Reverend Jax Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Haha. I have a two disc set of his. As good as it gets is a stretch. Maybe as good as white man's jazz, but I foresee Nick popping in soon soliciting you to join the Church of Coltrane.
Lorelei Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 "White man's jazz"? Without the White man "Kind of Blue" would never have been made. Bill Evans is one of the best jazz pianists out there man No need, already part of the Church. His avant garde stuff I cannot handle though. I just have "the best of Chet Baker sings", so nice drinking to it
The NZA Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 my boy ario adores chet baker, never really gave 'im a chance so ill have to download that album. Coltrane's the goods, but if by avant gaurd you mean Stellar Regions or this other one i wanna say was cosmology or something else, where it was just abstract: instruments being struck at random and shit, then no, ive known some real jazz afficionados and no one ive ever met has gotten that shit, they just oddly respect it.
