  1. Quite true.

I keep hearing people ask why this movie was even made in the first place. I guess it hasn't been well advertised that, as Maldron mentioned, this is literally the pilot episode for a new television series. It was never really meant to be a standalone movie.

  2. We do need something with a little more edge, yes, but Jax's new ones are a step in the right direction. They're big, they're bold, they're a cohesive design, they can actually be worn on tshirts in public, and they don't look like something that someone made in MSPaint.

  3. You're telling me the bit with the two boats was a good way to close off the film? Christ.... Did no one else think that them not blowing up was a bit fuckin predictable

Yeah it was, but it couldn't have gone any other way really without it becoming a completely different movie (

not to mention destroying Batman's faith in humanity and kinda taking away his motivation to keep going for a sequel - a cool idea to explore, but in a graphic novel, not in the second film of a series

). I think it was handled as well as it could be.

No he's got a point in this:

they should have done some editing post-heath to swap death/living scenarios. As it stands(and makes no sense), Dent, the standout for me is dead(or not) and Joker, a mighty-fucking-fine portayal from a now dead actor, is open-ended despite the fact if they bring him back they're gonna have to explain it with some terrible cosmetic surgury storyline or worse, could prove to be the catylist in this CGI actor business that gets brought up now and again. The last 5 minutes was heroicly awesome in my book, but some better work could have been put to squaring the villians.

In retrospect, I actually like Harvey's fate, but the Joker's end could have been handled simply

by adding a shot of the SWAT team firing their guns when they find him hanging from the top of the building - Gotham cops have notoriously loose morals and the Joker killed a lot of cops

    .

  4. I don't care how bad an idea it is, I'll be there. The chemistry of all the actors in the Lethal Weapons film has consistently been so good, watching those sequels is like sitting down and bullshitting with friends. With explosions,

  5. No, sorry, it was just you two.

Actually, in the back of my head, I did know there was a "Beak" in the XMen universe, but since the one in the movie doesn't have bird-like features and has electrical powers instead of flight, I assumed it was an all-new character.

  6. So one really cool thing has come out of Frank Miller's Spirit movie - Lionsgate's marketing department has reached out to art schools across the country to help design posters for the film. This first one was introduced at comicon and comes from the Art Institute of California-San Diego.

God, for once I wish I was still in school... :(

  7. What board do you frequent?

Considering I tend to stay out of Fight Club and Politics, a much more civil board than you do.

I agree with FDB. I like to think we have (or at least can) grow beyond "drinks and whores".

  8. I can't wait for Half Blood Prince, but to me this trailer is basically just (in deep movie announcer guy voice) "COMING THIS FALL...A MOVIE...WITH A LITTLE KID...WHO IS CREEPY".

Great film, I'm sure, but lousy trailer. Order of the Phoenix's trailer had me drooling. This one, not so much.

  9. Yeah, just got back from reading up on IMDB. Deadpool is in da house, and hopefully Reynolds can pull off the psychotic sense of humor of my favorite merc with a mouth.

I just wonder if he's going to realize he's in a movie.

Originally, I thought Beak was made just for the movie but apparently not.

There was an animated series that was a sequel to the previous animated series that simply had Robocop put on ice after his services were no longer required, then he was thawed out years later when things heated up again and he was upgraded. It's simple, but in the case of Robocop, it seems more than plausible; I mean, honestly, what do you do with a Robocop once the cost of using him becomes too expensive or he is no longer needed.

I'm pretty sure that's the basic premise for the next film too.
