  1.

no, i thought dinosaur, not chicken...though close enough. It was like they were being stalked by an invisible jealous velociraptor.

I finally saw Quarantine and good lord was that a bland ending. The ending of [REC] made my skin crawl and had me peeking through my fingers.

  2. True. Such a terrible, terrible movie. I didn't understand the big deal with the Exorcist either. Probably scary for its time but doesn't stand up well these days.

what?! did you see the version they re-released with added scenes? the stairs shit freaked me the fuck out!

  3. no, we had a good theater audience. everyone was into it. i was really excited to watch it. and then by the end i was just incredibly disappointed. i love atmospheric movies but i just can't put my finger on why i didn't find it scary. it may have been the combination of the protagonist being a

    demon

, the suburban setting, and the documentary format. i could have gotten into any two of those elements but all three didn't work for me. it came off as more cheesy than anything.

  4. went on a movie and tv series marathon (that i'm sure isn't quite over) this weekend:

    District 9- fucking awesome...i want a sequel

Adventureland- loved it. very sweet. i hope jesse eisenberg finally breaks out in zombieland. he's great.

state of play- good enough, i suppose.

some episodes of season 2 of breaking bad- in-fucking-credible.

angels and demons - ew. avoid at all costs.

    to be continued...

  5. you're just now seeing this!?!?

better late than never. this ties w/ amelie as my favorite jeunet film. you're right, it's a very cool movie.

yeah, i know...i was already chastized by a friend for not having seen it. i was probably 13 when it came out so i missed it then and i would hear about it here and there. it was sort of one of those movies that i knew i would get around to seeing eventually. but i'm glad i finally did.
