The Tri-Nations cup between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa has just finished with Australia pulling of a close 25-20 win over New Zealand. Its the first time in a decade Australia has won the cup. crimsonfire Posted September 6, 2011 Share Posted September 6, 2011 A rugby thread...that I didn't start? Seriously though I couldn't be more psyched about this world cup. Getting up at fucking 7am to watch the games ain't pleasant though. Ireland has a tough tournament ahead of them really. We lost every one of our warm up games and picked up some injuries we could have done without. The squad selection was also fairly controversial with nearly half the players travelling to NZ making their RWC debut. Bottom line if we get to the quarter finals I'll be happy. We get to the semis I'll be ecstatic. My prediction is we finish second in our group (can't see us toppling Australia so close to home especially on Tri Nations winning form) and get horribly interfered with by South Africa in the quarter finals. The only advantage we have is our perceived underdog status (despite being 4th in the world for some 6 months) and some of our as-yet untested talents at this competitive level. Predictions: Australia V New Zealand in the final. New Zealand to win. The All Blacks just do not lose at home. Simple as. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think they learned alot from thier flogging at the hands of Samoa. Plus they have alot of players in from the Queensland Reds. So go Wallabies! Yeah, since my new boss is and ex wallabies player and my girlfriend is from NZ I have had to bone up on this stuff. Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
