The weird thing is that for the past year or so, I find myself relating to you much more. I wish I could have met you guys when you were in Miami, but unfortunately I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown (for lack of a better term). The irony is that soon after I found out I had a life threatening medical condition (I should be better soon), most of my fears and panic attacks went away. Your presence has been missed though, at least by me.

I've seen them all so far. Season 2 leaves off on a hell of a good spot. I finished it about a month ago and I keep listening to the soundtrack just to remind me of the good shows to come (and also because it is kick-ass music).

This show is a must see. Probably one of my favorite shows . . . ever? I like it so far better than the Shield. The show combines the plot of Hamlet with a motorcycle gang and a Lady Macbeth like character. I can't say enough good things about this show. Totally riveting story.

Any new fights?

I just watched that short film and I have no idea what to think. That shit was some bizarre b-movie making.

I'm not into hip-hop, but I enjoyed listening for a good 45 minutes.

Still reading The Tao of Wu with my class. I find that I have to clarify and add commentary to much of the information. He talks an awful lot about the Nation and the Five Percenters. He doesn't really talk much about the groups background so I've had to lecture for short periods on them and let my classes know that their are some racist undertones (or overtones depending on your point of view) to these cults. It did give me a good opportunity to discuss the two basic factions in Civil Rights Movement though (The By Any Means Necessary Side [Violence] vs. Non-Violent Civil Disobedience) and how Malcolm X let the Nation right before he was murdered.

Your brother makes it look so easy. Guy has a lot of skill, but I'm with Nick on this one. What the hell is that guy doing shooting straight in like that? You'd think he would have done a little research and tried to stay strictly to Mike's weaknesses. Mike looks to be much improved with his up-top fighting. It could be his opponent does his best on the ground too, hard to say one I'm just arm-chairing it. Anyhow, congrats on your brother's win.

I use to watch UFC during the mid 90's when my Sifus were training me to compete in pankration tournaments (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancration#Modern_pankration). I never competed since I broke my arm during one of the training sessions and I lost interest in the sport after that. I kind of agree with the whole Gracie stance on the sport.

After hearing another interview with the RZA on the radio and also hearing him do a reading from the book, I went out and purchased it. I'm going to read it at the beginning of class to my students for fifteen minutes and have them respond in their journals. When we finish the book, I think I'm going to have each student write a letter to the RZA and I'll send the box to his agent (with pictures of the classes included). I've done this before with a bestselling author and it worked out rather well.

I heard an interview with him on Marketplace Money and the guy really impressed me. It looks like a book with some positive philosophies.

I just finished the final season of the Shield and man, That series was probably the most intense show I've ever watched.

I'd like to go to the next one. Hell I would have liked to have gone to this one just to meet all the Battlestar Galactica actors and actresses that were there.
