  1. Can't believe Tarantino wasn't at least nominated for best director. That's the only thing I'm surprised about though.
  2. Agreed. Did you check out that Julia Holter album? You would love it - it's surreal and lovely.
  3. All amazing albums Ross. Thanks for reminding me about some of them. That Godspeed You Black Emperor album should probably go on my top 10 as well. I don't know what I would replace it with though :(
  4. This is a really fantastic review: http://blogs.suntimes.com/foreignc/2012/12/django-america.html "We find every type of violence in this film. Sometimes it forces us to cringe; I had to squint to obscure some moments, or look away during others. Sometimes the violence forces us to laugh because it gets so excessive that it becomes cartoonish. Sometimes, however, as a tale of vengeance it invites us to celebrate." "Thus, that culture of mastery also gives us a hint about the roots of our problems of violence. This film loads itself with altruistic violence, if there can be such a thing
  5. I don't know if y'all will be super interested in this, but I really look forward to Ebert's best of list every year...he writes outstanding reviews, and it gives me a chance to check out movies that I hadn't even heard of before http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2012/12/eberts_top_movies_of_2012.html
  6. 2012 was a fantastic year for music, and I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite albums are. I'll start! 1. Clark - Iradelphic (Just amazing. Etheral. Lovely.) 2. Alex Clare - The Lateness of the Hour (Diplo was the producer. And this is pop music at it's finest, as far as I'm concerned) 3 Frank Ocean - Channel Orange (The first single he released from the album brought me to tears, and while I'm not a *huge* hip hop fan - this was simply outstanding. 4. Com Truise - In Decay (Just a great album from start to finish. It's one of those albums that sounds better if you listen to the wh
  7. I didn't mean to add it twice. The second one should have been "Rise of the Guardians", I'm fixing it now. But...yea Brave was pretty great
  8. 1. Django Unchained 2. Life of Pi 3. Beasts of the Southern Wild 4. John Dies at the End 5. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 6. Brave 7. Cabin in the Woods 8. The Avengers 9. Cloud Atlas 10. Moonrise Kingdom 11. Rise of the Guardians 12. Wreck it Ralph /edit - Accidently put Brave up there twice, hehe.
  9. Welp thanks to NZA and Logans I havn't been able to sleep tonight. Ended up actually checking out the website, which by all accounts existed before the creepypasta was written, and while the videos described in the creepypasta DO exist in some capacity, it's not at all how it's described. That's literally all I can tell you about that site, and I've been combing through the forum and stuff for almost two hours now. Here are the videos on the site: http://normalpornfornormalpeople.com/index.php/video-index Apparently people have been dissecting them for various meanings? I'm going to
  10. 2013 is shaping up to be an amazing year for cinema. Also - The Great Gatsby looks like it's going to be incredible. Can't wait to see it. The End looks incredibly silly and fantastic - I love it when actors play themselves in things. I think that's why I love that show Don't Trust the B in Apt 23 - James Vanderbeek plays himself, and he's hilarious at it.
  11. You know...I was kinda surprised he was nominated as supporting actor - he was in almost every scene. I wonder if they intentionally did that so he would be an award contender. I'm almost positive Daniel Day Lewis is going to take best actor in every awards show there is; I don't agree with it, but it was just that sorta role.
