  1. so far for me: theatrhythm: final bar line - 2/16 yakuza ishin - 2/21 REmake 4 - 3/24 mega man battle legacy network - 4/14 fight crab - 4/23 zelda: tears of the kingdom - 5/12 final fantasy xvi - 6/22 spider-man 2 - fall advance wars reboot - haha we'll see i'm sure i'm forgetting stuff, what's everyone else looking forward to?
  2. stills talked to me a lot this year about problems our current setup has, which range from 20+ year old software that even with updates, may not be ideal for keeping this much information over time (ill let them get into that when so inclined) we currently only have this board itself, can't do side pages anymore (yeah i know they were mostly terrible but stillll) can't use server space to upload images/etc further this means no control over the backend - we can't do our own custom themes/skins, modifications have to be approved by outside entities etc as i've said for a while now, i've basically traded off this & more for years now just to have someone else responsible for maintaining our board's software, backups and the like. my biggest goal since like '04 was just making sure we don't lose data, but the tradeoffs have only grown i've been wanting to stop letting these fears keep me from making big decisions these days (hence, the move!), so part of that has been giving more thought to the plans of keeping us on a private server, which stills has offered and i can also finally learn how to do if we need backups or that works easier/etc. i know there's only a few of us regulars these days, but wanted everyone's thoughts! it'd mean some downtime, definitely some visual changes, but overall it may be better for keeping our doors open & allowing us to do as we please while we're at it! *edit it's also pretty cool that we're starting the year at 464k posts, closer to a half mill than ever!
  3. 1 year update: i told stills but don't think i posted here - invision either grandfathered us in or just forgot, we stayed at the $30/month rate offered to give the difference back but stills said nah, so what this means is, their donation carries us through most of this year too. all that, plus a sneaky new patron subscriber ( ) last month, which after fees covers half of our current rent! even with the move & looking for new work, i'm more than good to pick up whatever's left. wanted ya'll to know that this is appreciated & leaves us fully funded for 2023!
  4. didn't even know this was gonna be a series, looks cool
  5. yeah, i get it - i was against the SWOLED for the same reasons: if there's no docked visual upgrade, i had no reason to bite then i was working a job that gave me time between patients, and i used a friend's system and noticed the changes: 1) screen size difference isn't massive, but with my vision, it's enough to read most RPG game text, which was huge for me 2) it's not talked about as much, but the audio quality (undocked) is most certainly improved 3) as i have a launch model (great for hacking!), the battery went to shit and this was a big improvement all that to say: yeah, if you play this thing mostly docked, 0 reason to upgrade. if not, might be worth your while. seeing as how tears of the kingdom is dropping without the successor system (not surprising with the state of things), i wouldn't be surprised if we saw the next one in 2024, even though it's going on 6 years & clearly long in the tooth...still selling like hotcakes
  6. @tewibewi showed me this track a few years ago now and...i'm not sure how i missed it? anyway it's our song now
  7. happy 35th anniversary! sega's doing a concert thing for PSO2NG, sadly not much else
  8. not trading up but that's pretty cool if legit
  9. holy shit i'm a metal fan now @DKS01 where you at
  10. not gonna lie, daily bugle lego set has had me tempted all year - still kinda hoping sonic green hill zone goes on sale soon
  11. Netflix reconfirms Password Sharing prevention will start in Early 2023 coupling this with the big layoffs (especially black/minority creators, and much of their animation department) really feels like they're fucking up, only less so than hbo/discovery i guess one day down the road we'll have a documentary on the next service about how capitalism's need for infinite growth ruined a lot of art
  12. fuck, some of these nail the aesthic so much that i'm not sure they're not "inspiration"
  13. Adults are buying toys for themselves, and it’s the biggest source of growth for the industry @Newtype & me literally hit each other up on the regular about figures we're both looking for, and have taken entire trips to find some - from rare walgreens/walmart etc marvel legends exclusives to me currently circulating targets tying to find jakks pacific sonic figures (chaos is nowhere to be found locally...), i absolutely buy more figures these days than i did back then, even when i ddi have money a big part of this is that there's so much more catering to franchises i love, and mold/build quality with detail that i used to only see in statues. having grown up on toy biz's horrible face molds, the detail & articulation today is incredible. i still shell out for video game limited editions sometimes just to have a physical representation of something i've loved
  14. and more current (let's go @Iambaytor) might be time to finally see how this show ended
  15. it's just a channel for interviewing drunk people in japan - first ep is shibuya shinjuku shibashi episode 4: ueno episode 5: ikebukuro episode 6: shibuya with sho (rapper)
