Mr. Sexy Hat Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Awesome, finally some things to look forward to.
gunsmithx Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 As the resident Vita fanboy(so gonna import a jap porn game uses all the interface) I'd like to say that Vita will have at least one launch this year and personally I'm counting on 2 with the euros' getting fucked like always! Also sep/oct/nov is looking retarded again... sigh
Newtype Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Catherine No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise Resistance 3 Persona 2: Innocent Sin Team ICO HD Collection Disgaea 4 Dark Souls Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Guardian Heroes Mass Effect 3 Last Guardian Bioshock Infinite Yakuza of the End ( Zone of the Enders Collection HD Ni no Kuni Way of the Samurai 4 My poor poor wallet.
gunsmithx Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 (newt's very last post) Don't know if this makes you happy or sad, but ME3, last guardian, bioshock arn't comign this year... is ni no kuni even coming out? I thought a translation wasn't announced yet.
The NZA Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 yeah...that list tells me its time to go back to gamefly for a bit.
gunsmithx Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 why if you wait 2 weeks everything will be half off lol
The NZA Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 yeah, that's also pretty true...i just dont know what in that lot i want to keep yet, and i shouldnt just be waiting on newt to move onto the next game, heh. speaking of drops...might make a splinter thread for this, but you saw child of eden/shadows of the damned #'s? fucking ouch.
gunsmithx Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 we'll I'll saw ouch for sure when someone comes up with a money number for development. Remember ps3 still to come and a release for japan as well so that will help it but yeah, needed a cheaper price and psn/xbla.
Newtype Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Don't know if this makes you happy or sad, but ME3, last guardian, bioshock arn't comign this year... is ni no kuni even coming out? I thought a translation wasn't announced yet. I know that but it's still 3 games on my to buy list. Wishful thinking on my part for ni no kuni. May as well add Xenoblade to the list of games.

Thelogan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I didn't know Child of Eden was a full retail game, this whole time I was just assuming it was a XBLA/PSN download. Interesting.
Jables Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Holy shit you guys are getting raped on that. Not only is that the price for Child of Eden here, but it came out weeks ago. I went to pick it up on the weekend but the silly trainee twunt at EB didn't know how to do a trade, so it had to wait.
Newtype Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I didn't know Child of Eden was a full retail game, this whole time I was just assuming it was a XBLA/PSN download. Interesting. The worse part is that the marketing for the game made it seem like the only way you could play it was with just the Kinect.
Jables Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Which is what has me interested. Try as I might I couldn't get into Rez. Popping this on, sparking up and standing in front of my 50in is going to be a special kind of magic carpet ride.
The NZA Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 I didn't know Child of Eden was a full retail game, this whole time I was just assuming it was a XBLA/PSN download. Interesting. i think most of us did, that's the problem. either way, it shouldnt've been more than $40 at retail, tops. if MS wanted to use it to hype Kinect (they did least year with Ubi's presentation, then kinda left it out of theirs), it was a weird choice - a spiritual successor to a niche title that i adore, but zero marketing and $60 (or 50 on PS3, still too high) - the whole thing sounds poorly planned. Shadow is just another victim of standardized pricing. i think. there's games people buy every year or so like Madden, COD, SF etc and get a shit-ton of replay value from, that could be priced closer to $100 with premiums and i think they'd still sell. likewise, i have a lotta love for my single player games - even short ones, but with good gameplay (or in suda's case here, charm) - but whether or not they bother tacking on a half-baked multiplayer, you're still not gonna get me in at $60, and apparently i'm not alone there. what's worse with this one is that literally video game forums that were hyped about this didn 't know it came out. i love platinum and grasshoper studios like i did clover, but they gotta figure out another game plan or just assume week 1 sales will be crap and hope for better when its $30-40 a month or two later.
Thelogan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 $29.99 at Gamestop, if anyone's actually looking to buy it.
The NZA Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 ...damn, that was fast. shut my mouth. just gotta wait and see PS3 impressions now.
Thelogan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Chatter on other boards is that without Kinect it plays almost just like Rez, which is totally acceptable.
The NZA Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 yeah, i'm totally sold on that too. i'm just curious about the other experiences because a) i think i can get a kinect for cheap/free if i wait till later this year (expecting a holiday pricecut), and b) i think Los is debating getting a move for PS3, just wanna see which version holds up better under reviews. im so gonna rent in the meantime.

Now I'm excited. I need something to kill time until Skyrim.
Jables Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 That DOES look pretty fun. If you're doing it on 360 tag me in for release day shenanigans.

Thelogan Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Bless THQ's little heart, Saint'S Row 3 looks awesome and I will be playing it, but they oughta have their head examined for releasing in that window. What I saw: Skyrim, Saint's Row, Assassin's Creed (eventually, still need to play Brotherhood. A sincere thank you to Mort for leaving it at my house several months ago, but I'm a busy man). If Mario 3D gets some crazy awesome reviews and doesn't have shit controls, I'll pick it up. Mainly because of the severe lack of quality 3DS cartridge games (launching without a solid first party lineup was retarded). Everything else can pretty much go die as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure Uncharted is cool, but if I'm gonna play it I need to play the first 2 first. Oh, MGS collection. That's pretty cool too.
The NZA Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 im in the same boat; i still havent played brotherhood but will likely do so & get around to revelations since 2 was so good. Mainly because of the severe lack of quality 3DS cartridge games (launching without a solid first party lineup was retarded). i agree, but you gotta admit, that's pretty much how shit goes now. im impressed Vita's talking about launching with an Uncharted..when was the last time we saw hardware drop solid first/2nd party titles at launch? it's been a minute. I'm sure Uncharted is cool, but if I'm gonna play it I need to play the first 2 first. whenever you get around to it, that can be done on the cheap. ps sonic & zelda > your face
