Jumbie
In the alternate gay Reed reality the comic title is Fabulous Four. Anyways, I have to ask too, Skeet-skeet-skeet-skeet, what book did this take place in?

crimsonfire
Just read FF #563. Pretty forgettable until the last few pages. Still no goddamned clues as to who this dude is. What/whoever he is, hes a cold motherfucker. Reed Richards heart, anyone? I'm gonna wager hes based on some kind of mythical or religious type entity. That or good 'ol fashioned alternate reality, just like mama used to make.

crimsonfire
Don't think so although he does seem to have a lieutenant or associate of sorts whos along for the ride. That last panel with Doom smirking was awesome and if the next one isnt some kind of reveal and/or chock full of 'splosions I'm gonna call shenanigans. Jumbie
Here's something that's been bothering me... Why does Doom get to keep his armor on in jail? I mean, is he like Darth Vader where he needs it to live? Sure s fuck he should still be wearing prison Orange, not green. Also, is it possible that the two people talking at the end aren't Doom's masters or Doom's master and his apprentice, but Doom's master and his sugah? I mean, maybe alternate universe Reed isn't the only gay variant? Actually, now that I think about it, there's no0 reason to think that either of those two persons at the end is male, is there? At least one could be female. I mean, they pulled that trick in The Prince of Thieves movie where they make you think that Robin's fighting a guy and then it turns out to be Marian in armor. The NZA
no, we dont know what their relationship, mr im-writing-a-yaoi-fanfic-as-we-speak. or their gender, to be fair. the Books of Doom mini by Bru (great, if youve not read it) basically said his harmor's kinda central, as i recall. part of it was keeping the demons out his head, but honestly, outside of Secret War, when have you seen him out of it? i dont think its an option. Jumbie
Right, but him getting to keep the green cloak...> C'mon, like I said, Prison orange overalls can fit over that armor. I can believe a man can create a suit of armor that gives him the powers of a god, but I cannot believe that the govt will let him wear it as is in prison. Jables
Does he not have diplomatic immunity? Being that he's incarcerated at all would mean they'd let him have creature comforts
Jumbie
Now that U got me thinknig about it, he is being held in the Hague, so I suppose those fuckin Europeans have probably given him his own butler by now.
Iambaytor
Maybe he's just so fuck ugly that no-one wants to see him out of it. Also lets be honest, as good of a magic user as he is he doesn't need the suit to kick ass and chew bubblegum.
Mr. Hakujin
Does anyone know if this new miniseries "Dr. Doom & The Masters of Evil" (I think that's what it's called--it's on issue 2 or 3 right now) has anything to do w/ Doom's Master? It looked kinda lame when I flipped through it and I'll likely skip it unless it's related to the Doom's Master character somehow.
Jables
Nah, it just looks to be some lame-o kid's story.
Mr. Hakujin
Nah, it just looks to be some lame-o kid's story. Yeah, I paged through it in the comic shop & that's the impression I got as well. Just seeking confirmation...
Iambaytor
If it is part of this crazy series then judging by the title of that book I would say that Dr. Doom's master is Skeletor.
Mr. Hakujin
Or Orko. You know that floating freak was into some dark shit on the side.
Iambaytor
Or Orko. You know that floating freak was into some dark shit on the side. He was probably boning that butterfly-owl thing that She-Ra hung out with.
Mr. Hakujin
He was probably boning that butterfly-owl thing that She-Ra hung out with. I'm not sure if I like where this logic is going. I get the feeling you're only two steps to the left of posting some "fan art" of Sorceress & Cringer doing baaaad things.
Jables
Holy motherfuck this thread got o/t. FF 567 is the second part of the proper 'Doom's Masters' arc and I gotta say it's already looking like a fizzler. I have the Wizard interview at home where he states that 1985, OML & FF were all tied in together by Doom's mentor(the aptly named Marquis of Death), but with 1985 long gone in the can and pretty unpopular itself, fucking inexplicable delays with Wolverine then causing shitty fucking filler issues in FF like the Scotland arc, it's all gone to shit & I worry OML will be Millar's last good story before he revamps the Authority with fishnets & kidnapping, and the Engineer is a man-hating prostitute/ Deborah Harry in Spun. The NZA
yeah, i liked it a bit... was interesting seeing doom on his knees, and now possibly dead? plus the apprentice guy looks interesting, but its so dark and berserk-like that i kinda fear you might be right about it not delivering. as for OML, event's tying up with the big finale special, and that looks to be mostly the Hulklings? i dunno, i guess hooded one could cameo but id be surprised if he had a bigger role than what little he did in 1985. and hey, dont forget Kick-Ass. Jables
Clearly you're not up on 567. Beaten, burnt, dropped in Prehistoria to be eaten by a giant shark-guaranteed this is gonna be some JLA-Obsidian Age type shit The first part of the newest ish was clearly fantasy, and christ am I sick of seeing the Doom/Susan union. Cyclops Ben was pretty cool though, and the way it was all taken away? Pretty sweet. But then Doom's master, some kind of elemental force starts acting like some b-type villian? Jeeeesus christ I hate to see how this is gonna end.
The NZA
shit. clearly, im not - off to go find that issue, then. i just got caught up recently, didnt know a new one was due...shit, that was fast for millar.
Jables
Well since he's gearing up to wrap up OML he clearly wants all his ducks in a row. How else would you explain that terrible two-issue Scotland arc? Did you read that?
