Jables Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 This may sound like a weird doubletake, but that avatar is okay in my book(not just because it's part of the greatest bikini montage I've ever seen) because it's small enough the the passerby in the office won't know what he's looking at unless he/she makes a point of scrutinizing. Same goes for similar-sized images & gifs(if you really gotta put em in the shoutbox). The shit I breezed past earlier though was huge, not to mention it makes it harder to infact get to valid text entries when there's a monster image in the way, nevermind one I'm frantically trying to hide from my colleagues. Jumbie accounts for forgetfulness(even though worst case scenario there's a cornerstone of Hondos called Blargh), what about the otehr two? amynicole Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 i think that everyone should consider one another before posting anything, but at the same time, i dont think there should be rules about what you can and cannot post in the shout box. you can minimize it. so enter at your own risk. this is an adult site, and if you are at work, you need to be careful, instead of censoring everybody else. Noone seems to appreciate the slippery slope I walk here stating that as a member of Hondos who posts most frequently from work, that cencorship is by no means a good thing & that Hondos should be entered at one's own risk. I mean, you have Joel on one side saying shit needs to be SFW in any public area including shoutbox, and then there's Doj who's a self-confessed shit-stirrier who just seems to dig on making things difficult for whatever gratification he can muster. This is my diplomatic approach whereby, even if I were at home, naked with my tissue & moisturiser sidearms, there's places to go for smut, even within Hondos. If i'm looking at shoutbox, I'm looking to chat. Fuck's sake, there's even Blargh(another thread I respectfully don't go to at work for the NSFW reason) if you have some random gif or whatever... Get angry all you want, but once the roof came unglued due to the naked pics in shoutbox, everyone stopped. There was a lot more mutual respect shown than people gave credit for. Sure, we debated over it, back and forth, took sides, argued... did alla that, but noone posted another naked pic in the shoutbox. Now, bikini clad chicks are off limits? Uhm, ok. If the official stance is, bikinis costs people jobs, then I doubt you will see anymore in the shoutbox. It will be something else next, as thats the way it goes. Next it will be swear words, cuz a boss saw someone say FUCK HER! and he thought it was you typing about her. Then it will come to we can only talk about work related stuff or the boss gets mad. Once the issue comes up, the subject in question stops, history proves this... but people then rant on about it, and if anyone defends the idea, they become prick and douche and asshole or whatever... its a bit petty. The original nudie pics were meant as fun/funny, with no hindsight about people at work griping about it. It immediately stopped, out of respect. Yet, somehow the thrashing began. This incident, a funny hot tub incident, was focused on the funny oops i crapped in the water, not the fact that they are wearing bikinis. NOONE would have thought that a clothed woman, even bikini clad, would be NSFW. So, now we have to take a minute, mebbe check with a friend or fellow hondie via messenger... "hey is this funny, or is it someones pink slip?' To solve this is it or isnt it issue, I say we outlaw any pics/gifs/video's period in shoutbox, so the bickering stops. I thought my joke with Joel earlier clarified that the Biel pic, even dressed, danced around the line. Hardly anyone mentioned the Biel pic, the focus was on the hot tub. I think the size of it keeps it at bay too, cuz I am sure if it were an entire page or zoomed in and you saw 'floaters' that it would cross the line.
