MusicManiac
Anybody see this film yet? Worth buying/renting/skipping altogether? How good is it? Is it as entertaining as the Doug Adams classic books I read as a kid? I'm sure SB will post up a review.

Silent Bob
Slightly longer answer. Is it as good as the books? No, but then how could it be? Is it amusing and entertaining, yes. Give it a rent at least if you're a fan.
ChristyandJake
I liked it but was so disappointed after reading the books, but if you hadnt read any of the books then i think the movie would be great. I thought it wqas funny and Sam Rockwell was excellent.
Lycaon
I rather enjoyed it, but then I read the (1st) book after watching the movie. I need to get around to reading the others. ps. I especially liked the choice for Ford Prefect.
Silent Bob
I enjoyed it too. Hitchhiker's Guide has had so many different versions - the radio show, books, BBC series, stage show, album, comic book - and none of the versions are meant to be compared to each other. I don't know why people insist on comparing the movie to the books, you never hear anyone say "well I thought the book was ok, but the radio show was so much better!" Give it a shot. Judge it on its own merits. It's not perfect but it is funny. And Bill Nighy's in it.
ChristyandJake
yes Bill Nighy is excellent. I suggest you watch it MM, with an open mind, I think you'll like it, and if you don't enjoy any of it then you can chop my head off, but you don't know where I live so good luck with that. Lycaon
yes Bill Nighy is excellent. I suggest you watch it MM, with an open mind, I think you'll like it, and if you don't enjoy any of it then you can chop my head off, but you don't know where I live so good luck with that. And if they do, you can always pull a Loki "Yes I know I said you can chop off my head, but you had better not get any of my neck." Just hope the person with the axe isn't well-versed in Norse mythology.
