  1. Finally saw this movie after all the hype. Sadly, it was overhyped for me and I didn't enjoy it as much as T's other recents, Inglorious Bastards or Kill Bill. Not saying it wasn't a good movie.....

Not that I enjoy suffering, but did it seem to you all that this movie was a little too "happy ending" type? Seems like the western trend - im looking at you john woo...

Anyway: as to the spoiler tag questions before, here is my take... I agree before as to the weapon used in the gun "up the sleeve" as being one shot... that is my first take. However, it did have two barrels... so what about that? so there might be no answer until a weapons expert on here addresses it.

Now as to the plan.... they had to verify first that broomh was there. that's why they played that part, because money is what candie wanted. Then they would work her into the deal. The two had NO intention to pay. They would leave for 5 days and regroup for a plan to break in or forge some documents for payment, who knows, but 5 days is enough to come up with something. It wasn't until there were guns in the back of their heads that they were practically robbed. So candie was practically gloating because he did win and they were just lucky that dentist guy was carrying that much money. who knows what would have happened if he wasn't.</p>

  2. See? there you go, i knew this would be a fun movie. I actually enjoyed the first one and seeing the trailers for this, it looks like a great popcorn flick. I don't know why so much bashing is going on here because you are not going in to see some epic or academy award winning movie.

  3. So i just watched the intro movie for this game and was quite suprised at the redesign of the character. Let me just say i like what they've done a lot - making Laura Croft more human and vunerable instead of her typical barbie doll/rambo look. I also was suprised that square enix had a hand in the game design. Have any hondonians played this yet? What do you think of the game if you have?

  4. funny that should come up. there was this video about a little boy dancing beyoncee and i commented that he will never be the same. wonder what happened to him.

there's actually a whole set of youtube videos about little kids and being prodigies i went watching a while back. there was this one girl that played tennis and her dad was practically pep talking to her like some football coach and when asked about it, he was like - she needs it (while the mother was giving this i don't think that's right face). where's the line to be drawn when kids sometimes don't know what they want?

  5. Source Code-- surprisingly good. Rally fast paced with a pretty cool ending.

Yes, that was a really really cool movie.. reminds me of that point of view movie with forrest w and dennis quiad, but much better writing.

So, i decided to check this out because of End of Watch:

Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez (six feet under), can't go wrong, right? While not a cop movie per se, it's a movie about goofing off and doing what's necessary to get where you want to go. That sounds like shooting yourself in the foot, right? Well, that's a good way to describe this. Bale plays a character similar to the brother of whalberg in that fighter movie, but without the crack. he's a ex-army ranger looking to get a job in law enforcement, but knows how and when to take it easy. Somehow, you can see how it's going to end by the middle, but don't know how they will get there. Im on the fence as to how much I liked it, but I can say it was cool and I didn't waste my time.

  6. The thing about using a slow cooker is that its incredibly easy and idiot proof. When i make roast i just put a 3 lb. roast, sprinkled with seasoning salt and salt and pepper to taste. 4 cups of water, baby carrots and onions. Then you have to let it cook for about 8 to 9 hours and you will have the most tender and delicious roast you've ever had in your life.

What kind of meat is this? and you don't have to pre-marinade it? pardon for this for being possibly stupid questions.

Boogie: thanks for taking the time to make that write up. I will try that recipe one day. are you sure that bowl is oven safe? lol

  7. no word on if you liked it or not haj?

    On to my recent movie:

So, the trailer makes this seem like an action packed movie, written by the writer of training day. Training Day is over the top Denzel blazing at his best. But its not - it's more a fictional documentary by two LA officers. I don't want to give too much away, like the trailer, but it's more of a day to day account of what the streets are like in LA. It has a cops (TV) feel to it. They are both honest, dedicated and good at what they do. So although there is a big picture plot, it's actually more focused on the work and that's a good thing, because it was done well. Probably one of the closest movies to show what cops really do. Not as cool as training day though!

btw, this pena guy is always a cop! he's in the shield, world trade center, and now this.

I can't imagine the guilt taylor has to live with after the end.

The trailer (goes down the wrong direction):
