  1. That's a tough question. This is looking like a completely different game mechanically. In the end, if you like a story driven rpg (albeit quite dated translation wise) give the original a go. Hell, i say do it any way since you can find it on literally any platform now. That said, storywise, yeah you should be able to enjoy this one without having played the original. Should be a good starting point for new players. This one is looking alot more hack n slash than I anticipated. Not saying thats bad, because it looks damn fun, its just alot different. Still not sold on the two disc thing, but if anything its looking like a damn good time.
  2. So I'll be finally dipping my toes into DnD with some coworkers this week. The more I learn, the more in love with it I'm becoming. Building characters is fun as hell. I'm watching Critical Role which is fantastic and might need it's own thread (it's a bunch of voice actors playing DnD and it's mesmerizing.) I bought some dice and even some miniatures that I'm gonna paint. My first character I'm rolling is a Kenku rogue which I think will be fun\annoying (Kenkus can't talk... Only mimic what they have heard.) Who else here even plays? It's not something I see talked alot about here. Any first timers tips and resources are appreciated!
  3. These keep getting more and more batshit. Carrion looks awesome.
  4. I hear that. Game companies in general are kinda shitting the bed pretty bad right now.
  5. That's what I was wondering. It has NOT aged well. I'm pretty sure this will be a ground up thing though. This interview with the developers sounds promising:

    Bortposting

Bortposting is just Simpsons shitposting. Sometimes remixed scenes, or just new memes. But they tie into the Simpsons somehow.
  7. I was worried about this after seeing all the star power they snagged for this season. I'm gonna give them a go, but I'm the least interested in this season than I have been in any others in the past. It just didn't look great initially.
  8. Cancelled after one ep y'all. https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-swamp-thing-tv-show-has-been-cancelled-1835299761 I think they are still gonna air the rest of the season though. I was gonna sign up just for this too.

    Darksiders

Ok, so I heard DS3 was a pile of hot garbage. Basically a Dark Souls clone but made really poorly. I couldn't bring myself to spend money on it once I heard the puzzley elements were gone. BUT wait! Joe Mad's game company is making a new Darksiders spinoff game. I hate spinoff games, but this one is a Diablo-like ARPG and looks pretty sweet. I liked the Battlechasers game quite a bit, so with the new studio doing something like this I am hopeful.
  10. After rewatching Overlord I'm changing my Wolverine pick over to Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell's kid. Ok, maybe Sabretooth.
  11. Any else check this out? I was kinda disappointed. It had some cool shit, but I really was hoping they would push it further than they did, and didn't give the kid enough reason to go evil other than "I'm strong and you're not" turning him into a bully rather than a more sympathetic character like say in Chronicle.
  12. http://deathgenerator.com/#af2 Meme making gold. @Panchgo nuts. Im gonna come back with my own later.
  13. I loved how much personality the monsters had too. You had the sense that Ghidorah was really this evil being, intent on just fucking everything up. Or when Godzilla was in a fight there was a moment where Ghidorah went to get charged up with that power generator. It does a closeup of Godzilla's face where he looks down and gave a very real "oh shit" look. Like they aren't jist big dumb animals, they were smart creatures working shit out with their own quirks. Also this was the LOUDEST movie I have ever seen. My ears were seriously hurting after the movie. I blame the theater for that one. But, it certainly made it immersive.
  14. Id say they focused on the WRONG people. I like the science folks just trying to give Zilla powerup juice.
  15. Rambome Alone? Home Stallone?
  16. Oh good, I was thinking this game would be coherent. Seriously can't wait.
  17. Ehhhhh it's not as Bollywood as the trailers make it out to be. But I will say that it's definitely not whitewashed, and I think it's worth supporting at least for that. There is exactly one white person in this and his only job is to be the whitest person in the movie. Jafar is probably the worst thing about the movie. He is, unfortunately, extremely bland and forgettable.
  18. This was alot of fun. Way better than I expected. Just when it starts to slow down it picks right back up with something to rope you back in. The sequence for A Friend Like Me was fucking fantastic and really makes you want to cheer when it's over. And something about Iago, who actually may be the biggest departure from the original, was terrifying. He was sinister as hell and was a really creepy presence somehow. Alan Tudyk did a great job voicing him. The movie was a blast overall though. I loved it.
  19. Just finished it too. It's such a good season and that last villain was just great. Very much looking forward to S5 I'm especially excited to see Karen David got cast since I finished Galavant (aka GoT the musical... Major post-show depression on that one.). I don't crush on actors very often, but she is just delightful.
  20. I think something's wrong with Vince Neil. Well, more than usual.
