  1. Yeah, definitely a purple drank tinge to the flavor of it. Definitely.
  2. Holy Moses in a basket! Y'all are getting this upset over a bunch of assholes on fucking Twitter? Seriously, grow a pair. Besides, it's not like Spidey's Superman or anything...
  3. 1:00AM? Shouldn't you be work... Oh, wait. Yeah. And WTF is wrong w/ these twats on fb & Twitter? http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk...-man.html"" target="_blank">Just b/c they can get Betty White a 2hr gig on SNL they think they can get away w/ this horseshit!?!?? The guy is hilarious on COMMUNITY, but Peter Parker? GTFO!
  4. God bless the suit @ Disney that gave these Muppet viral vids the greenlight. My guess is they only did it to boost the Muppets awareness in the current pop-culture ether as to smooth the way for the forthcoming Muppets movie, but whatever. More Muppets works for me.
  5. Leave it to NZA to find a gif mocking the ending to a show he hasn't even watched. it is kinda fuckin' funny though.
  6. ^^Great choice, DOJ! I love that film--it's anachronistically fantastic. Anachrontastic? I watched this one w/ the gf on Logan’s suggestion. You have to wait around for an hour or so for any semblance of a plot to emerge, but some of the random, rambling monologues are cool--some are just random and rambling. Both the gf and I were a bit confounded as to why this one got so much praise until we watched the documentary on the DVD. The interviews w/ the director were revealing and helped me gain more appreciation for the film. One must also take into account that the film was made before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the influences it’s had since it was released. (Ah, NOW I know why Kevin Smith put his angels in trench coats in Dogma!) Maybe I’ll give it another try one day (Criterion claims to have a superior translation to the one on this DVD), but when I put this one in we were in the mood for a romantic drama and this film has that element, but begs so much more of the viewer. It’s a love story for pre-unification Berlin, and also, in a sense, for all humanity. Overall: B
  7. Don't enable Nick's misuse of the word "morning," Jax. But I'm glad to know the type of things that are on y'all's minds when Nick wakes up around 4PM and you can tear yourself away from the multi-sensory overload of Daria, Net surfing, and Mafia Wars long enough to converse w/ him.
  8. Man, couldn't disagree more, Boogie. I felt the ending on the island was awesome, The sideways world ending was kinda lame though.
  9. Wow. Balls the size of a baby elephant on that guy. Seriously.
  10. OK, that was good. I mean, really good. I lost my shit when "remembered" each other. That was by far the most emotional moment of the finale for me. I saw the final shot coming from a mile away, but it still didn't make it any less meaningful. little speech didn't really impress me, it was just vague enough yet felt a bit too heavy handed in making sure we (meaning the fans) all knew Right? Of course, there are still questions: PS. Did anyone else receive a call from NZA during the finale or was I the only special geek that got that unbelievably mind blowing distraction honor?
  11. On the Fillion casting front: I'd agree he'd make a better Pym than Hawkeye. Fillion is a bit too old to be a badass action hero; I think the (mad) genius role suits him better.
  12. In honor of this: I will attempt this: I've a spinal surgeon on standby...
  13. You may be right about Jack, ASC. But I think when they Only 3.5 more hours left though. Shit's gettin' real.
  14. Saw the new Robin Hood film. I was kinda half jokingly wanting this film to be Gladiator In Tights, but it was more like Kingdom Of Heaven in England. I'm big fan of the Robin Hood legend, and an unapologetic fan of the Costner Prince of Thieves film, which I do believe that was an overall more entertaining film than this Russell & Ridley take on the story. However, it was a unique concept in doing a more "origin" POV---almost like a Robin Hood Begins. Overall: B Damnit, this sounds up my alley. I'm a lil' pissed this one was completely off my radar. Is it an older film?
  15. ^^ Finally! I need to catch up on the HULK books. Although I think I kinda got a spoiler in Ultimate Comics Ultimates v2 #1 (Jesus H. Christ, that's a long fuckin' title for a comic.)
  16. This clip may very well be the nexus of all that is awesome:
  17. Iron Man 2 B If you loved the first Iron Man film with its charismatic lead, engrossingly topical superhero story arc (semi)grounded in realism, and adrenaline inducing action sequences then this sequel will most likely leave you saying—“meh.” Iron Man 2 suffers from what so many superhero sequels do: too-many-characters-itis. What you get with Iron Man two is a gaggle of interesting new characters that are fighting for screen time and a lot less frickin’ Iron Man. There are three pretty fantastic action scenes in the film, but only one carries any real emotional weight for the main man Tony Stark. I won’t spoil it here, and I definitely think it’s worth seeing on the big screen, but overall Iron Man 2 ended up being a case of too much leading to too little. Away We Go C+ If I mentioned Sam Mendes directs a script by Dave Eggers about a young couple on the verge of being parents and how they travel cross-country to decide where they’d like to raise their offspring you might say to yourself this film sounds like a load of thirty-something, sentimental trite basted in a medium coating of upper-middle-class academia self righteousness. And, ya know what, you’d be right. It also has some scenes with genuine humor and sincerity but they’re lost in a plot trying to ground itself in relevancy yet the two protagonists live a life (I’d guesstimate) only 5-10% of the world’s population could even remotely relate to.
  18. *sigh* Again w/ all the spoiler tags muppet baby nza? The series has been over for, what, two years now? Anyway, I agree w/ your analogy that S2=
  19. It's not "someone," it's BaytorH8R5000. So it's par for the course. I haven't read any of the re-boot stuff, but ultimately (har-har-har!!!) I thought Ultimatum was a pretty cool way to kinda re-boot Ultimateverse. I agree, I only stick around for the Ellis arcs in UFF, but Loved Millar's Ultimates. Ultimate Iron Man was also very good. ALthough the follow up was a bit meh in my opinion. I haven't really read any Ultimate Spidey or X-men though.
  20. Axel just posted this in shoutbox and I thought I'd post it here for posterity: Six of the Creepiest Comic Book Characters of All Tine
  21. You're at a really interesting point in the series now...
  22. Unfortunately, it looks as if I'll have to agree w' that assessment. Sadly my expectations for this film have dropped to -3 w/ that trailer. WTF does Hollywood not get that action films and westerns are not two genres that should really be blended?
  23. This is why Spock is in my avatar and not Kirk.
