  1. I'll agree with Mal on this one....this game is undeserved of the 8's and 9's its been getting. It is a fairly average game in all respects. So it's a little on the weird/fucked up side, that doesn't save it. I enjoyed it somewhat, but this isn't a game I am going to be reccomending or ranting about at any point in the future. Same with Catherine (as that got mentioned as well). Weird/Different doesn't always equal good. And as it only sold some 21,000 copies in the US we can all look forward to it going down the sinkhole only to be brought up every few years by someone not cool enough to have gotten it when it first came out.

  2. Thanks for the praise guys. It's been a long, slow accumulation. Around 20 years, I reckon. It's not that impressive when you take that into account. I'm still totally in awe of Newt's library, personally.

There really isn't that much more, the vast majority of the shelf-worthy books are in the pics.

I'll take you up on that camera tho, so I can at least take some clear shots.

JZA- All the Cerebus pre Jaka's Story are in the longboxes. I think I more proud of those (letters pages ftw). I still don't have it all, I'm delaying the inevitable. I will be sad when there's no more Cerebus to read.

Got my Absolute Ronin in the other day. I forgot how really awesome Ronin is. Also the comic book shop near my work is ordering me some more Ex Machina and Saga of the Swamp Thing books. Any other hidden gems you got tucked away??

  3. well if i have someone to play with a few nights a week, i might make another crack at it... it is just hard and forever long to quest as a mage and in the 40-60...

yeah I find 35-55 to be the worst part of the game. I'd also play more if I had some people to play with. So start up a character on one of the two servers if ya want and let me know your name and we can run some stuff. Can get Logan in and Rachel too when she is able, that'd be almost a full dungeon group right there. Make it easier to lvl for all of us.

  4. Ah shit son, T3h Logz is playing WoW again!! I gotta get my graphics card soon...... SSOOONNNN. I can't wait to play again!
I have a spare 8800gt if your comp can take PCI-E cards and has the power supply to handle it.

what hours do you all usually play? I got to level 45 and then kinda got stuck. My guild is great, but they arent ever on when I am. I have thought about tossing in the towel. I am a mage, so solo play is kinda rough, though twinking and repayment does sound enticing
My mains are all on Sisters of Elune, though I started a new priest to play on a server with some friends from work. They are all around 40-45 and I wont be long getting up there. If I like the server I might even move my mage over. I haven't been playing much lately but I usually play evenings and nights. Priest is on Greymane, everyone else is on Sisters of Elune.

Oh yeah, I exclusively play Horde...so take that into consideration....and don't play Alliance anyways. They suck. As people, and as players.

  5. Got WoW tonight, minus Burning Crusade and Lich King. I've always played on other people's accounts (and I haven't even done that in a good long while). Figured it would be cool to do things on my own for once.

I've been getting patches and updates for the last 3 hours...jeezus jumped up christ.

If I vever get to play this, I'm gonna be on Sisters of Elune so I can make Mort twink me.

Oh yeaaah. Gonna make him twink me hard.

Oh I'll twink you good alright...and I do accept real life favors for in game gold, not like some other prudes

  6. thanks, i did - that level was way worse than the one you were talkin' about!

that said, tied this one up late last night. i was mostly dead at work today, but it was worth it - touching ending to a great game, 50+ hours in all, with side-quests & everything. im not a big strategy guy, but this was definitely worth it - thanks again newt.

If you don't feel like trying, or just can't get past a certian part there is a VC anime out. Only the first few episodes are out but so far it seems to follow the plot of the game. They even kinda mimic the artistic style of the cutscenes from the game.

  7. I'm totally bummed that they're not gonna make this anymore.

I might need to snag it now while it's still cheap for when I eventually get a PS3, or else I can wait a few years and kick myself in the ass when I have to shell out a bunch of cash for it on Ebay.

    It looks so damn cool.

Waves his copy and artbook around Lookie what I got!! It sucks it wont be made anymore but hell if I can still find a copy of Persona 1 for the PS1, this wont go away for a long time. And I doubt it'll ever reach Suikoden 2 prices, it might just be the normal $60, which if some of you had paid the first time around, it might not be going OOP...shame on you! :2T: Actually I don't think it was ever $60 new.

  8. I've a good bit of techno.. I'll make up a list when i get in...

As for now, check out Venetian Snares album Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett

I did some quick listening to them on the iTunes store, so a lot of Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett just sounds like classical influenced experimental, but Detrimentalist and Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms seem like they would be right up my alley.

  9. So now that DKS is gone, does anyone else here like metal/death metal/black metal/folk/viking or anything along those lines? I'm talking more about the underground stuff, not the stuff they play on Headbanger's Ball or you hear on the radio.

  10. It wasn't the pace that bothered me, it was that I was literally sick of both of them at that point and the ending was a huge letdown and the fact that it was about the only place the story had left to go made it even more so. Don't get me wrong, Jesse was great till the very end but the other two were just shadows of the great characters they had been.

I rate Hitman higher than Preacher because it had a better dynamic between its characters, the ending was much better, and in that one Ennis had the balls to kill off characters that you had already fallen in love with and do it without so much as an apology. You really must've just read the Local Heroes and Ace of Killers storyarcs because Hitman was a serious book that occassionally dipped into the absurd, not the other way around.

As for the Boys. Trust me, the G-Men story is tedious but the end is worth it.

Just want to say, the way Cassidy became towards the end of preacher almost made me quit reading it. He royaly screwed that one up in my opinion. What's this Hitman you speak of?

  11. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing pc

    Metacritic score: 8

WTF! There isn't any clipping! I would forgive this if it was called "Kitty Pryde's Big Rig Adventure".

I like how hills and terrain play absolutely no factor in your acceleration.

Sweet sassy molassy, this looks so laughably bad...

    ...I must own it.

If you can actually find a copy let me know, i wanna play it too, maybe its been pirated

  12. Which brings me to an amazing little thing I saw the other day during a trade in....

Some one brought in a copy of My Little Baby for the DS...which traded in for MORE than the copy of Oblivion GOTY Edition they brought in...I hate my job....also My Little Baby is made by Southpeak, who brought you another lovely title by the name of Two Worlds...

  13. Ah, that makes sense.

Ever since I learned of this checking out business at your establishment, I refuse to buy a "new" game that isn't shrink wrapped with the seals on it. They tried to give me an unwrapped copy of Matt Hazard, I turned it down and demanded a copy that was actually new. It's the principle of the thing, you know?

Though I wouldn't be surprised if you guys have a whole box of seals in the back, I know you have a shrink wrapping machine.

Yeah but our shrink wrap machine uses that cheap thin plastic...and I keep telling you just because it is not shrink wrapped or sealed DOESN'T mean it has been checked out. Sometime we have to gut (take the disc out) and put the case on the shelves because we don't have another case for it, not necessarily checked out. I don't care if you do but I don't want someone thinking that an un-shrinkwrapped game has been used. In MOST cases it hasn't.

  14. That's downright weird that you can't check out DS games, any idea what their reasoning is behind that?

Erasing the save game data, some games don't let you do that, so if you check out a new game and return and then someone else buys it thinking its new and it has some save game on it, well we're fucked

  15. The general consensus on GameFAQs is that a lot of the problems with Lux Pain are a product of really bad localization. Might just be a niche demographic that really gets something out of it (like yourself), if that's the case then general reviews won't do it proper justice. It does seem to have a few fans on the board.

Still, those are some pretty bad scores floatin' around. Gamepro even admitted that they really liked Time Hollow and are willing to sit through text, and they still hated on it.

My advice: Approach with extreme caution.

It just sucks I can't check out DS games from work...maybe I will wait until there is a used copy that way i can return it if it is indeed horrible, not in a good way

  16. Well fuck me, I was actually looking forward to this game...

    LUX PAIN for Nintendo DS(i)

    Metacritic Score: 40

GamePro: The premise, when paraphrased, is an interesting one and as a huge fan of last year's Time Hollow and any good mystery in general, I'm always willing to sit through any amount of text if it provides a means to an end, or at the very least, something somewhat cohesive. Lux-Pain fails on both accounts, serving as a poorly thrown together, somewhat interactive novel that really doesn't know what it wants to be - or, if it does know, it certainly doesn't want to be a game.

IGN: Lux-Pain sports a slick anime art style, which is quickly overshadowed by inane seek-and-find gameplay and a baffling story. This is a very strange choice of game for Ignition to localize.

I love all the Phoenix Wright games, and Time Hollow was good, and I gotta say I don't mind if a game is more reading than playing, especially ones like this, I am just kind of torn on whether to buy it now or not...

  17. Brian Regan always makes me think he just did a rail of coke before coming out on stage.

But here's some of the greats in my eyes....oldies but goodies

    Bill Hicks is the best

Well I dunno Carlin is another obvious choice

Jim Norton is another guy I've recently been turned on to

    Doug Stanhope

and of course Billy the Mime

  18. Undeniably country. Such a pretty little song too.

I hope I don't have to go to Heaven...

    :villain:

I know, it speaks to the soul of the "everyman" and touches upon the social matters that really count in today's day and age. Not just another "woe is me" song, it's a song that really delves into the deeper nature of humanity. Anyone who isn't moved by this wonderful song needs to check their pulse.

  19. Ah wow in the credits for the music the first person listed is Atom TM(trademark symbol) aka Ewe Schmidt aka Atom Heart. He's done anything and everything under the sun electronic music wise, good to see he is getting involved with video games.

  20. After Cell is the Saiyaman Saga with Gohan and Mr. Satan's Daughter (i forget her name), then comes the World Tournament Saga which leads into Buu. I always enjoyed Piccolo in DBZ even though he doesn't play such a major part. He just seems the most real character but Vegeta is also great.
