Feast your eyes on the map of Red Dead Redemption 2 (if this leak is in fact real)! Rumors are that it will be a prequel, supported by the map not extending as far west (in fact, the western most portion of RDR2's map is the Eastern most portion of RDR's map). The Tall Trees and Great Plains areas from RDR one can be seen in the southwest corner of the map, including the city of Blackwater. I went ahead an did an overlay of the two maps to get a sense of scale (see below). Certainly larger than RDR, but honestly I was kinda hoping for a much larger world map, as exploring was my favorite part of RDR. Still super excited if this is real!

  2. I've been on a Vinyl kick recently as well, especially since I realized that Amazon Autorip (where you automatically receive a digital copy of an album when you buy physical) also applies to most LPs! I've been picking up a lot of movie and game albums, as well as limited run pieces. I've been grabbing the Data Disc Sega series that Nick's posted above, except I actually jumped on Super Hang On (to be honest I almost passed on it too, but I gave in as I knew the gap in the spine numbering would eventually drive the collector in me mad). I'll post some pics of everything soon, but one came in yesterday that I had to post asap:

This is the first release in the Generations series of limited Vinyl that a company called Brain Wave is putting out. It's a 4 LP set including the complete soundtrack for BOTH the CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions of the arcade board. Beautiful presentation, with an insert with interviews with the original composers and original artwork. Can't wait to see what's next in the series.

  3. I'm of the mind that they waited FAR too long to get these sequels out and any interest has since dried up, but then I never would have guessed that this would have been the phenomena that it was back in '09. I thought it was SPECTACULARLY average back then, and yet it went on to become the top grossing movie of all time. Thankfully Star Wars VII finally eclipsed the domestic record.

  4. Nearly played through in one sitting the day it dropped. Its incredible how much of this game is hardwired into my memory. Brought back sooo many memories too. It's one of those remakes (I described Rebuild of Evangelion 1 the same way) where they somehow tap into the collective unconcious of what every one REMEMBERS the game looked like, and brought that to life somehow. The audio is particularly impressive, as the music and dialog switches when you toggle between remake and original. Man, that dialog literally POPPED back in the day, the compression was soo bad. Considering that this was the first 'talkie', the performances were away ahead of their time!

  5. Man, It's hard to believe that, by the time it's released in September, it will have been just over a decade since the reveal trailer. I think I would have jumped off a bridge if they finished off that trailer back then with "Coming in 2016".

Sqeenix better up their production if they want to hit FFXXVII by 2027, as promised in Deus Ex.

  6. Woof. Glad some people are finally chiming in. I was expecting a train wreck ever since the first plot details started to leak. It sounded like they were pulling inspiration from too many disperate story lines and points in the characters histories to make a cohesive plot that would resonate and without the writing and directing talent to make it work (I was NOT a fan of Man of Steel). After seeing it....damn. I think the movie fell SO hard on it's face, in SOOO many ways, that I don't even have the heart to criticize it too hard. I have more of an urge to be the guy to help it up and give it a half hearted pep-talk so that I don't read about how it hung itself it it's garage later on this week. Some assorted thoughts....

-Before the movie came out I had mentioned to Nick and Panch how DC/WB's desperation was PALPABLE and it seemed like they were throwing EVERYTHING in this movie, without rhyme or reason in hopes something would stick. The Batman movies bank, lets throw Batman in there. What are the most popular Superman/Batman stories? Dark Knight Returns? Superman Red Son? Death of Superman? Throw ALL that shit in there! Wonder Woman, hell yeah. Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg? Fuck YES. What about Martian Manhunter? NO, FUCK THAT GUY! I knew this movie was going to be packed, but I am SHOCKED at how much they blew their load in this movie. It's clear that the pacing problems in this film extend to the planning for the DCCU as well. I really think they are in over their heads and have NO idea what they are doing or where they are going.

-Jesse Eisenburg as Luthor is just as bad, if not worse than we all thought when that mis-cast was first announced.

-It's too bad none of the criminal's Batman maimed, crippled or straight up murdered over the course of the film had Moms named Martha....

-Man, when the ghost of Kevin Costner showed up all I could think was 'Fuck, what terrible advice is he going to give Clark now...'

-Speaking of, the idea the movie tried to push that Lois is Superman's sole tie to humanity, and if anything ever happens to her we are all proper fuuucked is about the most un-superman thing I can think of.

-And on the note of Clark and Lois, didn't it feel like we missed a movie or something along the way? Granted I've tried to forget most of Man of Steel, but did their relationship start in that movie??

-God I hated the fact that they moved around the geography so that Gotham and Metropolis were RIGHT next to each other.

-Crap, here I am kicking a movie while it's down when I said I wouldn't.....Um good things, good things: Alfred, Perry White were both great. I liked the joke Ma Kent made when Batman saved her (even though he was trying to kill her son about 12 minutes prior). I actually really like the street level perspective of the events of Man of Steel the movie opened with, it did a great job conveying the horror of what it must have been like to be there. Also, there were quite a few moments with Superman that evoked wonder, grace and awe, which was one of my biggest gripes about Man of Steel.

-I DO like Henry Cavill in the role. I don't think it's his fault at all that his outings in the tights have been so mixed. There were SO many missed opportunities to do interesting things with Supes and his abilities. In the beginning, when the African warlord had Lois hostage, I was like, 'Ooo this is an interesting setup, how's Superman going to resolve this. Oh...he just flies at the guy....lame. Batman uses smoke to evade Superman? What about his fucking x-ray vision? That shit should not have worked. As Nick mentioned, Clark should have evaded the second kyptonite smoke bomb with speed or his super-breath or SOMETHING.

There, were definitely moments of promise in this movie, which make it all the more upsetting that the movie fails so utterly. If this were in the hands of more capable writers and a different director, I would have LOVED to have seen 'The Trial of the Superman' or 'Mr Kent Goes to Washington' which dealt solely with the world's reaction to the presence of a Superman, how to deal with him and his place in this world; a tighter sequel to Man of Steel. These were the most interesting themes in the film, but there is SO much else going on, they are kind of glossed over. It could have still had Batman, in a reduced role maybe. I don't know....

  7. I really think you should Spoiler Tag that image ASC!!

Not sure about the suit. I mean, I knew it would pale in comparison to ASM2 suit, you can't improve on perfection. Looks like an Alex Ross design. Aside from that, movie looks absolutely incredible. Best of luck BvS!

  8. Damn, you beat me to it. I've been trying to post this for an hour, but I couldn't get the embedded code through my mobile device!

In regards to the trailer, apparently Leslie Jones is playing the blue-collar 'everyman' (everywoman??) role a la Winston. It's 2016 people, we can't have a black scientist??
