  1. That made my fucking day baytor. If I'm lucky I may get the Knoll back tomorrow, I can't stand to be away from you guys.
  2. Cheers 2track, I love to relax with some good dub m'self. KOS already posted my favorite of theirs ('Doolittle'), but I always preferred this one's cover. Very subtle, darkly sexy: Haunting, foreboding, fits the album perfectly (IC, did you get a chance to listen to this yet, if so, what'd ya think?):
  3. And the deluxe edition, with the case designed to look like a lighter: A few from My Bloody Valentine:
  4. Good call, MM. Nothing beats Bob's early years. Currently listening to: Th Smiths - This Charming Man Punctured bicycle On a hillside desolate Will nature make a man of me yet ? When in this charming car This charming man Why pamper life's complexity When the leather runs smooth On the passenger seat ? I would go out tonight But I haven't got a stitch to wear This man said "it's gruesome That someone so handsome should care" Ah ! A jumped-up pantry boy Who never knew his place He said "return the ring" He knows so much about these things He knows so much about these things I would go out tonight But I haven't got a stitch to wear This man said "it's gruesome That someone so handsome should care" La, la-la, la-la, la-la, this charming man ... Oh, la-la, la-la, la-la, this charming man ... Ah ! A jumped-up pantry boy Who never knew his place He said "return the ring" He knows so much about these things He knows so much about these things He knows so much about these things
  5. Yo IC, just finished up through issue 258, and craving more. I was kinda confused when Serpico went and acted the prick, challenging Guts to a duel and all. His motive wasn't even that clear...was he trying to protect Farney from being hurt by Guts in the event that he lost control of the Berserker armor? Anyways, I thought he'd have more sense than to challenge the black swordsman to a one-on-one. So this series is still running in Japan, huh? No end in sight? I just hope Miura can pull together a good ending. I'm not expecting anything too happy, this being a gothic fantasy and all, maybe the best I can hope for is a tragedy with some sort of silver lining. 'Course, if I were to write the ending, it would consist of Guts ripping Griffith a new vagina, then proceeding to brutally rape and kill that smiling little Sonia girl that follows Griffith around (god, I hate her), then riding off into the sunset with a fully recovered Caska to live with all the elves. Too optimistic? Send me along those improved translations if ya can, I'll replace your blank CD's (got a great big stock). Cheers dude. P.S. panch, yeah, was thinkin' the same thing about a live-action Berserk. Would hafta be a particular story arc or an offshoot maybe, no way to condense something that epic into a single film.
  6. ^Love it Jax. Who caught the 'Let's Nab Oprah' episode? Was pretty funny, I liked Ed and Rummy's exchange on "nigga technology"... The action scenes were cool too, left me craving one of Huey's shock gloves.
  7. I agree with FireDownBelow, The Shining deserves to be up there. Not often that a movie is better than the book it's based upon. And then there's my all-time favorite horror flick, Videodrome. Still, nice list MM, only entries I disagree with are Pet Semetary and Poltergeist...blech.
  8. Is it cool if we've never heard a lot of these people? I'll just put an N/A by all the ones I'm not familiar with. 1) The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop 2) Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On 3) Creedence Clearwater Revival - N/A 4) James Brown - N/A 5) Buddy Holly - N/A 6) Stone Temple Pilots - N/A 7) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama (only song I know by them) 8) Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (haven't listened to 'em in a while though) 9) Sade - N/A 10) The Clash - Hateful 11) Queen - Another One Bites the Dust (again, 's been a while) 12) The Specials - International Jet Set
  9. I'm going to see Steel Pulse in March, when they drop by St. Petersburg. I....don't blame ya'll if you have no idea who they are...
  10. Alright, I stand corrected. Prolly should've actually looked up the lyrics. Last night's episode was just ok. I wasn't really digging it til MLK's speech at the end.
  11. Nick Cave - The Curse of Millhaven I live in a town called Millhaven And it's small and it's mean and it's cold But if you come around just as the sun goes down You can watch the whole town turn to gold It's around about then that I used to go a-roaming Singing La la la la La la la lie All God's children they all gotta die My name is Loretta but I prefer Lottie I'm closing in on my fifteenth year And if you think you have seen a pair of eyes more green Then you sure didn't see them around here My hair is yellow and I'm always a-combing La la la la La la la lie Mama often told me we all got to die You must have heard about The Curse Of Millhaven How last Christmas Bill Blake's little boy didn't come home They found him next week in One Mile Creek His head bashed in and his pockets full of stones Well, just imagine all the wailing and moaning La la la la La la la lie Even little Billy Blake's boy, he had to die Then Professor O'Rye from Millhaven High Found nailed to his door his prize-winning terrier Then next day the old fool brought little Biko to school And we all had to watch as he buried her His eulogy to Biko had all the tears a-flowing La la la la La la la lie Even God's little creatures, they have to die Our little town fell into a state of shock A lot of people were saying things that made little sense Then the next thing you know the head of Handyman Joe Was found in the fountain of the Mayor's residence Foul play can really get a small town going La la la la La la la lie Even God's children all have to die Then, in a cruel twist of fate, old Mrs Colgate Was stabbed but the job was not complete The last thing she said before the cops pronounced her dead Was, "My killer is Loretta and she lives across the street!" Twenty cops burst through my door without even phoning La la la la La la la lie The young ones, the old ones, they all gotta die Yes, it is I, Lottie. The Curse Of Millhaven I've struck horror in the heart of this town Like my eyes ain't green and my hair ain't yellow It's more like the other way around I gotta pretty little mouth underneath all the foaming La la la la La la la lie Sooner or later we all gotta die Since I was no bigger than a weavil they've been saying I was evil That if "bad" was a boot that I'd fit it That I'm a wicked young lady, but I've been trying hard lately O fuck it! I'm a monster! I admit it! It makes me so mad my blood really starts a-going La la la la La la la lie Mama always told me that we all gotta die Yeah, I drowned the Blakey kid, stabbed Mrs. Colgate, I admit Did the handyman with his circular saw in his garden shed But I never crucified little Biko, that was two junior high school psychos Stinky Bohoon and his friend with the pumpkin-sized head I'll sing to the lot, now you got me going La la la la La la la lie All God's children have all gotta die There were all the others, all our sisters and brothers You assumed were accidents, best forgotten Recall the children who broke through the ice on Lake Tahoo? Everyone assumed the "Warning" signs had followed them to the bottom Well, they're underneath the house where I do quite a bit of stowing La la la la La la la lie Even twenty little children, they had to die And the fire of '91 that razed the Bella Vista slum There was the biggest shit-fight this country's ever seen Insurance companies ruined, land lords getting sued All cause of wee girl with a can of gasoline Those flames really roared when the wind started blowing La la la la La la la lie Rich man, poor man, all got to die Well I confessed to all these crimes and they put me on trial I was laughing when they took me away Off to the asylum in an old black Mariah It ain't home, but you know, it's fucking better than jail It ain't such bad old place to have a home in La la la la La la la lie All God's children they all gotta die Now I got shrinks that will not rest with their endless Rorschach tests I keep telling them they're out to get me They ask me if I feel remorse and I answer, "Why of course! There is so much more I could have done if they'd let me!" So it's Rorschach and Prozac and everything is groovy Singing La la la la La la la lie All God's children they all have to die La la la la La la la lie I'm happy as a lark and everything is fine Singing La la la la La la la lie Yeah, everything is groovy and everything is fine Singing La la la la La la la lie All God's children they gotta die
  12. This is quickly becoming my favorite show on Adult Swim, and possibly my favorite show on television. Random humor just really does it for me, I guess. Carl cracks me up the most, and Shake and Meatwad are hilarious. Those mooninite guys are great too. I'm officially addicted.
  13. So far my favorite episode has been the R. Kelly trial. The gas station shootout, christmas special, and the last pimp-my-ride episode have all been pure class too, and the MLK episode looks like it'll be great. And yes, the theme song indeed kicks ass. I am the stone that the builder refused I am the visual, the inspiration that made ladies sing the blues somethin', somethin'.... I am the ballot in your box, the bullet in your gun And I'ma remain a soldier, til the war is won chuck chuck chuck Eh...couldn't resist.

  16. Same here. Wait, you mean White Moon right? Otherwise I dunno what you're talking about. I can't get that album or their White Blood Cells album outta my head. Obsessed with the Pixies as usual...
  17. We're Going To Be Friends- The White Stripes Fall is here, hear the yell back to school, ring the bell brand new shoes, walking blues climb the fence, books and pens I can tell that we're going to be friends Walk with me, Suzy Lee through the park and by the tree we will rest upon the ground and look at all the bugs we found then safely walk to school without a sound Well here we are, no one else we walked to school all by ourselves there's dirt on our uniforms from chasing all the ants and worms we clean up and now its time to learn Numbers, letters, learn to spell nouns, and books, and show and tell at playtime we will throw the ball back to class, through the hall teacher marks our height against the wall And we don't notice any time pass we don't notice anything we sit side by side in every class teacher thinks that I sound funny but she likes the way you sing Tonight I'll dream while in my bed when silly thoughts go through my head about the bugs and alphabet and when I wake tomorrow I'll bet that you and I will walk together again cause I can tell that we're going to be friends

  20. Never underestimate the power of makeup...
  21. I loved Ico. It was the closest the videogame medium has ever come to a work of art, and Colossus looks even more beautiful. Can't wait to get my hands on this bitch.
  22. "Tame" by the Pixies got hips like cinderella must be having a good shame talking sweet about nothing cookie i think you're tame i'm making good friends with you when you're shaking your good frame fall on your face in those bad shoes lying there like you're tame uh huh huh tame
  23. The first episode was great. If they keep it up, this'll quickly become one of the best shows on AS.
  24. And now the purple dusk of twilight time Steals across the meadows of my heart High up in the sky the little stars climb Always reminding me that we’re apart You wander down the lane and far away Leaving me a song that will not die Love is now the stardust Of yesterday The music Of the years Gone by Sometimes I wonder why I spend The lonely nights Dreaming of a song. The melody haunts my reverie And I am once again with you. When our love was new, and each kiss an inspiration. But that was long ago, and now my consolation Is in the stardust of a song. Beside the garden wall, when stars are bright You are in my arms The nightingale tells his fairy tale Of paradise where roses grew. Though I dream in vain, in my heart you will remain My stardust melody The memory of love’s refrain.
