you know SB, musing over this, it's actually possible you're right about the love story stuff.
You see after I bought The first graphic novel, due to lack of funds there was a six month gap
before i got the second.
I must have read this a least a hundred times in that space of time.

and it contained everything i loved about preacher in abundance, Cass and Jesse's friendship,The Saint,really dark humour and an extreme lack of love story.
Then I got a job and picked the rest up in a couple of months,these then ran together and
i suppose because of this i was able to kinda phase out the love story and concentrate
on, Cass and Jesse's friendship, The Saint and really dark humour.
That was until the end of alamo, when there's nuthin' but love story,
and there's nothin' for me to grab onto.
Also, and this may be 'cos he was my favourite character, but i really hated the way he went with Cass.
But that was at least original, so i could've lived with that, but when he did go that way Cass should've died and not come back, there was no reason for it.
Surely ye'd at least agree that Cass, Tulip and Jesse (twice) all dying and
coming back is annoying.
Finally I always wondered about the fact that God had the power to take away Jesse's word and bring Tulip
back to life, why did'nt he just kill jesse, when all he needed was Jesse dead
