C_U_SPACECOWBOY Posted March 31, 2011 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Link Spider-Man is set to spin his web on consoles once more this year, as Marvel and Activision-owned developer Beenox is set to deliver Spider-Man: Edge of Time, which will see incarnations of the Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 donning the web shooters this autumn, with a story penned by legendary Marvel writer, (whose Wolverine stories are some of the best) Peter David, who is also co-creator of Spider-Man 2099. "The first Spider-Man entry by Beenox, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, was touted as one of the wall-crawler's best Spider-Man games to date from both critics and fans," said Vicharin Vadakan, Director, Global Brand Management. "At Beenox, we are constantly listening to the fans and looking for new and creative ways to innovate the gameplay experience for them," said Dee Brown, Studio Head, Beenox. "We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance." Spider-Man: Edge of Time will feature two connected storylines set within present day New York and the corrupted future of Spider-Man 2099. Featuring all-new 'cause and effect' gameplay, you'll see how changes in each timeline affect conditions in the opposite timeline. Your goal will be to correct a timestream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future in which Peter Parker experiences an untimely death. Spider-Man: Edge of Time is out this fall 2011. Hopefully they flesh out the 2099 universe/gameplay a little more as apparently the game will only switch back between the two worlds. An open world 2099 could be great!!
