DA JUDGE Posted March 22, 2002 Author Posted March 22, 2002 Jesse Custer!!! In comparison, how different are they two lists? This clearly illustrates what i love about music, everyone has thier own totally unique tastes! Not a bad list too, good to see The Pixies, the Eels & The Hives getting a mention. Come on forum peeps, anymore 4 anymore? Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted March 22, 2002 Posted March 22, 2002 They are a bit of a world apart. Rock on DA Judge, rock on. Quote
JunkerSeed Posted March 22, 2002 Posted March 22, 2002 Le's see here, for the past couple o' years mine would look like this, in order of preferance. These are all pure gold IMO. 1. Tool - Lateralus 2. NIN - And all the could have been (especially the cd that wasn't live stuff "still") 3. System of a Down - Toxicity 4. Cake - Comfort Eagle 5. Weezer - Green Album 6. Ozma - Rock and Roll part 3 7. Gorillaz - Gorillaz 8. Mudvayne - LD50 9. Stone Temple Pilots - Shangri-La dee da 10. Cranberries - Wake up and smell the coffee. umm, 5 more that I excluded either cause I'm dumb or I thought came out in 99, not 2000 11. Smashing Pumpkins - Machina: The Machines of God 12. Pearl Jam - Binaural 13. Radiohead - Amnesiac 14. Dashboard Confessional - The places you have come to fear the most 15. Finger Eleven - The greyest of blue skies Quote
DA JUDGE Posted March 27, 2002 Author Posted March 27, 2002 Fuck! See what i mean? now we have 3 very different lists, keep 'em coming! Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Like some of your selections Junkerseed, but what is up with MudVayne man, you serious? :p Quote
JunkerSeed Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Absolutely, at first I saw the mudvayne video and thought they just looked like something out of Big Trouble in Little China, then I saw em at Ozzfest and my opinion changed real quick. If you listen to their stuff and forget the fact that they look pretty dumb they're actually really damned good. They're sort of a hardcore band with the polish and talent of a really good metal band (metal, meaning stuff like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, old Metallica). Certainly an aquired taste though. I'm waitin on other people's lists though... surely there are more people on this board who've bought a few cds in the past 2 years... Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Hey y'al. Went out and bought the new McLusky album, "McLusky Do Dallas". Brilliant, everyone should chek it out. For those who haven't heard of this Irish band, if you like frantic rock, humorous vocals and lots of weird distortion I would recommend it. Quote
The NZA Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 surely there are more people on this board who've bought a few cds in the past 2 years... ...not since BMG took away their "bill me later" option to Mr Art Vandale, Mr Puddin Tame, Mr Tony Stark etc ??? Uh...i take recommendatinos here a lot, actually. The last few songs i listened to on Winamp are "Wolftones - Men Behind the Wire" (irish song, heard of it at Preacher's Divinity), "Chicane - Offshore", and "Craig David - Rendezvous". That, and some Johnny Cash, as per usual. Quote
King of Snake Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 You best be burning me one of that MLB! :p PS. I will get round to putting in a list! Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 KoS, gonna do you the 1st album of McLusky's first. If you like that, I believe we may be able to negotiate another deal... Quote
King of Snake Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 So that's how it'll be, you'll get me addicted, then jack up the price!! You're a sly one!! ;) Quote
Reverend Jax Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 I'm not going to be able to come up with 15, but here goes, in no particular order... 1. Tenacious D - Tenacious D 2. Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulance 3. Symphony X - V 4. Rush - Vapor Trails (yet to be releasse, but I've heard the whole thing, so it counts) 5. Incubus - Morning View 6. Live - V 7. ughhh...ummm...you know...stuff.... Can't think of anything else. Pumpkins greatest hit's left out because i felt the spirit of the list eliminated compilations. Quote
JunkerSeed Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 I chose machina over the greatest hits, but if I picked the greatest hits it would have been for the second cd full of b-sides, and new/rare songs from around the machina era. Quote
