I didn't see an entry for this amazing masterpiece of a game so I decided to create one. This game came out in 2012 I believe and the Remastered version came out in 2014.
If no one knows about it its basically a survival horror action game taking place in a post-apocalyptic world using grounded gameplay mechanics. I won't spoil to much here but the game focuses on the relationship between the main character and the young girl he has to escort throughout the game. Its definitely one of kind in terms of narrative and survival gameplay.
Although the game itself was quite extraordinary I started playing a new difficulty level introduced in the DLC called Grounded (which was included in the Remastered version) In the game there is a listening mode where you can see the silhouettes of your enemies through walls. Yeah...this is disabled. Your HUD is disabled as well. Enemies are much more sharper and way more alert. They also do triple damage meaning you die in 2 to 3 hits. Plus you're usually running around with 2-4 rounds and crafting supplies are slim to nothing.
Basically what a real life post apocalyptic world would truly feel like. With no HUD you never know how close to death you are. You have to steathfully see where your enemies are and know when to fight and when to just sneak past enemies and you gotta make ALL your shots count. You'll rarely max out on crafting supplies as well so you'll definitely need to think about what you want to craft. It was HELLA fun for the more real hardcore experience.
One strategy you learn to take advantage of is the power of using bricks and bottles to throw as distractions or at enemies to stun them. The downside is that you can only carry one so you really hope there's some lying around the environment.
I've enjoyed the experience and thought I'd share some of my exploits. Its really fun for the hardcore player.
