  1. Don't feel like i wasted my time watching it, but I felt a lot of it was re-treading Hereditary and its extremely slow especially when the plot is super spelled out for you. I agree with Axels, this might be a better rental for a lot of people.

I compare Aris first two outings against Peeles and I think Peele has a stronger more diverse showing.

  2. If you're looking for anything outside the norm, my three favorite titles this year are:

    • American Carnage (Vertigo)- Collects #1-9. "Richard Wright is a white-passing African-American former FBI agent offered a chance to right the wrongs of his past as his old mentor sends him deep undercover to infiltrate a radical and dangerous white supremacist group believed to be responsible for the death of a fellow agent. For Richard, this is his last shot to turn his life around. With the ghosts of the past constantly reminding him of the man he once was, he will have to not only find the redemption he seeks in the eyes of others, but within himself." - WorldCat - ISBN 9781401291457 - (forthcoming, October 2019)

    Faithless (possibly NSFW) - https://www.horrordna.com/comics/faithless-1

Die - THE WICKED + THE DIVINE writer KIERON GILLEN teams up with artist supernova STEPHANIE HANS (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE 1831, Journey Into Mystery) for her first ongoing comic! DIE is a pitch-black fantasy where a group of forty-something adults have to deal with the returning unearthly horror they barely survived as teenage role-players. If Kieron’s in a rush, he describes it as “Goth Jumanji.” That only captures a sliver of what you’ll find in oversized debut issue—where fantasy gets all too real.

Die is a story basically about the 80s DnD cartoon and how fucked up the reality of what happened in it was.

  3. Basically the Parasite Eve and FFXV battle system fucked and this is the baby of that.

    ..not a bad thing TBH.

I think if you've never played FF7 this is looking like the game to play - the story will (hopefully) make way more sense and be more focused.

    • Thanks 1

  4.

episode 1: fantastic. i think it raises a lot of questions how we discuss male relationships and our own sexuality especially in an increasingly digital world where we are more free to express ourselves.

episode 2: good, but probably the weakest. took a while for me to get into it honestly.

3: I think this story is more engaging if you know about Mileys life and what's happened to her. Feels like this is more a future retelling of the shit she went through instead of a straight up black mirror episode.

  5. Zdarsky doesn't usually bounce around projects too much, so I could see him staying in for quite a while. Plus the #1 was like a mega seller so I don't think the powers that be will want him off anytime soon.

  6. Stolen From Reddit:

So the official website actually explains things a lot more clearly. It's interesting how specific Sony marketing will have to be in its messaging for this game considering the obscure concepts involved. I feel a heavy Dark Souls influence already:

    What is Death Stranding?

From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid) comes an all-new, genre-defying open world action adventure for PS4, starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.

    Face unique challenges

Arm yourself and take aim at a variety of objectives in your mission to reunite a broken nation, while balancing under the weight of your cargo as you travel. Protect your supplies from wild bandits, and stay safe from the terrifying Beached Things… or face failing those who depend on you.

    Death is not the end

There is no traditional ‘game over’ state in Death Stranding. Lose your life during combat and you’ll find yourself in an upside-down realm, searching for a way back to the living. Choose your combat methods carefully, as killing your foe is almost never the solution – and every death carries a consequence

    Assist other players

Help other travellers without ever crossing paths via asynchronous online gameplay. Send supplies, share safe houses and walk in the footsteps of fellow couriers to reunite civilisation.

  7. Hell yeah. We just talked about this this past week on the podcast. Its a really cool concept, and if nothing else - itll be an interesting part of video game history.
