  1. Everyone knows your the real wolf
  2. I am not sure if any of you listen to Fresh Airon NPR, but Quentin Tarantino did a forty minute interview where he discusses the film. You can podcast the interview using iTunes fairly easily. I found it to be a great interview and really worth listening to if you are a fan.
  3. I actually haven't watched them yet I will be hopefully this week.
  4. That storyline comes back in season 4. Also, even though a lot of the shit in the show seems a little far fetched, I have been watching NatGeo's Outlaw Bikers and some of this SOA stuff seems like it happened (the violence anyhow, melodrama is another), just not in Cali. In one episode there was a war between the Hell's Angels and the Banditos (maybe the Warlocks, I can't remember) in the Scandinavian countries. Fools got wasted in broad day light at the Copenhagen International Airport, Swedes knocked off a weapons cache where they stole a rocket launcher and used it on another club in the middle of the city, and lots of other mayhem.
  5. I think the comments on seasons 3 and 4 are right on. I liked season 3 okay, but it was definitely the slowest of the seasons. S3 ended really well, but it dragged during many episodes, although it was cool to have that Irish guy from Lost in a few of the episodes. I really enjoyed season 4. It was definitely melodramatic as Haku puts it, but it is still great fun. So far, I am really into season 5.
  6. Also - I find it interesting that Rollins first band was SOA (State of Alert). Carry on.
  7. One of the big issues with The Shield for me was that after a while, I could no longer empathize with Vick and most of the others. With the characters on SOA, I still root for themand want them to stay alive. Vick was the Machiavelli of The Shield and Clay is that sort of character on SOA. There are a lot of similarities between the two shows and I love all the guest spots.
  8. Epic is right! I just want to rub that belly with lotion. Mmmhmmm, tasty.
  9. He seemed like a good guy. I am sorry that he passed away so young. It is extremely hard on the heart to take care of a guy that large for so long.
  10. Season 2 is coming out on DVD with extras. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=qinatGi-8Tg
  11. Half of the things on this show that the Jeff D. character says I have wanted to yell at people at one time or another. Just finished the Gabby Giffords episode and I thought it was extremely prescient. I know what Jax is talking about when it comes to the dialogue since it was the same reaction I had initially. I think that it has gotten a bit better as the season has went on though.
  12. The sweetness didn't bother me at all. It only has a hint of sweetness really, it's not cloying at all.
  13. Magic Hat #9, Not Quite Pale Ale: This is one of the best beers I have ever drank. I am not a big fan of pale ale, but who am I kidding, I will drink any beer with alcohol. What I don't like about most pale ales is that they are too bitter. This is definitely not quite a pale ale. It is 5.1% ABV and is incredibly smooth and flavorful. It goes very well with spicy foods as well.
  14. I have boxes of shows on DVD. I think that if they do release them, it will be a massive amount of boxes.
  15. Good Eats was cancelled !?!?! I just read via Wikipedia that Alton "retired" the show. Anyhow, I like that Justin kid. Lissette and I watched the whole season of the Next Food Network Star and we voted for him.

    Cold Brewing Coffee

I drink mostly black tea and my biggest problem with coffee in the past has been the acidity. This was a refreshing change. I think if you made the cold brewed coffee into an iced mocha you might like it.
  17. Last night I decided to try cold brewing coffee after watching a Food Network show and then reading about it online. According to what I read, cold brewed coffee has 70% less acid than hot brewed coffee and also has a slightly different flavor profile. I tried it out and it was really quite tasty. You can definitely tell the difference in the acidity. Here is the recipe I used: I decided to filter the coffee with paper filters since paper captures the chemical cafestol. Cafestol leads to elevated cholesterol levels according to studies. French presses and metal sieves don't get rid of it and that is why cafestol is present in high amounts in espresso, but not drip coffee. Has anyone else here tried cold brewed coffee? If so, what did you think?
  18. His show is definitely the best cooking show ever. There really isn't anyone who compares on the Food Network. Lissette has made countless recipes using the DVDs of his shows. Most cooking shows are a little boring, but he explains the science of everything and he uses puppets . . . puppets!

  20. Pure. Awesome. I got a big laugh from that clever joke. +1 good sir.
  21. An excerpt from a NY Times review of the the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Gq2kj4ryg
  22. Beautiful trailer. I would love to see this at an IMAX theater. I looked up the film on their website:
  23. That was one of the more interesting interviews I have ever seen. I definitely see the Keith Ledger Joker there. Tom Waits seemed intoxicated as hell.
  24. I have not read Mr. Moore, but I am a fan of his interviews and I hope to read his work in the future. I do know that he is deeply involved in the occult though and that he claims to worship the Roman snake god Glycon. He has also inspired one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman.
