JunkerSeed
Wow, this one was pretty fuckin' disturbing. Robin Williams plays Sy the Photo guy, he's just the guy at Eckerd's or whatever that proccesses and develops your film when you bring your rolls in. Most people don't think twice about him and he tends to blend in with his environment. Well he gets to know some people fairly well through the pictures he developes and becomes obsessed with one particular family. Awesome performance by Robin Williams, I'll never look at him the same again. He is absolutely creepy in this one, much more so than in Insomnia, as much as I liked that one. HIs performance doesn't carry the entire movie though, it's very well directed, cool looking, has great shots, and just lets the performance do the talking when necesarry, cool, subtle score too. Overall just a very good, very disturbing character study about the guy nobody ever thinks about.

Reverend Jax
Wow, you haven't seen a trailer for One Hour Photo? They've been hyping it up alot. Anyway, this movie doesn't compell me to see it, I might though. Robin Williams has really been on a roll since Good Will Hunting, hasn't he? JunkerSeed
Wow, it's odd that you haven't even seen a trailer for it, this one's even getting TV spots, it's getting hyped up a lot. I dont know if we get movies here first though. One hour photo came out a couple of weeks ago in limited release, just places like the beach, and just last friday or the week before that it got a wider release in regular theaters. My advice would be to use fandango.com to check if your area has any theaters showing it, or any theaters that show rare stuff in general. It's playing just about everywhere here, so you should have it. I'd say it's worth hunting down if you want to see a great, fucked up eprformance and justa cool lookign movie. Mulan
This movie was just so creepy. Don't get me wrong it was really really well done. Robin Williams is such a versatile actor. But I'd like to see him in some comedies again. Or is the age of dark humor a permanent one? But i'm with Junker, this movie is definetly worth seeing. Plus cutie pie Michael Varn is in it...like that matters to anyone but me.
soldier of fortune
Saw that trailer before Signs ( i know the shame, but thats another story) looks really interesting!
Reverend Jax
I have initially avioded this movie becasue it looks really creepy. Sometimes this just don't look appealing. Well, I was talked into seeing it (it was either that or XXX, so didn't actually much convincing). HAve to say, it wasn't really as creepy as I thought it would be. I was expecting like Seven-style creepiness. I seemed to me to be mostly a movie about how being fired can really piss people off Anyway, the father in that movie, I wonder if he puts "Tom Cruise look-alike" on his resume. JunkerSeed
Umm, I guess this post has a buncha spoilers, so i'll hide it, read at your own risk. I thought it was plenty disturbing. Though I sorta expected it to get violence, I thought it was very cool that they managed to make a very fucked up movie where nobody actually gets hurt. The way he acted was very realistic, like he really didnt know what he was gonna do untill he did it, and he had no brilliant escape plan or anything. They really made it seem like it could happen to anybody, somebody that you don't even notice normally could be this horribly fucked up person thinking god knows what about you. The realism of it is sorta what got me. I mean, the guy at the photo shop that you've only seen like once before is all of a sudden holding a knife to your throat taking mock-pornographic pictures of you?... I think it qualifies as disturbing.... Well, with all this spoiler talk now, looks like all you folks have to go see it to join in on the conversation! Ha! Reverend Jax
looks like all you folks have to go see it to join in on the conversation! Ha! That kinda threat didn't work on IC with Road To Perdition. I just don't think it's as effective as we'd like it to be. Anyway, I don't know, I guess it was disturbing in a way, I just wsan't really ever creeped out by it. I also didn't find Signs scary. I guess it's just harder to provoke a reaction from me in my old age, but all I know is when I saw first Seven, it disturbed me, and when I saw Alien, it scared me. I thought One Hour Photo was good, and I can see how it's supposed to be disturbing and I can also see how most would be disturbed by it, but I just wasn't. Now Kids, that's fucking disturbing!
