The NZA Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 Just found out about this one from Wizard this month, checked it out... First off, its an unknown MacLeod and its in the future, so its kinda like Highlander meets Mad Max, drawn by the guys from Ninja Scroll. The action's good, the plot...its really bare-bones, default-anime stuff. You get the Macleod guy who's taking vengence for things done thousands of years ago, and flashes back to various points in time when he tried before....now, its the dystopian future society with hookers-with-hearts-of-gold and spunky kids with slingshots and there might was well be robots. Its fun, and its entirely forgettable. The weirdest addition to the mythos was the concept of mortals having past lives, in some weird, xenogears-kinda way, which was sorta arbitrarily tacked on by the end so that's pretty much it: fun here & there, looks great, really couldve had the same affect with a different name/franchise since - and this is my fault for being such a fan of the show and, uh, original movie - it had nothing to do with any characters youve ever heard of.
