  1. This movie may have bankrupted like half the studios who worked on it, but whenever I see it I am blown away, the movie is 30 years old now, and it still looks better than 99% of anime movies made since.
  2. Gotham Knights had a couple of great ones, but a lot of medicore ones. It's kidna like how I felt about the Animatrix, I adored like 4 of the ones there (Ghost House, Last flight of the Osiris, The noir one with Trinity, and the Ninja scroll one) the rest I could take or leave. I can barely remember any of the ones in Gothan Knights. The Green Lantern: Emerald Knights anthology, now that one was dope!
  3. The movies are OK, the first two are retelling the original series, so I kinda skimmed them. Rebellion is good, but still not sure how I feel about it it's damned gorgeous though.
  4. So, this is a thing apparently. Ghost written by Akira Yoshida. But seriously it's apparently done by the guys who did Jojo's. It looks a hell of a lot better than the Animatrix Batman from like a decade ago. Pretty hyped.
  5. Outside of the first two episodes this has probably been the most consistently good rebels has ever been. Kanan's death flag is set though, no way he makes it off of Lothal.
  6. Kinda more excited for this than Episode 8 TBH. And no way Kanan makes it out of this season alive
  7. Long story trailer is out, subtitled. Spoilers for Yak 5 of course. Goddamn, that's Kojima levels of a badass trailer right there. Also, here is the gameplay trailer:
  8. Early 2017. Right as it gets to the good stuff too.
  9. The problem is, Nintendo is a freakishly conservative company at heart, the Wii and DS were a serious case of right place/right time, and the handheld market shrunk by what, 75% this gen? Not to mention the console market doesn't really seem to have room for a third viable platform. Consolidating the markets seems attractive, but unless there is a real game changer when it comes to features, I'm just not sure that the market is looking for a hybrid. And if Nintendo can't get their production pipeline sorted, they will be sunk anyway. This is a hail mary, I just don't find it being a success horribly likely. The big question is going to be price, if it can't come in under the PS4 or the Bone, it is going to have issues.
  10. So Baffleck just put this up on his instagram: No one is sure if this is just for JL, or if it might also be a tease for the solo Batman movie.
  11. You sir, are not a subscriber!!! YOU DON'T KNOW OUR PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is a thing?
  12. At least he's Constantine in the new Justice League Dark animated movie. But yeah, he just owns that role.
  13. Well, this should be long into the course correction going on at DC right now, so hopes are high. Also rumors are floating about that Spanish actress Eiza Gonzalez might be in for Zatanna. Yup.
  14. From Variety A while back there were rumors on the casting for the film: It got the producer right, but if they just got this new director, I wonder if the cast was done early, or if like a lot of Latino Review it was BS. Either way the characters they will be using seem awesome. Now, if they only would cast Bill Burr as Deadman my life would be complete.
  15. I just hope that Season 2 is as good as Season 1 was. Honestly I really felt the show could have ended at episode 8, and I would have been fine with it. I loved the show, no doubt, but far too often some shows with amazing first seasons (Heroes, True Detective, and Twin Peaks come to mind) have just plain awful second seasons, I worry less when the first season gets slowly better and finishes strong, but when a show is just amazing from the get go, like this was, I just worry that they might be out of juice.
  16. Eh, so far I prefer the Warburton one, it felt more in line with the crazy jokey comics, and Batmanuel is amazing. Still, I did laugh and some of the jokes were great. It feels more like a parody of the serious superhero stuff like the Nolan flicks and Daredevil. Not completely sold, but I'd be willing to watch more.
  17. So this is happening, Adam West and Burt Ward return. I'm game.
  18. So yeah, new Metal Gear Announced! Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself. Konami was quoted as saying: "The world calls for survival games, and we answer! No greater good. No just cause!"
  19. If X-23 is in this, I really hope they do her right.
  20. You need Joker in the movie if only to provide context for Harley Quinn, more than anyone else her origin is tied to another character, Her flashbacks were absolutely necessary for the character, I think they were a bit clipped, and could have used some more time to breathe. As for Leto. I quite liked his portrayal, it's a version of Joker we haven't seen yet, Joker the gangster, which is another valid take. Hell, the club scene felt ripped right out of Azzarello's Joker book, and I really did like that interpretation. The thing is, Joker can be so many damned things there is no ONE perfect take (though Hamil is probably the most iconic) Cesar Romero got the wacky silver age Joker down, Nicholson did the whole Clown Prince of Crime angle, and Ledger just blew me away as the cold calculating agent of Chaos with bits of Killing Joke thrown in. Leto's Joker is close to the Frank Miller and Grant Morrison Joker, brutal, obsessive, and uncomfortably sexual. He's creepy and unpredictable, and works great in the film. It's nice to have an unhinged egotistical crime boss Joker after all this time.
  21. Crisis on Infinite Earths is probably my favorite linewide crossover of all time. Great art, amazing moments, and it just feels epic in a way that no other crossover ever has.
  22. This summer hasn't been kind to poorly marketed movies. Star Trek Beyond also suffered from some horrible trailers and is not doing well at the BO either. Ghostbusters, if properly marketed probably could have done a lot better. But those trailers were BAD and created a bad first impression of the movie. Then again $144 million for a Fieg movie is really damned high, I was looking at his previous budgets, and neither came close. Considering how much they've been talking sequels, those are probably safe if Blu Ray sales are good.
