  1. So me and Ben got engaged! I felt weird posting a whole thread about it though, since aside from the standard "Congrats" stuff there isn't much to talk about as we have no wedding plans aside from a vague spring 2011 time period. Pretty ring. I'll try and post a pic once I get a good one :-D
  2. Also, that first video with the doll was hilarious and horrific.

  4. WHY IS THE SUNSHINE MUSIC FUCKING EVERYWHERE NOW??? Adagio in E minor, I swear to god, if I hear it in one more trailer or film where it doesn't belong (thank you, Kick Ass) I'm gonna hunt John Murphy down and force him at gunpoint to sign over the rights to me.
  5. I'm agreed as to Zeitgeist not being fantastic... Whether Billy Corgan did most of the everything in the Pumpkins, especially near the end, it isn't the same band now. It's like the Beatles... near the end Paul was going in and recording things alone, as was John, and Paul was re-recording all of Ringo's drums, but the solo albums that followed, though good (great, a few of them), were not the same, and I would never want to call them Beatles albums. They're not. I feel like he's just trying to get people to buy the album based on the name since Zwan didn't do that well (commercially, anyway
  6. Yeah, they were doing the harmonies in the video and it's gonna be awesome.
  7. Oh my god I have been laughing at that for the last half hour...
  8. Fun stuff! I didn't think it was as good as the first one, though, and I can't put my finger on why... I was really into all the Nick Fury and Avengers stuff the whole time, that was so great. The most powerful feeling of mine walking out of the theater was excitement for that to come out. Maybe that's why I wasn't as into the movie as the first, some of that stuff felt like a teaser to drum up enthusiasm for Avengers rather than focus on this movie and this story. Like, if I was gonna be that interested in all the Avengers stuff, I'd rather have it be while watching the Avengers movi
  9. I love Jager bombs. I like Jager, but I couldn't go a whole night drinking a lot of it. Not gay at all. Gay drinks are sugary mixed drinks, like pina coladas and appletinis, not anything you can shoot. Tequila is horrible. Patron included. I can't even smell it without getting a little nauseated.
  10. Looking through this thread is amaing.... you seem to have ridiculous knack for this, Aartemys. Cast me! I'm curious to see what you'd come up with, no one that I've played this game with yet has managed to find anyone.
  11. I fucking LOVE Good Eats. His show is amazing and funny. He treats cooking like chemistry. His episode on pancakes was my favorite. Though he put an awful lot of work into making those pancakes.
  12. My mom has three from when she was a kid in the 60s. They're so cool, they look like Samantha and her mom from Bewitched. She gave them to me when I was little, but my collection has somehow migrated back to her possession, with my 20 odd 90s Barbies. I wish we had kept some in their boxes, but I ruined the shit out of them playing with them so much. Cut hair, dye and bleach experiments, tattoos and broken legs... I LOVED Barbie.
  13. I'm loving ground turkey. Doesn't make me miss ground beef at all, but chops the calories of a given dish by a ton. Also, since I don't know where else to put this, I've started sort of a weight loss/ body image blog with 2 friends of mine, if you guys want to follow it. Input is way appreciated by the three of us. I'm Mainda Pants, obviously.
  14. Haha. He puts my name in songs a lot too... "Rock the Mainda" has been a popular one lately.
  15. I'm liking string cheese and almonds as a snack. Tons of protein, keeps you full for ages. Steaming some fish like tilapia or a good salmon if you want to spend more with veggies (like broccoli, I'm totally with you there) and spices takes like 5 minutes and is delicious. Ridiculously easy. Any food allergy issues? I don't wanna suggest too much if you're lactose or glucose or whey or wheat intolerant or anything.
  16. Ben likes to change the words to popular songs when he's drunk. Two days ago, I was serenaded with "What would you do, if I peed on you?, Would you stand up and walk out on me?" Last night while playing Rock Band, he sang "Any way you want it, Anal's what you're getting, Any way you want it" What a weirdo.
  17. Jumbie's ideas seem kinda fun. More WW games particularly. Though I screwed up royally on the last one, I really had fun and feel like it was a great way to interact with people. Made me excited to be here, and more eager to post in other threads. Like a lot of people are saying, a certain degree of it is inevitable. People get close with people, and that's just the way it is. I think the idea is that maybe more should be done to foster those connections, and that would make people stick around more and be more active. And not that a certain degree of abuse isn't gonna happen, o
  18. Just a thought here... it seems the ones that are arguing more against the fact that there are cliques/putting other reasons out there for the perceived cliquishness seem to be the ones that actually are in the "in crowd." This is not to say that it's a purposeful thing, I don't think there's a conspiracy of any sort certainly, and definitely not to say they are bad people (in fact they are some of my favorite people, I really love hearing what some of you have to say. It's why I'm still here) but just to propose the idea that you might not be able to be as aware of it, or notice how much it
  19. I know what Amy's talking about. I tend not to want to say anything about it, because I always attribute it to me not being funny/interesting enough or something, but I do feel sometimes that there's no way to get integrated. I know it's gonna be attributed to me not posting enough but... I go through phases where I start to post more often, but get discouraged when it goes nowhere. I get really awkward at the idea of responding to other people's posts as well, unless they're people I know (Rachael and CJ, Ryan and Amber, and Ross mostly) because I'm never really sure it's gonna be greeted
  20. Ben did the RickRoll one to me today. Goddamnit.
  21. Brothers Super moving and very powerful. Lingers afterward.
  22. I loved A Serious Man... one of the funniest things I've seen lately, and I love that special brand of Coen Brothers humor. The ending made my brain fall out of my head for a few minutes, but once I regained my power of speech long enough to say more than "They didn't really just end it. No. There's no way that could have just ended.", I realized how much I had liked it.
  23. I'm so glad that moment was explained... It was a weird moment in the series of weird moments that was the Oscars this year. Such as George Clooney's attitude the whole time... it was weird to see him so grumpy. And Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The whole time. Being awkward. Making awkward jokes. Having awkward silences. And Sandra Bullock winning an Academy Award for playing Sandra Bullock in a movie that features Sandra Bullock. Her instead of Carey Mulligan was a travesty. Though I suppose Carey Mulligan will hopefully have tons of years and tons of roles to put her in t
