House should have won best Drama. Hugh Laurie is so good in that role as Dr. Greg House. This show is fantastic. The characters are diverese, deep, witty and full of personality. Greg House's character is brilliant and I love his dry sense of humor. Great show all around. I love the "Tarantino" style plot twists and depth also.

Hey man, I love House, but the "plot twists" was not "Taraentino style." If we throw that term around like it means nothing, it'll lose all meaning. House is great, but it's highly formulatic. Fortunately for the show, the episode "Three Stories" got nominatedd, the only episode with a truely interestingly unique narative (plus Carmen Electra is a delicious golf outfit...rawr!). The show is great for the characters and the dialogue, but come on, it's the same plot every episode.

1) Person has strange symptons

2) no one can figure it out

3) One doctor someone seeks out House

4) House is busy with self-loathing and arrogantly dismisses patient

5) House is later interged by intereting combination of symptons

6) House diagnoses the patient

7) Hoes back to self-loathing

8) Patient doesn't respond to treatment.

9) House has meetign with other doctor and asks them for suggestions

10) House mocks young doctor is they don't diagnose the patient liek he does

11) They try new treatment

12) Hoes back to self-loathing

13) Patient gets worse

14) House reconvenes with other doctor

15) House epiphany, realizes it's something totally rare, like leprosy combined with Pokemon-induced seizures.

16) House orders proper treatment in the nick of time

17) House still loathes self.

I mean, I dig the show, but it's not ground-breaking plotwise. Now you diss Desperate Housewives, but I think that show truely is ground breaking. Like I said int eh thread I made for it, the show never goes where you think it will, and the humor is so dark and the characters are so good. I'm psyched for season two. I'm glad that one of the highest rating show on TV is once again the show with the best writing. Now Teri Hatcher and Felecity Huffman have emmys and Marcia Cross is still without one for the series! That makes me upset.

Also: 2 emmy for the Daily Show, again...awesome!

Yeah it's "Tarantino" style. And I don't throw that term around lightly. Although what ya said in the bulleted list is true to a certain degree, The plots are deep and have more twists and turns than a country road. When we think we have it figured out it brings us in a new direction and then only to show us what happended before hand from a different perspective. The character development is intense. And as for Hugh Laurie's sardonic attitude- Brilliant.

Desperate Housewives is like Dawson's Creek meets One Life to Live. I just think it's boring personally. :2T:
