I'd like a new one.

I have been listening to Wayne Payne for the past two days. I don't usually like country, but this guy is awesome. I found him on the 50 Best Albums of 2020 on NPR.

I read Superman Red Son this weekend after buying a copy at the comic shop (I looked for Kabuki too, but I didn't see it there). I loved it. I haven't really been reading too many comics for a while now. I mostly read novels, a lot of non-fiction, and occult books. I would like to hear what your guys top ten comics of all time would be. Personally, I really enjoyed Neil Gaiman's Sandman. I didn't like Watchmen or the first Preacher (please don't throw eggs at me!) anthology. It's perfectly okay if you put those two in your lists, as they are your lists.

I took my son to a new comic book store yesterday and I picked up Red Son for myself along with most of the books that Nicholas wanted. I really like this story so far.

I am on episode 8 of the last season and I hate it so far. I think it is one the worst seasons of the show.

It might be worth it for a couple of months.

The Manson Family story is so strange, especially if you start to dig into it. There were just so many other cults that might have been involved. There is Manson's involvement in the Church of Scientology while he was in prison (he claims that he was audited to the point of becoming a Clear). There is the fact that Manson lived down the street at one point from the Process Church of the Final Judgement (members of which visited him in jail after the murders). The Process Church was also started by renegade Scientologists. Plus the fact that there are allegations that the Process Church was in some way involved with the Son of Sam murders. It's weird, but interesting to read about.

This show was so important to me as a kid. There were really no rules as to what I could watch in my house since I had my own TV in the basement. I saw the pilot when it originally aired and I was hooked. I think I watched almost every episode when it originally aired. When I was an English teacher at Miami Coral Park, I would teach vocabulary through sketch comedy. I used to show skits from In Living Color to my class to teach them about creating sketches and basic ideas from comedy. I would place the students in groups and we would create sketches around a vocabulary word that the group was assigned. I would perform with the students in their sketches if they wanted me to. It was wild and hysterically funny sometimes. I only teach AP Human Geography now at a very different school, but I miss those moments when we would perform and laugh together at Coral Park. Here is one of the sketches that I would show when explaining parodies (I showed the original milk commercials to give the students context): "Live hard and fast. Die young and pretty."

This looks really cool. I'm going to have to check this out.

So now it's down to $30. I'm tempted to bite. Is it worth it for $30?

It definitely is. The original was pretty good. If you don't have anything you really into and need something to watch, I totally recommend watching VM.

They are called buttons here, although I imagine there is some deviation between the states. One section of one of my lecture for work deals with dialect differences. I have a map for the most common phrase for an outdoor sale of used stuff in an area (garage sale, yard sale, tag sale, sidewalk sale, boot sale . . . ).

I think part of this has to do with the introduction of psychedelics to the U.S. popular culture and the 1996 Telecommunications Act. That is for a longer conversation though.

This is the first new band in a while that I have really liked.

When I was 12, I loved Savage Dragon. I got really into Image stuff as a kid. I have no idea how it would read to me now, but back then I was enthralled especially with his art.

I find it ironic that they are both magicians in the occult sense of the word. I stopped reading Watchmen halfway through the story. I just wasn't really into it. I do, however, really find Moore's theory of Ideaspace to be fascinating. I read Asylum by Morrison a few years back and I just thought it was okay. I've been planning to read the Invisibles for a few years now, but I haven't gotten around to it. I find his story of inspiration from the Voudon Gnostic Workbook for the Invisibles to be entertaining and the fact that he got the fright of his life from experimenting with the VGW to be amusing. He talked about his experiences with the VGW extensively on Kevin Smith's podcast. It's a good story. He approached the book all wrong though.

I just listened to The Surly Nerd for the first time. The production quality was excellent. You guys are really polished too. I am looking forward to listening to more episodes.

Lissette and I re-watched the entire show from start to finish in a period of about a month. It was totally worth it, especially if you don't have any great TV on your docket.

I have high hopes for this movie. I love Bill Hicks.

TNG is the only Star Trek version that I love. I have tried to get into the others, but I haven't been able to. Patrick Stewart is in great shape for his age. I think he can pull it off.

Maybe you are just over thinking things?

I'm really psyched for this film. I saw Terminator 2 in the theater and it is one of my favorite films. The Sarah Conner Chronicles is excellent. I was distraught for months after they cancelled it. I love the first two Terminators films and that show. I hate everything else that the franchise has produced, but I absolutely love that show. I might even binge watch it now and see if it holds up since I haven't watched it in years!

I got an Oculus Go for Father's Day. I like it. I don't play games on it at all. I use mine to mostly watch videos, especially since there is only one TV in my house and my kids take control of it. This way I can sit next to them with earphones on and watch something. It's like watching a big screen TV in a private theater. It definitely seems like it could be the future for education. I downloaded the Ann Frank Museum app and it was pretty neat.
