  1. Well I've got ALOT of experience on the MMORPG front and the Console/PC game front. Granted Innovation has kind of hit a standstill with alot of massive online games out there. The biggest deterrent for most folks trying to get in on one is the lack of competant people who pla alot of them. Theres unfortunately alot of Immature Retards , powerleveling min/maxers who dont give a rats ass about interaction :rail: and troublemaking PKers . My solution? Fuck the masses. :werd: Most good Single player games support private gaming between PC's or have password locked rooms (a la diablo) so you can have a good ole fashioned co-op or deathmatch on friendly terms. And the ones that forse you out into the masses (EQ) I find some friends I already know, and group up for some adventuring. The best Online experiance I've had thus far is with Gemstone 3. The main reason being the average age is 20's-40's mostly on the upper end. Lots more maturity. Granted snerts did make it rough for a time but for a slightly higher fee you can play in Platinum where for the most part the players police themselves. Act like an ass? Life's gonna be rough change for the better or get run outta town. Great people really but no putting up with bullshit. Also a very big emphasis on roleplaying. Anyhow, Alot of new games are coming out in the not too distant future Star wars: Glaxies, Earth & beyond, Sims, Coupla Superhero ones. but they will be pulling FRESH folks in not just EQ or AoC converts so theres hope there. But all in all the Online gaming experiance is determined by the company you keep. Grouping with buddies is the most fun/rewarding i've found but with a lil patience theres good folks to meet up with in every MMORPG if you look long enough . ~TD
  2. Heh i just cant resist sometimes, its almost to easy. ~TD
  3. Effective April 1st new street lights will come online in response to several complaints to the dept. of transportation regarding safety of other drivers and pedestrians. The new lights have been designed to give each individual lane its own perspective on the road along giving more crossing angles to pedestrians depending on the flow of traffic. pictured below is a photo of one of the smaller versions to be used on low traffic suburban streets... ...Early reports hinted that an accident involving some kind of endangered albino species being struck by a black explorer rushed the decision for new lights, forcing the design phase to cut short, but that is still unconfirmed and city hall states firmly that the new lights are the best the city can offer. ~TD
  4. ROFLMAO! damn you gotta get me a copy of that tape, that outta be hilarious! You can send it over with the suitcase of food and burned CD's that should be coming any day now...yep...anyday... :wary: ~TD
  5. After some thinking i've shifted my vote to... Xaviers Institute Insight on books with pictures... or somethin to that effect. ~TD
  6. Preach on brotha! Amen and Halleluliah! So shall it be written, so shall it be done! So sayeth the lord! ~TD
  7. AH HA!!! Busted! you played the ancestor to Gemstone as well my friend! and liked it! Mwahahaha! That was a predecessor to the text based MUD's like gem too. Now granted Gem has evolved obscenely much further than Rogue but you have a glimpse now of how a text based game can keep a man hooked. ~TD
  8. www.freeroms.com & www.emulazone.com are 2 links on my fav's that still are live. ~TD
  9. Yeah Fallout was a fun ass game. i'm still kicking myself for never finishing it. tried looking for it the other day and realized that i left it back in Miami with you. ??? I need to find a copy of it eventually and give it another go. "Remember kids! if you see a bright flash and a Mushroom cloud just Duck and Cover!"
  10. Well i'll admit bro ya did have a bit of bad luck, But honestly things have changed. The population of the game has greatly shifted, Alot of the Snobby fuckers got fed up and left and alot of the older folks who had played the game for years before they were on the web have returned who actually ACT like the legends they are. There are a few new towns now that have the "hometown" feel where folks help each other out, Killed townfolk are searched for actively, and the attitude in general has gotten so much lighter. I think if you gave it another shot you might like what you see. And you'd have me Kym and A few of our friends to give ya a hand here an there. Just lemme know if ya want to give it another go, ya dont even need a credit card if you use the MSN gaming zone... ~TD
  11. What are things that have been done in games that you wish would become a standard game feature? what have you seen done that defines a character class for you? what has been done in the past that could have evolved into a great idea but died off? For example on the poll i made earlier i touched on Treasure boxes being found on creatures in Gemstone. I love getting boxes as additional treasure then taking them back to town and seeing what they hold while i absorb the exp i got hunting, its a GREAT game concept that i cant belive another game hasnt copied (Diablo kinda has someting like this with the random boxes spread around the land but not quite the same) Any other thoughts?
  12. Behold! The first thread to be UN-Crapshacked! Mwahahaha! Ok anyhow seems this topic actually has generated a response or two so i've taken nicks suggestion and shuffled it over here to see if i get any more bites. ~TD
  13. Sorcerors are pretty badass when they get older, They are hard to level early on thou because physically they are so damn weak. BUT once you get a few levels under your belt and come into the good spells there are very few who can hold up against an old Sorc. Their spells include Blood burst (rips open the targets jugular vein), Disintegrate, Mind jolt (nasty stun), Limb disruption (breaks a random limb on the target), implosion, Curse, disease, Eye Spy (your eye leaves its socket grows wings then you controll it as a scout), Evil eye (turns your scouting eye into a long range weapon) and many others. :sly: ~TD
  14. Well if you think so nick sure shuffle it on over to the games area, i just didnt wanna incite a troll fest over there if this turned ugly  There are some slight twists for the paladins in Gemstone thou. They are fighters but they have to train harder then most classes to keep the physical skills up, and they actually have some pretty sweet spells. They are the only ones in the game that can raise you when your dead otherwise you decay and respawn on the altar in town (nasty exp loss) plus they have some great Defense spells, wicked vs undead spells, blessing weapons, Commune with the gods, ects. They cant heal thou thats left to the empaths. And rangers arent as bad as junker paints them. Their fighters with nature related spells, one can call a bee swarm, one calls vines around you to pull the enemy to the ground, Foraging spells t o help find herbs, skinning spells to get better prices at the furrier, some good strength and defense spells. its a nice hybrid caster/fighter class.
  15. Ahh nostalgia... Yeah the master system rocked. Still one of the best systems ever made in my opinion, even better than NES. I STILL have sega roms on my PC. Probably my favorite game of all time would be Monster boy in wonder land. I STILL HAVE NOT MANAGED TO BEAT THAT FUCKING GAME! i've been trying for what, 14 years!?!? dear god what sadistic fuck decided to give no continues or passwords just a random roulette style game to decide if you live on or die! The game itsself kicks ass thou, Nice and simple Action sidescroller with a little touch of RPG. a virtual classic. ~TD
  16. I myself Primarily Play a Rogue. He's a good fighter, a great locksmith and a good thief when the occasion calls for it. Lockpicking is probably one of my favorite aspects of the game. This is the only game i have seen to date where you can go hunt creatures and once killed they can be skinned for a pelt which you can sell at a furrier in town then search it and among the regular treasure you can find Locked boxes. You can then open them if your skilled enough and have a lockpick with you or visit the area in town the the locksmiths hang around in and have your box opened to find things like coins, gems, magic items and even unique weapons. This would have worked so well in Everquest the rogues there were so bland, backstabbing is NOT a character defining skill... ~Lord Aiucard
  17. OK heres another shamless Gemstone plug. Recently started playing again and i was curious as to what kind of characters you folks would all be if you were to start playing Gem. Placed in the crap shack assuming nobody will respond cept trolls. I Still think alot of yas would have a blast if ya looked into it. ~TD
  18. When in doubt Fire the inker, hes just a glorified tracer anyway. ~TD
  19. I liked The Danger Room and maybe a subject line underneath of "What comics will survive this madness?" or something... ~TD
  20. I GOT IT!!! "remember when a fly drops 6 inches that it screwed alot of people before it reached your pussy" or "when you see a fly drop 6 inches think about how many people it screwed before it gets you wet?" i gotta be close!
  21. basicaly on this one it came down to the joker for me too. The rest were very good casting calls on appearance and in some cases the character itself but the joker was a truley insane enemy, and jack pulled it off like no one else possibly could. ~TD
  22. well i'm kinda torn. In my opinion you would need the ORIGINAL writer AND artist to present the character well for people to even notice, then good writers after the original passes it on to keep the story strong and a good cast of villians to keep it from becoming a crappy rerun comic. basically any missing element cripples the comic but credit really must go to all or none. ~TD
  23. Blow me, all of ya! My predictions arent that bad. Thin red line was the only one i dragged people to that i was profusely sorry for. And besides i know the entire history for the era that the second movie is in so i know the potential and with what i've see in the trailer it looks like i'm dead on. So there! :p ~TD
