    Sega

i love this classic arcade era of yu suzuki, all bangers
  2. also!i totally forgot about luigi’s mansion 2….that’s such a mixed bag for me part 1 was shat on so hard at the gamecube’s launch for being short (which i loved, it was really replayable i thought), i swear i remember it being called a “tech demo” and the like, and they clearly took that to heart so here comes dark moon for the 3DS! i was so hyped, but hoooo doggie does that game go on too long. worse yet, i recall the lack of checkpoints & some brutal bosses making me lose so much time in the process, i powered through but didn’t wanna play it again. maybe not being stuck with the 3DS’ controls will soften that? i love this series, but yeah, here’s to hoping for some tweaks
  3. 10 YEARS LATERRRRR this was such a good direct - Super Mario RPG remake looks good! also i kept hearing rumors it was gonna be another fire embelm remake and i like this better - Pikmin 4 all over my face (demo next week, older titles on digital is neat) - new wariorware! i don't know who else is all about the microgames, but i'm glad this series yet lives - Dragon Quest Monsters finally crosses the pond, time to get into this one as well - MGS series is pretty cool, glad the NES & MSX games are there, as well as the cool PSP comics. bummer to read konami is gonna konami it right up and not actually have the games on the fuckin cart, but i'm gonna get this on playstations anyway - 2D mario that's finally not the NSMB series! man, the WU one was fun but i never dug that artstyle/music, this looked a lot cooler. plus - don't really care about star ocean 2 but i'm sure some folks do we'd already seen sonic but it was cool here, i'm sure i'm forgetting other stuff also! next month is the 40th' anniversary of the famicom, so they're gonna have something for that and i love this image
  4. i honestly had no interest in this after recent trailers/videos, and was just telling @C_U_SPACECOWBOY how maybe the problem is me, since i didn't really feel one way or another about XV and had accepted that i'd no idea what i wanted from a new FF anyway? and how maybe that factored into my love for dragon quest these days, as a series with a much stronger tao/sense of self etc i grabbed the demo as soon as it went up, and the first half felt...game of thrones-y, which is also something i'm not too big on these days, so i thought it'd run downhill. by the end of it, I'd been digging the combat (at least on story mode) and even knowing it'd end soon, was bummed it was over on that cliffhanger! haven't had a demo sell me like that in a while, my low expectations may have helped but damn, i'm gonna want this one when it drops next week, and i still have zelda left to finish
  5. that'd be kinda perfect; most folks want feMC, but what time i put into the answer felt kinda wasted honestly
  6. easily one of the best of this series - face is an absolute legend, this was fantastic. his backup singers are all incredible
  7. screwed up the spoiler tags in the last post, ah well let's keep going
  8. i can't believe the outdid the last one, that was the best spidey film man shit
  9. damn, they all went private? anyway
  10. leaker who was right about the recent games: i know the gap from 4 to 5 was 8 years (HD development hit everybody) but maaaaan
  11. it's funny looking back on the first page of this thread, sometimes it takes years before i'm somewhere to really get into something. rewatching it with teri this last week, it's prolly one of my favorite shows i absolutely used much of that "survival guide" image i posted higher up and skipped around the middle of season 2, after the studio pushes lynch to tie up the murder of laura palmer it realllly goes to some deadend plot bits (had to jump around to find bits about the lodges) we just finished fire walk with me, jumping into season 3 soon. ive caught so much more this time around, and i'm really looking forward to doing the return while it's all fresh in my head & i don't have to keep looking up names & plot points i'd also done a deep dive into lore & takes on the ending (it really stuck with me), here's a somewhat convoluted one i'd enjoyed also? "fix your hearts or die" is such a dope mantra to use against transphobes, what a gift https://i.imgur.com/Epk9ceD.mp4
  12. after the disappointing news of yakuza gaiden not (yet) getting a physical release, this is rather welcome
  13. jesus christ atlus, keep it in your pants a few days longer glad i opted not to replay 3 yet, hyped for that! ill be honest, i'm kinda tapped out of all the spinoffs of 5. i did my 100+ hours with it, ive accepted i likely won't go back for royal/etc. i bought strikers when it was like $10, i know they milk these & i'm glad they eat off em, but it only makes me more interested in either older ones or the next thing (which i'm hoping we see something more of 6 this year?)
  14. I was shooting heroin and reading "The Fountainhead" in the front seat of my privately owned police cruiser when a call came in. I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. It was the chief. "Bad news, detective. We got a situation." "What? Is the mayor trying to ban trans fats again?" "Worse. Somebody just stole four hundred and forty-seven million dollars' worth of bitcoins." The heroin needle practically fell out of my arm. "What kind of monster would do something like that? Bitcoins are the ultimate currency: virtual, anonymous, stateless. They represent true economic freedom, not subject to arbitrary manipulation by any government. Do we have any leads?" "Not yet. But mark my words: we're going to figure out who did this and we're going to take them down … provided someone pays us a fair market rate to do so." "Easy, chief," I said. "Any rate the market offers is, by definition, fair." He laughed. "That's why you're the best I got, Lisowski. Now you get out there and find those bitcoins." "Don't worry," I said. "I'm on it." I put a quarter in the siren. Ten minutes later, I was on the scene. It was a normal office building, strangled on all sides by public sidewalks. I hopped over them and went inside. "Home Depot™ Presents the Police!®" I said, flashing my badge and my gun and a small picture of Ron Paul. "Nobody move unless you want to!" They didn't. "Now, which one of you punks is going to pay me to investigate this crime?" No one spoke up. "Come on," I said. "Don't you all understand that the protection of private property is the foundation of all personal liberty?" It didn't seem like they did. "Seriously, guys. Without a strong economic motivator, I'm just going to stand here and not solve this case. Cash is fine, but I prefer being paid in gold bullion or autographed Penn Jillette posters." Nothing. These people were stonewalling me. It almost seemed like they didn't care that a fortune in computer money invented to buy drugs was missing. I figured I could wait them out. I lit several cigarettes indoors. A pregnant lady coughed, and I told her that secondhand smoke is a myth. Just then, a man in glasses made a break for it. "Subway™ Eat Fresh and Freeze, Scumbag!®" I yelled. Too late. He was already out the front door. I went after him. "Stop right there!" I yelled as I ran. He was faster than me because I always try to avoid stepping on public sidewalks. Our country needs a private-sidewalk voucher system, but, thanks to the incestuous interplay between our corrupt federal government and the public-sidewalk lobby, it will never happen. I was losing him. "Listen, I'll pay you to stop!" I yelled. "What would you consider an appropriate price point for stopping? I'll offer you a thirteenth of an ounce of gold and a gently worn 'Bob Barr '08' extra-large long-sleeved men's T-shirt!" He turned. In his hand was a revolver that the Constitution said he had every right to own. He fired at me and missed. I pulled my own gun, put a quarter in it, and fired back. The bullet lodged in a U.S.P.S. mailbox less than a foot from his head. I shot the mailbox again, on purpose. "All right, all right!" the man yelled, throwing down his weapon. "I give up, cop! I confess: I took the bitcoins." "Why'd you do it?" I asked, as I slapped a pair of Oikos™ Greek Yogurt Presents Handcuffs® on the guy. "Because I was afraid." "Afraid?" "Afraid of an economic future free from the pernicious meddling of central bankers," he said. "I'm a central banker." I wanted to coldcock the guy. Years ago, a central banker killed my partner. Instead, I shook my head. "Let this be a message to all your central-banker friends out on the street," I said. "No matter how many bitcoins you steal, you'll never take away the dream of an open society based on the principles of personal and economic freedom." He nodded, because he knew I was right. Then he swiped his credit card to pay me.
