  1. I saw there was an update, and scrolled through the posts saw a post from Stilly from April and liked it, then realised it was April 2019. Ah well, same thing.
  2. Yeah just finished Avenue 5, I definitely enjoyed it, some fantastic characters and episodes, but I wouldn't quite put it in the same category as what I mentioned above. I'm still looking forward to season 2 though. Speaking of scifi, I need to pop into the Picard thread to break down the season.
  3. I assume this is US only? Share the love America! Ye both need to start Veep though, highly, highly recommend. Definitely one of the best sitcoms I've ever seen. It was made by Armando Iannucci (the co creator of Alan Partridge) as a spiritual successor to The Thick of It, another phenomenal show. Also in the same family (though none of these are canonically related) is In The Loop, another masterpiece. And now that I'm on an Iannucci kick here's a show I pushed a few times on here before, The Day Today, it also features Alan Partridge's first tv appearances.
  4. I love that guy. I assume these are Animal Crossing references? The joy of his stuff though is that even if you don't get what he's referencing it's still almost always hilarious.
  5. Looks like an early proto suit. Liking it though. The rumour is that this is Bats in the second year of his career, and that the story is a loose adaptation of The Long Halloween.
  6. Liam has no fucking clue what a Hellblazer or Constantine are. He has purchased Wytches but not read it yet, and is intrigued by Swamp Thing (because Wes Craven did the movie) but not read my copies yet. I wish I had an older brother with a relatively respectful comic collection just sitting waiting to be read.
  7. Just watched the first episode. I was nervously optimistic going in, but I really liked it. It was wasn't wall to wall explosions and fighting like I feared (though it has both), it seems happy to take it's time and introduce us to where Picard is now and what has happened to him and the Federation since Nemesis. That said, a lot happens in this episode, and not everything works. But overall I was really pleased that it feels like the Jean Luc Picard we love, and I'm very much looking forward to next week's episode.
  8. You already know my thoughts. I like them, but not as much as you. Roxanne is a genuine classic though
  9. It's been on my list for a while. Like you, everyone I know that's seen it raves about it. There's only so many hours in a day though, but I'm definitely looking forward to watching it.
  10. Cheers, hopefully we get a few more lists. I always look forward to these threads.
  11. What was your favorite live event (concert, sporting event, play, festival, convention, etc.) you attended in 2019? It has to be my directorial stage debut earlier this year, when I directed two one act plays. It was a nerve wracking but exhilarating experience. Favorite musical artist of 2019? According to Spotify it was The Beatles. My favourite artist that I discovered in 2019 was My Morning Jacket. What song did you hit “repeat” on the most in 2019? Deadhead (Live at the Royal Albert Hall) by Devin Townsend. No hyperbole, it's the greatest live vocal I've ever heard. Favorite book and/or comic you read in 2019? and Favorite hour long TV show you binge watched in 2019? The greatest saga in tv history rumbles on, and I remain riveted. Favorite half-hour long TV show you binge watched in 2019? I know it didn't strictly stick to 30 minutes, but it was usually around the 30 mark. Such an amazing show, I binged all three seasons in five days. Favorite hour long TV show you watched week to week in 2019? I don't really do week to week anymore, but despite it's ending it would still have to be Game of Thrones. There were still some great moments interspersed with the crap. Favorite half-hour long TV show you watched week to week in 2019? I got nothing. Favorite animated series of 2019? I need to watch more cartoons. Favorite animated film of 2019? I need to watch more cartoons. Favorite documentary (film or series) of 2019? Jaw dropping. Favorite comedy film of 2019? I didn't see a lot of movies this year, so maybe Favorite action and/or sci-fi film of 2019? Favorite drama and/or romance film of 2019? Despite the over reliance on Taxi Driver and King of Comedy, it was still a beautifully shot, well acted movie. Favorite video game of 2019? Easiest question so far, it's knocked Skyrim off my all time number 1 spot. It had everything I look for in a game. Favorite YouTube channel in 2019? Joe Rogan What’s your favorite/most used app on your smartphone in 2019? Spotify Who is the one entertainer that died in 2019 you’d bring back? (There can be only one!) Stan Lee, I suppose. I don't really get overly emotional when aged musicians die. What was your 2019 like as depicted in emojis or a single .gif? What entertainment experience (concert, film, TV show, game, etc.) are you most looking forward to in 2020? With great anticipation comes great trepidation.
  12. I'm glad to hear that, because I want to like it, and I'll definitely still go in the next week or so.
  13. I haven't had a chance to go yet, but the general consensus seems to be:
  14. I literally only saw Wonder Woman for the first time last week, I thought it was excellent. Basically a better version of The First Avenger crossed with a better version of the first Thor. Really looking forward to this now.
  15. So is this recommended or not? I don't mind ambiguity, but I hate storylines that are unresolved/abandoned/forgotten about (Lost).
  16. I used to love playing indoor soccer with my brothers and a few neighbours, but I tore my achilles tendon a few years back and I still feel it twinge from time to time when I stretch. I also have a bad knee due to my obesity. I've lost three stone in the last year though, and hope to get down to a healthy weight in the next year, so I'm hopeful to ease back in to it sometime next over the next 12 months or so. I completely agree with you though that it's so much more fun than solo jogging.
  17. I enjoyed the original, and have Innocence but never got round to watching it. I've heard great things about Stand Alone Complex, does it still hold up for you?
  18. Published from 1991 to 2004, Smith’s Bone series ran for a total of 55 issues and went on to earn numerous awards including ten Eisner Awards and eleven Harvey Awards.
  19. See THAT, combined with original MCU content is why I'll probably have to bite the bullet. When it's eventually available over here of course.
  20. I'm not familiar with the character at all. But that girl does not look white to me.
  21. Just let it go Drifter. Pick a thread or start a new one and get discussing shit again, it's literally the point of the forum. No one's interested in starting drama or taking things to fight club anymore, we've moved beyond that. I don't think there's a single active member here under 30, can we* start acting our age? *By "we" I mean "you".
  22. So we'll at least get one more movie and then another appearance somewhere. My gut is telling me that that could be it though. It's clear he'll be joining the Spideyverse now as well. So will he remain in both, or transition out of the MCU I wonder? At least if that's the case, they can end his MCU story properly.
  23. You so do, only BTAS (plus Beyond and Supes) keeps it off the number 1 spot of best animated kids shows of the 90's for me. It's probably the only show I've revisited from my childhood that was better than I had remembered. Off topic, and for another thread, but I just realised that Superman the Animated series is by far my favourite iteration of the character. In fact, it's the only one I can say I'm a fan of.
