spiffytee Posted January 20, 2003 Share Posted January 20, 2003 I always wanted to see this cause of our familiar hero, russel crowe. As always, he does great and here, he is absolutely a bad-ass. The story here is about an engineer that was kidnapped in south america by a militant group. The sect used to be religious or anti-govt (of which i can't remember, but isn't important) and have turned to making cocane and kidnapping for funds. His wife is played by Meg Ryan. The insurance company that covers kidnapping sends crowe (soldier/negotiator) to help. As aadil has stated, "the movie is split between three main roles." Crowe, ryan, and that guy from the rock, second in command to ed harris. So even though it presents interesting worlds of thought, it does not stand out as something great. It is entertaining though.
