  1. I didn't know they were going to do a season two. I enjoyed how season one wrapped up all nice and neat, though. I always appreciate that in a show. I really dug the noir feel to this. It gave me a Bladerunner kind of vibe with some Elysium thrown in. Whoo boy, and the moral conundrums it raises. I find myself thinking about that sometimes, which is a mark of a good show, I think. I was so sad to see what happened to Edgar though. He was my favorite character.
  2. You know, I completely forgot about the stand up specials. So many. Most of them are really good too. I've had more fun with the standup specials than some of the shows too. Iliza Schlesinger has a new one. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet. It doesn't top her 'party goblin' bit but it's still really good
  3. I too was bummed not to see Jane. I liked Jane. Her and Daria's relationship seemed real. But I can see why they would go with Jodie. Daria was very much a product of it's time and I think they are still going for that vibe. Women are speaking up and more women of color are speaking up.
  4. Now that I can agree with. They're pumping out a huge amount of content though so it's been hit and miss.
  5. Eh...not interested. The art style is throwing me off. Plus, trite premise and so been done. Especially with fantasy. I think I'll skip it.
  6. Oh, and I think we all took a pretty hard line of child porn or even anything resembling it. I seem to recall there was a whole thing with a user called Lorelei.
  7. Wait, there's a new season? Ah. I must binge!!!!!! Or do you want me to wait for you, Ryan? Thoguh, with my new schedule, I must warn you I have no clue when it will happen. I've secretly been watching Babish without you Goddammit. I got all excited for nothing. Grumble.
  8. I just started watching this. Some moments are so ridiculously over the top that they make me cringe but for anyone who has worked retail, its vindication. You can point at the TV on yell, SEE! SEE! at the top of your lungs to the people who otherwise wouldn't understand.
  9. Ah, I didn't know this about Iggy. I liked some of her stuff. Pity. With that extended explanation, I see what your saying about Herby. She does lay it on thick in her vocabulary and such, but I really don't think she's doing it with her appearance. She looks like my sister. Maybe that's why.
  10. I'm going to assume it was EDM cause that's what WIkipedia told me and I had zero interest in listening to it. I was specifically trolling for hip hop and rap when I found her. Why do you assume that she isn't a natural brunette? Perhaps the blonde was a result of haircolor and not vice versa. I'd say you are being overly sensitive. Cause I was picking up a Gothic vibe from her look rather than trying to come across like Rachel Whatshername that had to step down from the NAACP. Explain your comment about Iggy, please. You know I live under a rock.
  11. Pics!! I've considering getting this for my son for Christmas
  12. So, apparently she was in an EDM duo back int he day called Karmin. Never heard of them but I discovered this on YouTube and I can't get enough of her now.
  13. If you're highly sensitive, then I am too. Cause I would post topics that I thought were hot, relevant, and interesting only to watch them peter out after two or three posts if they garnered any attention at tall. It often left me wondering why. Then comes the spiral of insecurity which ultimately led me to believe I was just a boring, basic bitch with nothing of any merit to add to a topic. So, you aren't alone. And I apologize if it seemed like I was putting words in your mouth. I wasn't trying to. I was just grasping for a reason. But I understand your complaint. I think the truly important thing was you called us out on it.
  14. Maybe let me rephrase this... I don't think their place deliberately alienates women. Nor do any of the users. However, when I pop in its comics, movies, politics, TV I love you guys, but I don't want to talk about that shit. I can talk about that to Ryan any time I want. And do. I want to talk about books. I want to talk about religion. I want to talk about raising my kids. Recipes. Meal planning. Budgets. Home ownership. I want to discuss home improvement, do it yourself projects. I want to discuss the things that are currently relevant to my life. Entertainment takes a backseat these days. So, perhaps its not my gender and I'm simply attributing it to that because my interests currently align with those historically considered feminine. Which hearkens back to your comments about this mostly being an entertainment forum. Maybe...maybe she was just looking for too much here? We've all had some fairly deep convos in the past, but is that really the norm?
  15. Tell her I said Happy Birthday. I post on here infrequently and she's not on my FB so... You know what I think the problem is? There's not much left to say. Most of us have known each other for years. We share similar opinions on movies, comics, politics, life, etc. There's a little discussion but you can only post, "Yeah, what they said!" so many times. Most of the users that brought real conflict don't post any longer. It's not her. Also, I don't think you guys realize how...hmm...alienating this place can be for vagina type people.
  16. I think you've just found Ryan's newest pass.
  17. Ooooh, that's nice. It reminds me of something I heard on the radio the other day.
  18. See, that part, about not knowing where this season is headed... It feels more all over the place than the first one. I'm withholding judgement but I'm not enjoying it quite as much as the first one. Also, I still disagree with Ryan about the first season not being written tight enough.
  19. Ryan, as usual, this my opinion of this movie is dead wrong and I think he's a fool. But, hey, opinion are like assholes, right? Thor is more comical. I like it...but I have difficulty pinpointing the evolution. The music is growing on me. I didn't like the first half hour though. The scene with Odin and Loki just felt too abrupt and not organic. And last qualm, am I the only one who felt like I was watching two different movies? One dealing with Hela and one dealing with Thor's issue on the gladiator planet? So, not the best film I've ever seen, but fun and enjoyable. Would definitely watch again
  20. Pfft. Didn't like it enough to watch it again and certainly not enough to watch a sequel or a reboot or whatever the fuck it is. Read the book and you'll still feel the same way. Phillip K. Dick can go suck one
  21. Ah, I'm jealous!! I've read both his books and made a point to watch Fanboys. Though, I so dig his spoken word.
  22. We had a discussion about this and I still disagree with you about A Serious Man. So, are these listed in order of rank? Cause I wouldn't put There Will Be Blood at number one. I mean..it was good, but also, it wasn't. It's difficult for me to explain properly. At times I found it slightly confusing, possibly due to editing? And I felt it overly long. But...40 Year Old Virgin doesn't belong up there. That being said, I liked it. If you look at it as something other than a comedy. It failed as a comedy, but I think it really was a sweet movie in it's own way.
  23. Ah, I had no idea they were turning this into a movie. I'd like to see it. The book was pretty good. I'd recommend it.
