  1. I showed this to Til recently while Alana and I enjoyed the nostalgia factor. It was pretty inclusive and wide-reaching for it's time but maddening to watch as an actual caregiver nonetheless.

I predict the reboot is going to curl it's metaphorical spine to be extry-inclusive and all our nostalgias will be taken behind the bike shed.

I'm not saying inclusiveness is bad or ruins things, just that applying today's sensibilities to any 90's property is a recipe for disaster.

  2. Even though the well has mostly been drained(surely there's some better hypotheticals than X becoming punisher or punisher becoming X though), I like the random releases when there's something to say over monthly grind.

    Throw some favourite stories up!

Here's one of mine, possibly because it was the first issue I picked up

Rez, on the other hand, all but justified the tech for me.

That's how I feel about Dangerball(VR worlds) and the VR mode of Super Stardust. I don't need photorealism, just something that fools me enough that I knock shit all over my desk every ten or so minutes.

Rez is on my list, I'ma have to wait for another sale though.

I haven't looked into the why of it, but the packaging and games take great pains to ensure I don't hand this to someone under 12. And I'll stick to that, but it's a shame because it could be a hell of a learning/education tool.

  4. Blowing the dust off this thread to share my early impressions of PSVR after I decided to impulse buy in.

It's pretty great. I've never been all about them graphics so I'm happy with how it looks, although I can see how people who care about that stuff would be very put off.

Honestly, so far I've played a few games, watched some immersive 360 degree videos ranging from go pro flight to under water shit to VR porn and have had a blast. The games are going to be short but they're immersive and have replay value(the pack in VR worlds has this two man version of Warlords which is pretty ace). Apparently RE7 has 18 hours of story to it, making it the biggest VR game to date(on ps anyway). I played the VR demo(Kitchen) and that was pants-shittingly scary so I have high hopes for the full version.

  5. Yeah I don't hear people keeping positive about their healthy white cell count, for sure.

I'm probably in the minority who's excited for this because I rated the last few X-men movies higher than any Marvel effort it was competing with at the time.

And what I read from the mental health approach is that they're taking the same angle Ultimate X-men did which in turn took it's queue from Sentry & The Void. If it's a respectful dialogue I don't see a problem.

*queue Kanye Primal scream* BI-POLAR IS HIS SUPERPOWER.

Sorry I know this is about new design or old school blowjobbery with nothing inbetween buuuuut

The last/previous iteration of the turtles was bloody fantastic. I never thought I'd see something I liked more than my 90's cartoon but the animation was slick, the theme different but kept the pentameter and feel, and the story explored some crazy situations(and sprouted toys wherever it went. go figure :2t: ).

For a PG rated show they really pushed some fun and slightly alarming horror & sci fi references in too.

  7. Oh dude,  there's butchery abound(the relationship between Jody and Jesse alone...!)  but here's my pitch: go in expecting to find the meat woman,  as opposed to eighty-odd kilos of perfectly edible meat and you'll have a better time.

  8. I dunno if I already posted here so apologies if I repeat myself anywhereanywhere.

Season 3 just started and they've just made it to Angelville. The show feels like Preacher even if the characters are a grand departure from source and the timeline's fared about as well as one of TC's chickens.

Mostly I'm in for the cinematography because the colours and the shots are gorgeous. And in terms of adaption I've found it easier to just pretend this is harmless exploration into  the characters than butchery of a beloved comic that probably hasn't aged well in the year twenty-eighteen.

It's always context with this dude.

Legit question to the panel though: Are you taking umbrage because you think he's serious or because he's making unhelpful statements in a (speculative) deliberately provocative way? Trolling the media for exposure?

    *******

re your sidebar NZA-  I was thinking about this recently given the mercifully quick rise and fall of triple xxx tentacle or whatever his name was(by the time I sounded it out he was dead anyway) and where he sat on the artist V scumbag scale all artists reside on. Like literally bar graphing out behaviours versus the music they created will help you figure out what you can listen to guilt-free.

  10. This bit's relevant to the thread.

but on a sidenote Ye has made me a believer again. This is the clearest he's been since 808's. It feels good to love the guy's work again.

This is from just prior to the release of Ye. The guy has clearly benefitted from addressing his mental health. It looks like he's back on track, and certainly the works are reflecting that IMO.

On a slight grumble, I'm only halfway through at the moment but I'm guessing this is the source of all the Kanye trump support media content. Personally I find it slightly more problematic to hear him talk about how he dresses his wife? Eccch.

I've listenend to Daytona, Ye and Kids See Ghosts so far and I've really enjoyed them. Pusha and Kid Cudi's albums have a consistent higher energy than Ye but nothing feels out of place. I'm looking forward to listening to Nasir and KTSE

  11. Only Kanye thread in sight and no mention of G.O.O.D music anywhere so admin lemme know if there's a better thread to put this.

I've listened to Ye and it isn't bad. I like it a lot better than Pablo for the standout tracks like Ghost Town and Yikes, it's a lot more cohesive than Pablo or even Yeezus before it. Seven tracks @ a total playtime of 23 minutes is a minimal investment of time, which I like too.

I'm told the move is to listen to all five albums from the Wyoming sessions (I'll list below) together and it forms a much richer tapestry.

    Pusha T: Daytona

    Kanye: Ye

    Kid Cudi: Kids See Ghosts

    Nas: Nasir

    Teyana Taylor: KTSE

  12. I'm catching up on books for the first time in more than a year, starting with Saga of course(all the reacts and such).

At some point I would love to see Fiona Staples-and BKV depending on level of involvement- release a book on their character design, cause I swear aside from a top-notch, suspenseful story that continually delivers cliffhangers, that book blows me away near-every issue with some crazy new visual monstrosity. I'd love to know their process.

  13. Adam's been dogging me to play the Witcher since forever, I'm guessing the engine will probably ape that to some extent. Now that I'm actually finished with Skyrim and between Fallouts, I can check these out.

That being said I prefer first to third person where possible.
