Visitant Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Alright Hondo gaming whores, I wanna know about your gaming habits. What kinda things do you like to do to get into a video game? Tonight I pick up my copy of Bioshock 2 collectors edition. I am going to go home and make myself a 1950-60s style meal (http://www.foodtimeline.org/fooddecades.html) make a martini and turn off all the lights and immerse myself in the universe. When I play Silent Hill I always wait for a rainy night even if it means longer delays between sessions of play. Do any of you have any gaming habits that help you form a bond with the gaming universe you're playing in? Yeah it looks silly as shit having a rockband fog machine and strobe but when you're all drunk off Jager or your booze of choice you think you're a god damn rockstar belting out some "don't fear the reaper" in time with the strobe flash. For me, it's mostly darkness and a 2kg bag of Gummi bears. Like CARLO, I also hold all waste functions until Alana is sick of seeing me rock back and forth on the spot. Other than that I recently upgraded my dedicated gaming chair to a full set of recliners. Only other thing that seems to happen a lot when I'm immersed is telling anyone not sitting and watching to get the fuck out of my room and stop asking me to do things. Does that count as a habit? I think it's my A.D.D more than anything, the more I can immerse myself the more focused I am. I also do theme movie nights often at my place like ribs and zombie movies. I think we're talking about doing sushi/tentacle porn night soon. Maybe I should get a girlfriend then I wouldn't have so damn much time on my hands. Sadly I had to cancel my preorder of the CE due to money problems (need to prioritize!) so I envy you right now as BioShock has been my favorite FPS since Half-Life 1 & 2 and Team Fortess 2.
