Senshik
I was talking to my bro, Los, yesterday and he recommended this one to me. I had seen it on OM before and I briefly read the first issue but for some reason I forgot I started reading it. Anyway, I started watching the anime yesterday and haven't been able to stop because it's just that much fun to watch! It reminds me of our group of friends who enjoy this subculture. If you're looking for a light-hearted anime/ manga, this one's definitely for you! Check out the completed manga series here. Check out anime here. From WIKI: Genshiken follows the lives of a group of college students drawn together by their shared hobbies, and the trials and adventures associated with being otaku. The story begins with the introduction of Kanji Sasahara, a shy, confidence-lacking freshman who on club day at university, decides to join a club he would actually enjoy, Genshiken. Over his four years at Shiiou University, Sasahara comes to accept himself for who he is and loses the inhibitions and guilt he once felt and associated with otaku culture, becoming an enthusiastic clubmember, and for a time, a capable club president. As the story of Genshiken progresses, focus is also placed on Saki Kasukabe, a determined non-otaku who initially struggles to drag her boyfriend out of the club, and Chika Ogiue, a self-professed otaku-hater who feels a deep-seated shame and self-loathing toward her own interests and hobbies. During the course of the series, the reader bears witness as the group grows in its cohesiveness over time, and bonds form between the characters as they begin to see themselves as more than fellow club members, but friends as well. In this context, club activities such as group outings, the biannual pilgrimage to Comifes, and even simply hanging out in the clubroom, allow the characters' complex relationships to grow into friendship, infatuation, and at times, even love. While a few of them never quite see eye-to-eye about their interests or the lives they lead, they are held together by the bonds of friendship that they share. ENJOY!!! Senshik
I just finished watching the entire anime for this, and it was awesome!!! (there are only 2 seasons, and you can catch them on Veoh.com) I recommend this one for those who want to see something funny and are fans of both anime's manga's and games! THe characters definitely get fleshed out as you continue to watch and their antics are never shy of being perverted! I love it!

If not, finish the story by reading chapter 43 and up. Its only about 12 chapters to go from where the anime ended. (By the way, that yaoi episode (S2:EP5) is just too funny. Nyo.... The NZA
I think were about halfway through season 1, and this is just golden. sen initially said "this reminds me of how you & your college friends prolly were" and i was insulted till i saw more of it...yeah, i hung with a fair amount of otaku. one of the last ones i caught was the anime con, shit was hilarious. the new cosplay chick with the bald, oldguy fetish seems cool too. The NZA
so, im starting season 2 and this is the funniest shit since azumanga, for me. its hard to pick out favorites (matarame comes close), but ohno's character, especially with the intro of the new girl, is just so awesome. cant wait to see how this season goes down, sen keeps swearing its better than season 1 which i really enjoyed. bishopcruz
What is covered in S2? I have read all the manga, I just wonder if that one season will handle all the stuff after S1. And Madarame rocks, though for some reason I really feel for Saki sometimes.
gunsmithx
Saki works so well simply because she pretty much has the most character growth in the series. I really started out disliking her but she really ends up a sympathic character and also fairly likeble towards the end. Plus kosaka is an evil mastermind, no really he is evil.
