  1. Taco Bell around here added something called the "Cantina Bell" menu which is higher quality items for shortened hours at a higher price. They actually have a naturally vegan item now and I can eat taco bell without hating myself a little each time now

  2. Also, if you're super lazy, the Sonic Drive-In fast food chain has recently started carrying sweet potato tots but I never trust the oil at a fast food place.

  3. I'm not a fan of sweet potato used the way it frequently is. I like it in casseroles and baked and sometimes as fries but not as part of a "combination" food like tacos (combination meaning foods that are essentially a mixture of basic ingredients with little actual cooking of the completed dish, most of tex-mex ends up in this category)

  4. Right about that same time though, Bocca turned like 90 % of their products totally vegan. And honestly, I think they taste better anyway. I'm addicted to the soy crumbles - I use them at least once a week now.

Yeah, I use the crumbles frequently too. My enchilada bake wouldn't be the same without them. That said I have a rule that I can only use meat substitutes every other week. Helps a lot with the nutrition levels.

  5. Morningstar makes me sad. They used to be so good and then out of nowhere decided. "Our food doesn't have enough EGG, vegans should be eating more aborted chicken embryo" and like 90% of their stuff become non-vegan safe

  6. Here's something simple to get us away from the meat grossness.

    Super lazy vegan food

    2 slices rye bread

    sauerkraut

    soy swiss

thousand island (making sure it doesn't have egg obviously)

    vegan margerine

I think you can figure the rest out ^_^

    Really tasty vegan Reuben.

  7. I'm not vegan, not even close, but post surgery, I have eaten less and less meat -- however, since I need to eat things high in protein, I wonder if its possible to eat this way and still get what I need (minimum of 60g per day)...

Aarty, you can get more protein from veg than meat. The protein per 200 calories is much higher in many vegetables over meats. Check out this list http://www.myfit.ca/foods_highest_protein.asp

So 9 of the top 20 are vegan with Soy Protein at #1

  8. I'll post some recipes for you Sin, though you might have seen them before. If you're ever in the DFW area, check out The Veggie Garden. This place is awesome, I'm down there at least once a week and more if I can afford it. The foods delicous and the owner Joy is awesome ^_^.

I'll also toss out one of my favorite soup recipes. Its incredibly simple but really really tasty.

    Home-style noodle soup

    1 tbsp Olive Oil

    1 large onion chopped

    2 medium carrots chopped

    1 Celery stalk diced

    6 cups vegetable stock

    pinch of turmeric

salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

6 oz fettucini broken into thirds

    1 tbsp minced fresh parsley

In a large saucepan, heat the oil and add the onion, carrots, and celery.

Cover and, stirring occasionally, cook 5 minutes.

Add stock, salt, pepper, and turmeric.

Bring to boil then reduce to low heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 min.

Add noodles and cook till tender (about 10 min)

stir in the parsley and taste to adjust seasoning.

    Simmer 5 more minutes.

    Serve.

  9. So, the player I wasn't sure of? ECL 19. So that means our party is ECL 14 x2(not really) ECL 19, ECL 13 x3 and ECL 12....

Average Party level? 14. Even if you factor in the brokenness of the ECL 14 characters as actually being ECL 16. But then that means 3 people are 2-5 levels above what the rest of the party can handle >.<

  10. They've responded to any attempt to work with them to fix their characters with calls of "witch hunt" and threatening to leave the game. They've been with us in our monthly game since the spring. The Dragonkin is the DMs brother and will btich and moan but not quit. They were making witch hunt claims over me trying to figure out why the game was unbalanced and realizing it was ECL and letting the GM know what the actual Average ECL was.

  11. I'm trying to help my DM fix the balance issues in our game. There are 3 of our 7 players causing the problem. The problems being 1, the Dragonkin "Beast of Legend" didn't count his 7 HD into his ECL and so his ECL is 7 higher than he said. 2. Two of the players are playing a race from a third party publisher which has an ECL out of line with its power level AND they forgot to factor in their HD. making them 2 levels higher than they said and more because of the race. 3. The two playing the weird race are playing Gestalt characters from Unearthed Arcana which is a variant only supposed to be used if the whole party is Gestalt and creates characters that do not scale with standard classes.

What would you guys do to fix this?

  12. See I'd never have known. This description would never lead me into Fantastic Forum in the first place to see the tag line on Men of Action.

    The Fantastic Forum!

    Men of Action (Figures)

Graphic Novels, Comic Books & Manga - The bastard child of pop culture, telling stories about superheroes & every other genre. Now featuring sample art & reviews.

  13. Could we get a forum for tabletop gaming? Board games, miniatures, RPGs? I never know where to put threads on that and while I can make guttural noises about video games I can have long in depth discussions on tabletop gaming. I know we've got at least a few other Warhammer/D&D people out there.
