  1. christ i need fashion nugget, that other one now too hnnghh

nearly all my vinyl pickups this year were game soundtracks - big ones were the same persona set stills did, and the phoenix wright set...latest one was deltarune chapter 2

i did get a recent deal for like $50 on 2 metallica albums, nina simome's greatest hits and aaliyah's best album, excited for them finally arriving

  2. ive honestly yet to finish the game, but i know the HD release back on ps3/360 didn't feel the same without that neat analog controller that was basically built for it (and arguably burning rangers)

  3. it's a fair question - i know there's a % of folks who cant use VR, but my weird combination of conditions thankfully just means my eyes prolly get tired at some point, i've not played anything for more than like an hour so not sure where that lies

it's funny, i can't see the boat in those old eye trick books in the day, but the 3DS for instance worked fine (even if i usually dropped the 3D for framerate boost anyway)

  4. yeah for all my talking shit, i may go half on one with teri - i've not dived into VR yet but with the push sony's making here i'm hoping for some big games, even if the lack of backwards compatibility for all but the most popular of the last gen games is a bummer

confirmation on half life alyx would be really cool.  really hoping sony doesn't pump this high-tech thing out and not really support it/hope for the best like they did early on with the vita, move, eyetoy etc

  5. yeah that's fair -ive been meaning to do a general thread to talk about boycotts, values, where & how we draw the line etc

England and Wales will not wear OneLove armbands

England, Wales and other European nations will not wear the OneLove armband at the World Cup in Qatar because of the threat of players being booked.
  6. the list keeps going

Here are things World Cup fans are restricted from doing in Qatar

A FIFA boss once said, "Alcoholic drinks are part of the FIFA World Cup." But that was then. A beer ban in stadiums is just one of the changes fans face in Qatar.
    Fans face religious restrictions

Islam is the official religion of Qatar — and anyone found to be proselytizing for other religions or criticizing Islam "may be criminally prosecuted," the State Department said, in a factsheet about Qatar for World Cup visitors.

It's also not safe to assume you can practice your faith openly: "Qatar allows some non-Muslim religious practice in designated areas like Doha's Religious Complex, but all faiths are not accommodated equally," the U.S. agency said.

    Public Speech is Limited

Speech that's deemed critical of the Qatari government could trigger an arrest. Those laws apply both to spoken words and social media.

And while past World Cups have brought a heaping of argy-bargy — scenes of rival crowds yelling or even singing obscenities at one another — open conflicts can bring big problems in Qatar.

"For example, arguing with or insulting others in public could lead to arrest," the State Department advisory video stated.

    Sex and Other Social Issues

"Homosexuality is criminalized in Qatar," the State Department notes.

"Advocates say that LGBTQ people in Qatar are subjected to conversion therapy, harassment by authorities and imprisonment," as NPR's Becky Sullivan says in her rundown of controversies surrounding the host country.

Visitors to Qatar can also face harsh punishments for "indecent acts and the act of sexual intercourse outside of marriage," the Library of Congress noted, citing Qatari law.

Recriminations range from a fine or six months' imprisonment for anyone found to have committed "immoral" actions or gestures in public to up to seven years in prison for someone having sex outside of marriage.

Fans will need to cover up, despite the heat

Qatar's oppressive heat forced the tournament to move from the summer to November and December — but fans who find it hot there should limit how much skin they show.

Dress codes in many public areas require that "both men and women cover shoulders, chests, stomachs, and knees, and that tight leggings be covered by a long shirt or dress," the State Department said.

Qatar Bans Beer Sales at World Cup Stadiums

The about-face on alcohol could violate a multimillion-dollar FIFA sponsorship agreement, and signaled that soccer’s governing body may no longer be in full control of its showcase event.

nevermind the thousands of migrant workers who've died for this so far, i'd say otherwise things are going swimmingly

  8. did anyone else see this?  it was a really nuanced take on namor, they really made him work here without shedding much of his arrogance/character

this really was what i'd heard: not exactly the usual MCU film, dealing a lot more grief/trauma.  really wasn't sure how they'd handle this without chadwick, but this was so much better than i'd expected

also m'baku calling okoye a bald headed demon was fantastic

  9. ..shit.  just finished a little while ago...shit

that was good.  watched it in the dark/alone but was a little high and couldn't always focus on the grainy shadows, there's definitely a while where not much goes down but it really builds the tension and i absolutely get why this feels like a child's nightmare

why were the "mother"'s bones popping, was she the monster?  is that why kevin yelled for her before the brutal end (god i should've seen something like that coming with the looping cartoon but i was not ready)

kaylee in the basement, the figure's face at the end, the stupid phone toy's eyes...ugh

apparently the director kyle edward ball did one called heck before this, which may have somehow been even darker - we gotta check that one out

  10. last i'd read years back, they were going in heavy on health clubs - i tale your meaning though, with them back to farming out silent hill (and possibly old metal gears) may all their other endeavors fail them & their IP find better homes!

it was so cool watching tim schafer & co get the rights to some of their classic games back, i'd be so happy to see kojima get at least entirely unused stuff like snatcher and policenauts
