The NZA
yet another SCUMM game i slept on years back ( ), Sam & Max managed to elude me completely until seeing it listed/played on Xbox live recently, as season 1 of Sam & Max Save the World is $20, a steal considering its like $50 for the disc on wii for some reason. A fan of point & click, i gave this a go, and im so glad i did. Save the World is just as it says, its setup like a form of sitcom, with 6 zany episodes. Im on # 5 right now, "Reality 2.0" and am thoroughly convinced Surreal Noir should be a fucking genre of its own right. Between the constant in-jokes/self-deprecation and outright madness, ive had some awesome moments, from Ted E. Bear's Mafia-Free Playland and Casino (god i need that theme song) to Sam running for office, i genuinely dont know where this game's going next, but it never disappoints. I spent forever just dicking around the TV studio in episode 2, this game totally rewards you for clicking on everything and answering things the way you shouldn't. I know Silent Bob was all about this a while back (i swear, between this, Stronbad & Bone, Telltale is becoming one of my favorite companies), as wish Bish and Space - just wanted more reactions, as well as any info as it comes in on when season 2 is due for live, cause im saving points just for that. the division of joy
I don't know how i feel about some of the lucas arts games i've loved as kid being brought out in episodic format to eek more money... The older sam & max games were fantastic though...
The NZA
i can certainly understand the sentiment, but seriously, Telltale is knocking shit out of the park. give em a try on PC if you're inclined DoJ, again ive not yet played the original game but this series is awesome and fans of both seem very pleased, seems very in the spirit of the original. the division of joy
I may be slightly agitated at the fact that the monkey island ones that came out have been utter horse cock.... I'll give them a download at some stage, do you fancy a download (scummVM compatible) version of the original?
Jables
I've sat on season 1 for the PC for more than a year, as I have every other PC game I've amassed ranging from Fallouts 1 & 2(the only ones I've played after installing), Max Payne 2, some kind of C&C, Diablo, etc. Seeing it on XBL just makes me want it more. The NZA
DoJ - i heard Monkey 2 & 3 were good, but Escape was kinda weak. what didnt you cotton to? and yeah, the original one im sitting on, tis SCUMM VM indeed, along with Maniac Mansion, Full Throttle, Indy: Fate of Atlantis etc. JZA - its brilliant. see what you think, man. im so cautious about recommending you things now. Trust me: I'm learning to navigate the motivations of your pimpery. In your eyes Bru & Claremont can do no wrong, so I therefore should listen to nothing you say. The NZA
exactly! its like i told panch: exciting gameplay, innovative ideas? or is there another generic "i-aint-got-time-to-bleed" game with destructible environments releasing around the same time? recommend game 2 for skeets, game 1 for all others. it took me years, but ive learned my lesson. ive also accepted youll never publicly admit to being late to the kirkman party, its less likely than me getting a letter from you. my therapist says ive made great strides. Jables
If by game A you're talking about anything Japanese, you can stick your innovation where the heathen squid-sun you also worship doesn't shine. Also, I spit on any kirkman party or vehicle you are inclined to invite me to. That guy does okay with Invincible & Walking Dead, but he's otherwise still just a fanboy hack. The NZA
...you do realize that 100% of the games you played before, say, last gen were japanese, yeah? and a healthy amount of the ones since then too. again, my finger's not on the pulse of lesser tastes, sir: ill just wait till cooking mama 2 brings a rolling pin controller before PMing you into a thread. someone, anyone, talk about Sam & Max

C_U_SPACECOWBOY
I may be slightly agitated at the fact that the monkey island ones that came out have been utter horse cock.... I'll give them a download at some stage, do you fancy a download (scummVM compatible) version of the original? I haven't played any of the Tales episodes, so I can't speak for Telltale's portrail of Monkey Island, but I think Sam and Max was brilliant. I was a HUGE fan of the Hit the Road, as well as all the other Lucasarts point and clicks. I feel they absolutely NAILED the banter between same and max, and while I was originally concerned about the episodic nature of the content, in retrospect it makes perfect sense for Sam and Max as each episode is presented as a case. Granted, the "puzzles" never really stumped me, but I don't know whether to chaulk that up to being 16 years older and maybe 5 years wiser, then I was in '93. To sum it up, I'm a fan of the original, and Save the World not only does justice to it's roots but has reinvigorated my love for Sam and Max. Can't wait for season 2 to hit live! The NZA
The Devil's Playhouse (season 3) is $20 on steam until Sep. 8th , i'm prolly gonna jump on this. wish season 2 would get the same treatment, no idea why it's cheaper on XBLA.
