  1. yea eyore.. it's really intense.. i was in it freshman year, thinkin about doing it my senior year but it's a big commitment.. i still have skills with rifle and flag.. but need to brush up on my saber skills.. used to be really good but i'm out of practice..
  2. wow supereyore you know what winteguard is! i'm impressed
  3. right on... hey.. they didn't bring out a washboard player when they did the show down here in norcal.. whenever they come back home i wanna see them again too, i think of the best parts of their concert IS the crowd, cake fans are great.. except when we went there was this one huge chick up on the baracade where we were, and you could tell that she didn't even know any of the songs, and she spent the whole concert looking around for her firiends in the pit, it was so bad that jon mcrea actually commented on her.. he's like "dude, that chick right there, WHY are you here? you're not singing, you're not rocking out, you're just looking for your friends!" people like that at concerts piss me off.. how do you post pics on this site?
  4. but...but...laurnen... we get to see BLAM!!! don't you caucazoids enjoy that sort of thing? i mean i'm just a lowly indianoid who has to resort to reading tha kama sutra and eating curry for entertainment dammit you caucazoids get all the fun!!!
  5. i gotta go with BK when i do feel like ingesting large amouts of trans fatty acids, i believe they have the better deal. for one, as someone mentioned before, they have a better breakfast menu, and since my first class of the day last semster was 7:45 AM, i was usually up early enough. their cinimini's rock, plus you get a crown, does Mc Donald's offer a crown? no. so as a kid i dug them more i don't know if you guys have IN N Out out there on the east coast, but In N Out is a 50's type hamburger joint that offers food very cheap, their burgers are killer, but their fries suck, if you guys have those out there, lemme know, i'm like the only one out here who thinks their fries are disgusting and oh yeah, bk's fries are better than mc donalds, please, mc donald's fries are oily and disgusting and KFC, okay the last time my friends and i went there, my friend found a fingernail in her cornbread, needless to say, i never want to go there again, what do you guys think is the best diner? a friend of mine and myself got into an argument about this the other day, she digs denny's, everytime i go to denny's i swear there's always some hick there, plus their food and milkshakes suck, i think IHOP is better, and they're open 24 hours a day too like ihop, and their food is wayy better than denny's, lyon's is better too (dont' know if you guys get those on the east coast) and foster freeze kicks ass.. DENNY'S SUCKS
  6. ps. lauren think about it, if you room with us you won't have to be with ahem, lauren k or any other of the annoying "band whores" i plan on keeping a BIG distance between myself and them for the duration of the trip. oh the nazis too.. pps.. choir is coming too.. yes i know some choir people are equally annoying, but some people in choir are cool too..
  7. it's not that the prospect of going on a band/colorguard trip whips me into a frenzy, but come on, some cool people will be there like kathryn, tiff, janeen, and kelly (can be at times) plus i have some friends in so-cal who are probably going to meet up at the hotel and come by, so all and all it's not so bad, i didn't turn my money in on fri either i'm turning it in on mon and i haven't been to disneyland in forever, hell i've been to DISNEY WORLD more than disneyland.
  8. ha! i hate the whole "rocker" stereotype, i get thrown into that shit too.. i will always remember when kathryn and i broke into a song from "Evita" during ms. long's 1st period, then looked around to make sure nobody was watching.. musicals rule, (well most of them anyway) and hey lauren before i forget, are you going to the spring trip to disneyland? if so, do you want to room with me, kathryn, and tiffany? (you have no hangups over her being a lesbian right?) but anyway we were talking about it today, and we're like "hey lauren would be a good 4th person to room with" so if you're going, that'd be cool.. i just ask because we have to give room requests soon, and we all don't want to be stuck with some mentally devoid idiot for the duration of spring trip (or one of the nazis.. oh god *shutter*)
  9. eh athena, you only live once ;) but what the hell do i know? i'm 16, i live life from moment to moment.
  10. SHIT i'm sorry my dumb ass didn't put this in the "movies" forum, jesus, sorry it's early, i'm brewing my coffee right now and i'm not 100% awake..
  11. I tried to look around and tac this up on a new thread, but didn't really find anything relevant, or maybe i'm just not looking hard enough, but in any event i saw a movie the other day which was really good, had witty, off beat humor and it was a dark comedy and i liked it a lot.. i highly reccomend ""Ghost World" it ruled, one of the best movies i've seen this year, it's based on a pulp comic.. i don't know i've never seen it, but it's good, it has thora birch in it playing lead (see was in American Beauty) on a scale from 1-10 i give this a very enthusiastic 8.. everyone have a nice day!
  12. i don't HATE p-roach, honestly some of their stuff was pretty good.. i just hated the way everyone in vaca bit off thier success, arf de meur was the bass player for Hole, and later on replaced D'arcy when she left in the smashing pumpkins
  13. so it's odd that i have loyalties? the only way i can put it is like this, yes, vacaville isn't a cosmpolitan city, and many people who inhabit vacaville are closeminded and dull, but what can i say, i've lived here all my life and it's my hometown. and if a band that hails from my hometown makes it "big" even for a split second, and if the bassist happened to go to the high school i attend, by god, i don't know what it is but i want to support them, that's not the SOLE reason, let's say the bassist from p-roach was up against the arf de meur.. you bet your bottom dollar i'd vote for her over him, but in this instance, hence the CALIFORNIA music awards, it's the best bands, and such out of the STATE, and the choices are limited.
  14. more cake propaganda.. i know NOBODY except lauren and i are from california on this message board.. but you can vote for the California Music Awards nonetheless! here is the site: http://www.musician.com/cma/ they are up for Outstanding album, outstanding single, outstanding modern rock/alternative album, Outstanding group, and Outstanding songwriter.. please vote i swear it takes 2 minutes max.. and another suggestion... vote for P-Roach for best guitarist/bassist, i'm not a big p-roach fan, but they are from little old Vacaville and the bassist DID go to Vanden.. so i'll show my support.. thanks.. and now i will stop procrastinating and go do work..
  15. loadies is the same thing as stoners,
  16. the thing about vanden, is it's a small campus.. so when a fight breaks out, you just see lots and lots of people swarming to the site... it's incredible.. and i mean EVERYONE, from all the cliques, the loadies, the preps, the rockers, the punks, the rappers, ALL GET up and swarm.. the best fight i've ever seen was at vanden, it was between two girls, hispanic and black, and it was over a guy, the guy was just sitting back, all nonchalant, watching the fight, and dude, the funniest part of the whole thing, while they were going at it, the mexican chick goes and pulls the other chicks weave out.. damn that was funny, so the black girl is hopping around going "my weave! my weave! oh no she didnt!!" and all this other shit, come on think of it, most of the fights i've seen at vanden are with females.. we have some savage women down here... i've only been in one physical fight in my whole life.. don't plan on getting into any other ones.. it was painful..
  17. DON'T DESPAIR! i believe you can still download the webcast, it just won't be live... www.cakemusic.com
  18. so, nobody's seen "Roshoman?" oh and i agree, rushmore and royal tannenbaum's had an awesome soundtrack.. i think it was perfect that they used to stone's "Ruby Tuesday" in that one scene.. very appropriate.. and the director uses a lot of Cat Stevens too.. which is cool... i am yet to see bottlerocket, but i hear it's good...
  19. oh and artistic i agree with you, i loved royal tannenbaums... i love dark comedies like that, and owen wilson is a really good director/writer in my opinion..(i LOVED rushmore) the other thing that pissed me off about Vanilla Sky was that they weren't constant with the whole theme of living a dream based on things that you had seen/liked in your real life.. i mean they only pinpointed 3 things, (the bob dylan cover, atticus fitch in "to kill a mockingbird" and penelope cruz was supposed to be likened to audrey hepburn (BLASPHAMEY!) i think it would have been better if cameron crowe had added more things in there, so if you saw the movie a second time you could look back and be like "ohhh i get it now" and am i the only one who thought the soundtrack kicked ass? and you can never go wrong with Jason Lee, he's the man.. other good movie i saw lately was this foregin film made in the 1950's called "Roshoman"by the same director who directed "Seventh Samuraui..." it's on the tip of my tounge.. anyway i thought it was rather good.. i can't stop plugging "Hedwigg and the Angry Itch" by far one of the better movies i've seen this year...
  20. oh please, tom cruise is soooo type cast.. i'm NOT a tom cruise fan.. i mean all that man does is BITCH, and WHINE and it's considered acting.... to me Brad Pitt has more of a range and could have pulled off the movie equally, if not better than Tom Cruise
  21. i'm sure i missed TONS that i haven't thought of. ... i'm sure there are a few of you out there scratching your heads going "winterguard.. what's that?" it's like colorguard, except inside, with more coreography, costumes, and to music.. usually rifles, sabers, flags, swing flags, and other implements are spun.... and usually is centered on a theme freshman year i did winterguard and our theme was romeo and juliet.. good fun...
  22. god, that's funny shit right there
  23. a good movie is Rushmore,, i fucking loved it. i don't know why but i definitely think it's a movie worth seeing if you haven't seen it yet.
