MetalHeart Posted March 7, 2005 Author Posted March 7, 2005 So...was this one any good, MH? ...Funny you should ask that, because we just finished recieving the file today from a torrent. I haven't had the chance to watch it yet, but prolly first thing when I get home from work tomorrow!
Reverend Jax Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 The animation looks crazy from the trailer. In the US theaters 03/18/05. Sounds good to me.
whiterasta Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I saw it the other week...wanted to know if any other Hondo visitors had seen it, and what you thought of it. I though it was a pretty damn poignant little flick, definately worth the admission price. My favorite scene was where Scarlett was walking up to the shore with the Steam-soldiers, twirling her parasol, and two huge fuckin' cannon balls come zooming past her, killing one of the Steam-soldiers...She is then horrified to find that there is a man inside the metal suit! Pretty sweet if yeh ask me.
MetalHeart Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 Fucking Amazing. But then, the majority of shit I've seen is always amazing to me. The music is awesome as well
MetalHeart Posted July 10, 2005 Author Posted July 10, 2005 Yay! A chance to use the spoiler tags: Cj, Dowe and myself all drooled over when the glass shattered from the building, and it goes all slow like. I think it's featured in the trailure for a short few seconds.. There are a few more but my memory is stupid, and it's been a while since I saw it last. That scene though... so badass lol. we had watched the japanese version, then went and saw the american version in theaters when it was released. not too happy with it being shortened, but it was still pretty good. The granpa is the fucking best lol
whiterasta Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 You say it was shortened? What scenes were cut? Violent ones, no doubt. I noticed it was less violent than Akira.
MetalHeart Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 I think around 30 minutes were cut out. bleh on america!
MetalHeart Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Any of the newer members have anything to say about Steamboy? It's a fine piece of animation ass.
