  1. Milly Thomson is certainly a little gem in the series. A friend lent me the series after raving about it for ages. I'm not a big anime fan so I was pretty sceptical but all in all it was reasonable. Generally I prefered it when it had more of a light hearted note - it got serious and then I mostly lost interest. Anyway, two cents said.
  2. Lenore I think has more childlike naivity whereas Johnny is all a little bit caught up in philosophy. Lenore definately trumps. Roman Dirge also fits in some other funny little stories in - including my personal favourites of 'things that have happened to me' (think urinals that take your photos in Japan) and 'The Cat with the really big head'.
  3. I like the musical musicals, but I just didn't like the idea of someone singing as if they're the character but the character on screen isn't actually singing...if you get what I mean. I mean, I liked the randy neuman stuff from the first TS movie, the whole 'you got a friend in me' which sets the mood nicely.
  4. Damn you! The british public still have MONTHS to wait before finding nemo hit's our silver screens. We're looking at an autumnal release date. But also surely Disney can't afford to even think about not renewing Pixar's contract. In my opinion the Pixar-Disney collaborations have been the best movies Disney has produced in a long time. Just tell me there aren't any singing fish in this one, Toy Story was so close to perfect if you blip out the Jesse singing bit.
  5. I dunno, Bond is little too bit slick for me with all his gadgets and slicked back hair. He has turned into a cliche. As for Indy, he's got more ...character, he makes mistakes and he's generally a bit more human. That and you've got to love the hunky archaeologist types ..
  6. ok, Indy must have had the lamb's blood on his door when the dark angel of 2track was flying overhead. But what about Indy's arch rival (and quite frankly quite a lot crapper) James Bond? What do you say to that 2track! :sly:
  7. The trilogy slag off list starwars trilogy - check Lord of the rings - check Matrix - check :mmm: ok, 2track, got any beef with the x-men movie?
  8. I just got 'cuts and livejamz 94-2002' and was wondering where the forum stood on the dear spokespeoples for the NYC anti folk scene
  9. mid week resolution; no more jealousy! I ain't big and it ain't clever! Why can't anyone be jealous of my life :!: i want to be shot green-eyed glares across the room!
  10. true all you gotta look at is who fought off christopher lee the best, gandalf all the way! (not to mention he has shadowfax, his very pretty horse in the two towers *nods*)
  11. you guys have got all the good ones (esp. the eels 'beautiful freak') but i do like this one a lot, darn good record too
  12. I'm looking through an amish cookie cookbooktrying to decide which recipe i should try out next. Anybody know a good substitute for dark molasses?
  13. 'Vannilla Sky' is pretty crap movie :plain: what was I thinking?
  14. it can only be Fight Club best movie, best acting performance by Mr. Pitt, bar-none
  15. Grosse Point Blank is excellent but Being John Malkovich is better. (maybe i'm getting confused between the best acting performances and the best movies )
  16. Big Lebowski gets my vote! I would have gone for Ghost World but i've only seen it the once so i don't think i'm in any position to pass judgement until i've seen it what?...10 times! Fargo also came close, if only for the observation 'kinda funny-looking'. But out of all the charecters Donny was my favourite 'I am the walrus?' Though i guess it could only be classed as a cameo ???
  17. Monty Python songs are timeless! But I did like Chris T's 'Dreaming of injured popstars' '......and it only took one match to burn down Kelly Jones!'
  18. Haha, going to go see Vex Red on monday (techniquely I'm not going specifically for Vex red but actually Reuben and the mightly Biffy Clyro are supporting! wahoo) Also rumour has it the the Biffy will be supporting Idlewild on the december tour
  19. I got turned off Cabaret when I had to watch it multiple times for an english language paper! I'm in quite a musical mood actually. My college is doing 'Barnum' for it's christmas production (i'm in the chorus! ) ..ANYBODY GOT ANY TIPS FOR LEARNING HOW TO JUGGLE?
  20. West Side Story would be the obvious choice, but it's Fiddler on the Roof for me (just for the bit where the guys dance with bottles on their heads!)
  21. MPBs round-up is pretty much the same as mine (we saw a lot of the same bands together). Trail of Dead had the one set that is most predominantly burned in my mind, with my most rock and roll moment of getting stuck under the thrown drum and then digging my nails into the security guards hand to get him to release his grip from it (yes, I drew blood with my nails and yes he tried to take a swing at me!) Totally Natural live though was amazing and it being one of my favourite Trail of Dead songs. Aphex twin was far better then I expected (though I had no idea what to expect!) and was one of the most intoxicating moment of the festival. I'm not much of a dance music fan on record and this is my first real live experience of it and it was just great. Vines were great apart from getting pulled down (and piled on) a couple of times! I ended up having my first crowd-surfing experience to Capdown (one of the weirdest feelings of the weekend) and MPB very kindly put me up on his shoulders for the Electric Soft Parade, who were very good and refreshingly indie after the madness of the Vines crowd, also doing a awesome Folk Implosion cover. Being at the barrier for most of the Breeders was cool too (though no pixies was played, but a Cannonball was great). Also when MPB was off seeing NOFX, Amen, Slipknot and Incubus on the Sunday, I ended up going and seeing Biffy Clyro (who were rocky as hell and just as great with it being my 2nd time seeing them), Six by Seven (pretty dull though I did run into Alex White from the Electric Soft Parade afterwards), Haven (surprisingly good, plus the singer has one hell of a voice) and Easyworld (couldn't see a bloody thing and they didn't even play '100 Weight'). General consensus good with some awesome moments just during the camping bit of it, including plastic lightsaber fights, the 'Yellow Lollipop' song and exploding cans of lager on the campfire.
  22. Great news with the prospect of Bright Eyes and Idlewild doing tours in autumn. I've already got tickets for the Bright Eyes show in London and am looking for Idlewild to announce some other then the Coldplay support slots (you americans can have them next year!) Also the Reading Festival is coming up this weekend so you're bound to get some very long posts from MLB and myself about how that went (for the americans it's a HUGE 3-day festival with the Strokes, Foo Fighters and Prodigy headlining the main stage)
  23. Cheers IC for doing the profile (Under preacher group too - I belong!) You da mayn! :frontman:
  24. What about conversation and tussles with Susie in class and bus stop dramas. Susie + Calvin = ?
