Ok, many times we talked about it and I understand why you guys dont usually read manga. Some dont like the style, some dont have time, and some dont have the money to buy/follow all the shit that is published these days. But since we already agreed that a comic is a comic (it doesnt matter its origin) and there are many styles outside the conventional cliché stuff, I'm going to make a final effort to make you read more manga. I invite Newtype to join this thread and recommend some titles to you as well. The point of this, as I said already, is to get your curiosity arised to the point that you can pick up a volume, read it and say: damn, boogie was right. This is entertaining and interesting. And I guess it would be a major sucess if I get Alive She Cried and JZA to read some manga (what! let a man have a dream. Even if its improbable). Ok, for starters Im going to be redommending mostly Seinen (wich is manga for adults. Think Vertigo for Manga), because thats what I've been buying -mostly- in the last 5 years. The first title wich im going to recommend here is: Dorohedoro. Viz Media, 8 volumes as 1/2013, Print edition: $12.99/Digital edition: $5.99. In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they'll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds. HERE you can read the first chapter for free. [For those worried about reading in the wrong way, I tell you: You get used to it really fast.] This is one of my favourites right now. The story and the art really complement each other and each book that I read leaves me wanting for more. I really want to know who Caiman really is and see how Nikkaido is gonna react when she finds out (the future is looking more and more grimly with each clue that is given). Anyways, suspense, a mature story, brutal art and a little bit of nudity makes Dorohedoro my first recommendation to you guys. Ps: It would be nice is this thread is pinned. Thanks.
