god this was hard. pet sounds is an incredible album, and i'm from California, i mean what californian DOESN'T like the beach boys?
then again i also dig dark side of the moon, cream, jimi hendrix, and sgt. peppers.
but my vote went hands down to Led Zeppelin.
and as for my favorite beatles album, i'd have to say Rubber Soul, i dig Sgt. Pepper's as well for the creativity they put into that album.. but Rubber Soul is a culmination of soo many good songs, and it fits together so well, i love that album.. but almost everything the Beatles put out was stellar..

yea i was basically talking about how mainstream music blows..but then again mainstream music has always kinda sucked so it's not like it's a new thing
i'm more into the alternative/local band scene anyway.. i like some emo, ska, swing (lee press on nails), alternative, indie, etc. whatever catches my fancy and i think sounds good i'll listen too. if it sucks in my opinion i won't give it the time of day

i found out at work yesterday when it came on the radio on this hard rock station.. i was washing dishes.. it was very upsetting to me.. another great artist bites the dust.. just as upseting to me as Cobain's death..

mine is "get crazy with the cheese whiz"
but i always thought it was "get FREAKY with the cheeze whiz"

I AGREE with you junker, Anderson does use music to accentuate scenes.. Cameron Crowe does this as well which i really dig, it makes the movie even more enjoyable
and yea i really dig simon and garfunkel.. they were really good.. scarborough fair is one of their more popular..but if you haven't goten into S & G i suggest Sound of Silence..one of my favorite songs.. pick up a compilation.. you won't be sorry..

I mean GODAMMIT why are women always the weaker sex, we didn't get the right to vote, we had to do everything for our husbands, we couldn't have a career we were so OPRESSED and this is the year 2002 dammit and female VIDEO GAME characters can't even win..what the fuck is this?

so this rules out one-hit wonders right?
we're talking about ESTABLISHED bands who have had more than one hit, and about a band that IS in fact established who's one of their hits is a good representation of their work?
who ever put Stairway for led zeppelin should be shot.. good song, yes, but not a good representation of their work. i equate putting stairway is led zeppelin's good hit song, to meandering thought's example of teen spirit to nirvana, complete and utter blasphemy.
my choice is ACDC... either "Back In Black" Or "You shook me all night long"
i'm not a huge ACDC fan, so this might be something to do with it.. i have never really gotten into them..
