slightest, but I still see the merit of a designated sub-forum for all creative works as opposed to pinning pieces here and there, not only to try and raise the profile of PH(the other crapshack-no offense to current mods) but also for accesibility like, go here to see what the people you're interacting with have done as opposed to the things we're just posting in Blargh or for the hell of it. I mean, are there really enough meet-ups to warrant an entire forum by themselves? point. so in this proposed forum, pinned up would be the meet the hondonians picture thread(s), and the rest of it would be meetups? again, i could always have a link thread to project threads or just put something in the wiki. anything else you guys think would fit well in there? town square'd still be home to welcome & birthday threads as well as random chatting.
